   This was is cool. The place is dimly lit with very cool lighting and a great ambiance. We actually ate on the patio though which was lovely. The menu leans heavily southern but with an elevated touch. I had the shrimp and grits, which I like but don’t usually love but our server, who was absolutely delightful, recommended. It was very, very good. Unlike some of the midwestern grits that I get at restaurants back home that are more like shoveling concrete in your mouth, these were light and tasty. Oysters were fantastic, the drinks very good - only great things to say! The kitchen did take forever, but our server did warn us that Mother Day had swamped them a bit. We were in no hurry and we were rewarded with a couple cake balls and whipped cream. Very sweet of her.

   The service was top notch and the atmosphere was wonderful, the food just did not taste good.

   Enjoyed Mother's Day brunch here thoroughly. Food was exceptional, steak was made to perfection. Service was detail-oriented and efficient. Will be returning every chance I get.

   Came here today for Mother’s Day brunch. Had a Belle’s punch, which was nice and refreshing. For my entree, I had the shrimp and grits, which were really good.

   Succotash is a beautiful spot for special occasions. Everything we ate from the starters of bacon jam deviled eggs, pecan sticky buns, country ham and pimento crudite to our entrees, avocado blt toast, pulled pork sandwich, steak and eggs, and shrimp and grits was delicious. Highly recommend and we will be back.

   Our waitress Kay was amazing, made everyone comfortable. The food was top tier!

   "During our first visit, I noticed that our server appeared somewhat distracted. I found myself needing to repeatedly request items such as a water refill, lemon, salt, and pepper. Unfortunately, the server took so long to return with the salt and pepper that I barely had the opportunity to use them."

   I’ve dined here several times in the past in part because of the variety of the Menu, and the convenience to hotels that I stay when coming to the National Harbor. The appetizer, smoked wings delicious as always. My wife chose the barbecue ribs and they were tender except for the end, very tough! I chose the Wedge Salad. Our sever, was not good, after placing our order, he never returned to pick up the menus. We finally handed them to the mai tred’. Our sever never retrieved the plate that contained the bones from our wings! I was tempted to leave less than the minimum gratuity but did not! I won’t hold this against the establishment but should I return, I don’t want the same server!

    The Taste of South appetizer plate were all delicious, everyone in our party of four had a favorite but everyone also enjoyed ALL of them. The entrees- pimento burgers, the bowl, and shrimp & grits - did not survive. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert, but we were pleasantly surprised when they brought us a complimentary sweet potato waffle creation. We were celebrating (an anniversary) and all managed to eat a few bites of the crunchy, sweet deliciousness that had so kindly appeared. Thanks again chef & staff for a wonderful evening!
