Wonderful Valentines day dinner!
Our first time there since ownership change. Very, very good!
Food was good. Would improve vegetarian menu, more options.
Sugarbeet has been a favorite over the past 5 years. When I heard the ownership had changed and read a negative review, I was a bit concerned. There were 6 of us, there to celebrate 2 birthdays passed 60. We all were delighted with the meal - from beginning to end. We all ordered different main dishes, and each person was delighted with their meal. We enjoyed deserts and coffee. The service was courteous, engaging and helpful. Thank you from all of us!
31st wedding anniversary
Very friendly and helpful staff. Mussels and Scallops. The absolute quietest place I have ever been to in my 77 years. It was not a busy night but the tables were spaced nicely.
Good it was solid
wonderful food and great atmosphere to sit, sip, eat and chat.
Great service and great food. The interior is fine, but really not that memorable. Worse: It’s loud.
Having been to Sugarbeet before, we were all eagerly anticipating dining there again. This time, however, the quality of the food had noticeably gone downhill. Seriously downhill. The "cauliflower mash" was watery and flavorless, the roasted carrots were tough and flavorless. The steaks lacked an adequate sear, and were undercooked. On top of that, the (new) servers seemed pretty down at the mouth and unenthusiastic. We were all disappointed with our meals, and had to send a warm caesar salad back. The "sizzling shrimp" appetizer, though, was wonderful.
I found out last night that Sugarbeet recently changed hands, and that may explain the lackluster food we were served. We definitely won't be planning any further celebratory (and pricey) dinners here - maybe come for happy hour, but that's it. I hate when that happens.
My husband and I love this restaurant. It is now our "go-to" when we want to treat ourselves to a wonderful meal. We always walk away swooning! Longmont is really so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant. I love the location. it is so unexpected and fun. also, high-five to Gaudi, our server, you are awesome, and my apologies if I spelled that wrong.
We had a delightful evening. The food was excellent and the presentation beautiful. We are big fans of Ari and Ben and wish them great success! We will add Sugar Beet to our list of favorites. It is the only restaurant in Longmont worth the drive from Boulder!
We enjoyed the excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely meal with old friends who were visiting from California. From our arrival to our exit we were treated warmly and were not rushed. We chose this restaurant because Longmont looked like a good mid distance location for us to meet and Sugarbeet sounded like the best choice in town. We were not disappointed!
This is my families favorite place to eat in LM. The best food and awesome staff. Been there 30 + times I've never had a bad meal.
From the service to the food, everything was exceptional!
Sugarbeet continues to impress us. The service is always top notch. Food quality is consistently excellent. Selections are interesting. This is one our favorite spots for a special dinner.
Delicious food! The service and environment is wonderful! I highly recommend Sugarbeet for great food and service. If you are looking for the best food in Longmont, head to Sugarbeet
Celebrated our anniversary for the 3rd year in a row at Sugarbeet. As always everything was perfect!
Disappointing. My wife's duck is under cooked an tough and my crab cakes were just ok and dry.
The Sugar Beet never disappoints, everything was delicious and perfect. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding the cuisine and drinks. For example my husband was looking for a ‘spicy’ wine to go with his meal and she nailed the suggestion. We will be back.
We had a wonderful meal on New Year's Eve! Dessert was delicious. Great service
Sugarbeet is the "sweetest" little restaurant in Boulder County. Great cozy ambience. Wonderful menu, unpretentious menu and wine list that is exactly right.
This was a pleasant find! The food was exceptional, the staff friendly and accommodating. We'll be back - frequently.
I keep on trying to find another restaurant for our special occasions and have tried some new ones in the area. NOT One can beat Sugarbeet. I'll be loyal to them for the foreseeable future.
I had the lamb, I would say it was the best that I have had. The wine was excellent and fairly priced, the lighting could use a little attention, call in an expert, cant say just what it needs... We will be back for sure !
We have dined at Sugar Beet as long as they have been in business. We have always found that the main course was very tasty and we always brought guests to the Sugar Beet. The main course this past week was not up to their normal standards. The crab cakes were half the size and the quality of the crab cakes were awful. They tasted like cardboard and our scallops were not nearly as good as they normally are. It had been about 2 months since we had dined at the Sugar Beet, not sure if they have had a change in chefs or why the main course quality was less than stellar. The wait staff was very efficient, knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy waiting on our table. Our appetizers were delicious as was the beet salad.
Best wine selection in town; not on the menu, ask and you shall receive.
Fabulous! Great food and great service :) I would highly recommend.
When we first arrived the hostess was going to seat us in the front room next to a table of 15 men. We were not happy and she arranged for us to sit in the main room even tho It was very full. It made all the difference in our evening. Great service. Food was very good, too!
Visited Sugarbeet while on business. Very well priced for Excellent food. Service was fantastic. Got the Bistro steak the first night, and then the Ahi Tuna the second time. Great value for good portion sizes. I regret not having dinner here every night of my stay :D
The service was exceptional and for this reason I might come back, if I had a guest who expected nothing but the best. The food was creative but below expectations. I had the special of the night, trout, and it was nearly raw in the center. It was served on a very skimpy "side" of mashed potatoes and odd-tasting veggies (tasted like celery, which I don't like). Our table was not in the cozy part of the restaurant. A big business group showed up after us and they were very loud.
New ownership has more than filled the shoes of Seth and Justine: elegant cuisine, comfortable ambiance, and friendly service. Would recommend additional malty, darker tap beers.
Lovely evening with good friends! Exceptional food and great atmosphere.
Quite a bit disappointed at this visit to Sugar Beet. Not our first time there so perhaps we expected more than we got this time. Service was great, very friendly, attentive but not over bearing wait staff. Kate was our waitress and did a tremendous job. Always feel the room is a bit cool and that night was no exception. My husband had oysters which were okay, I had a nice green salad, but under-dressed which is unusual for any restaurant. The bread they bring is really really good. I ordered the rib eye steak which was the special and was disappointed, no only in the quality of the steak, but in the way it was prepared. Very over done for the way I ordered it. And not as tender as it should have been. Flavor was rather bland. Husband had the scallops which were seared well, but of course got cold before he finished. The wine was excellent. Not sure we will go back there for a while, or at least I will not order beef there. Not their specialty it seems.
The best place in Longmont.
Food and service were great. Each dish is well thought out and enjoyable. All three diners enjoyed each course, from the house cured salmon and Brussels sprouts starters, through creative and tasty salads, to wonderful main courses. My daughter had squash pasta and loved it. My wife loved her crab cakes and said they had layers of flavor. My fillet was excellent as well, perfectly cooked and covered with a cherry beef reduction, and accompanied by roasted baby carrots and mashed cauliflower.
The Greek salad is unique. Very tasty with multicolored fresh tomatoes, house cured olives, excellent feta. The only thing I might change with it would be to add a bit more onion. But, really good and quite unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere, with only one exception in Aspen Colorado.
My wife and daughter shared a caramelized pineapple / coconut ice cream dessert. They both said it was to die for.
So, you can’t go wrong. Great restaurant for those special celebrations in life.
Reservation On Open Table were hard to obtain for the time we wanted. After 3 tries, we got it to give us the time we desired.
Overall, a very nice place to dine!!!
Great as always. Filet perfectly cooked. Chocolate dessert amazing.
Had heard good things about this restaurant for years- finally got here (although finding it was not so easy!). Very good food & great service!
Filet & scallops were great! Ahi so so. Salads & desserts good but don’t get the Beignets! Also great cocktails.
