Succulent Cafe Ratings and Reviews
While visiting Solvang, we happened to walk by the restaurant and I loved the energy, so we made reservations for the next night. When we arrived we were seated within a few minutes. The server took our order and within minutes we had a large dish full of delicious brussel sprouts. Yum. We also ordered a meatloaf and spicy hen (?). Delicious! We enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. I wish the restaurant was closer to us so we could go again (and again...).
Had such a wonderful time and food was fantastic. We were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary and had our handsome 5-1/2 month Lab (Doug) with us. The staff was not only attentive and extremely friendly but gave repeated love and attention to Doug. THANK YOU! we can't wait to come back.
We were in Solvang for a wedding and decided to eat here because of location. In looking at the menu I couldn't decided if I wanted to go there for dinner or brunch or both since both looked equally delicious. We ended up going for dinner and I LOVED it. I got the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and it was amazing. My friends also loved the lamb burger, the meatloaf and braised short rib. I would absolutely go again and would recommend it to anyone heading to that area.
The place had a great feel and the cocktails were very tasty. The meatloaf was very rich and filling, the fried chicken wasn't the best. Not as crispy as hoped for and the Mac and cheese and collards needed more flavor. But the atmosphere and look of the restaurant was on point.
This was a lovely meal with a beautiful and bountiful charcuterie plate for starters, followed by amazing Brussel sprouts and the three little piggies (bacon wrapped tenderloin on a fried potato cake) which was very delicious. Dessert was the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Service by Ty was terrific and accommodated all our requests. Certainly on our list anytime we return to Solvang.
Fantastically delicious. If you like lamb chops, then here is where you have to order your next meal. Took me 4 1/2 hours to get here and would drive back just for that meal.
Waitress was exceptional. I hate asparagus, but listened to the waitress and really enjoyed the concoction the lamb was served with.
Try it.... you will thank me later!!!!
This was our second visit to Succulent. This time we dined indoors. The dining room is very pleasant with rich wood and simple settings. The food was excellent. The four of us ordered different entree's. They accommodated one vegan and one with allergies with the most gracious service and delicious food. The presentations are artful and the portions are generous. The menu is original and changed from our first visit to keep in time with the season.
On a birthday celebration road trip, we were travelling with a small dog. Little Elvis was welcomed by the staff, and given fresh water and homemade peanut butter biscuits. The food served to us was also delicious and fresh. The patio was quiet, since there were some wild fires burning nearby, so most folks chose to sit inside. Quaint little town, nice little cafe :)
This was our second time at Succulent and we were very disappointed compared to our prior experience. Both of our meals were NOT hot. I ordered fried chicken. You expect fried chicken to be so hot you might have to blow on it to cool down. Mine was room temperature. Maybe sitting under a heat lamp that was turned off. The mac & cheese side dish was not the least bit hot. The same with the short rib dinner. Very strange to not have hot food. And it was early evening, no excuse for this. Not sure we will return. It was hard to answer some of these questions because it was so good the first time we were there. So I don't know. It might be good (or not).
