Succotash - National Harbor
SUCCOTASH is named after the classic dish that has been a longstanding staple of the Southern table. While many know “Succotash” when they see it, the dish has been interpreted, modified and passed from generation to generation for centuries. While Succotash between families will share similarities, each family’s recipe is deeply personal and reminiscent of those special suppers that brings kin together. Our “Succotash” is special to us and we invite you to experience the South from our point of view.

Had an amazing time tonight celebrating my mom’s birthday. The good was delicious. The service was speedy. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely be going back again some day.
Everything was perfect! Food was fantastic, so much flavor!
Had a wonderful time at this restaurant! It is very nice, the food is great and service is too! Our servers Sydney & Jeffrey (new server) were very attentive and nice. Brandy went over and beyond..we were running late for our reservation due to an emergency and she was able to allow us extra time to get to the restaurant so we wouldn't miss our reservation. This was our first time eating there and we would definitely be back! The shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles are amazing! Great drinks too! Go! You won't be disappointed!
Overall had a decent experience. Service was excellent from the hostesses to the Server. All staff were helpful and accommodating. The food was OK. The pork sandwich came a tad soggy due to the collards being placed on it. Perhaps serve them separately to avoid that? The biscuits & gravy were very salty. I think I would be open to returning though to try some of the other dishes/desserts.
I hate doing this but they need to do better. To include a 20% gratuity and have any guest waiting to be served more than 10-12 min multiple times is appalling.
The catfish was soggy inside. My server apologized that I was given to her during a time she couldn’t handle it. To operate at only half capacity after YEARS of operating a full capacity leaves less room for poor service. I tipped above the 20% included and left having cornbread as an entree.
Food was delicious & atmosphere was romantic. Highly recommend for date night or anytime you want some good food.
Food was good overall. Love the Nashville fried oysters. Catfish was good but nothing that interesting. Live the blue chees flavor on the kickin chicken but a little too saucy and expected more spice. A little pricey for what we got but service was excellent.
Outstanding service and a menu that was well thought out. These dishes are anything but basic.
My food and the atmosphere were amazing!!! I will definitely eat here again!!!
Denea - our waitress was outstanding!
Nice atmosphere and service
We were looking for a quiet night out away from our kids with good food and libations. We sat in the corner with a couple who yelled and cussed at their children the entire duration of dinner. Other guests who were dinning there in addition to us also kept turning around to look at the loud disruptive couple. They were so loud, disruptive and disrespectful that We ended up asking for our check, leaving the restaurant and finishing our dinner at home
Didn't not like the flavors of supposed 'upscale' southern food, but the ambiance was very nice!
It was a great day for outdoor dining.
From the time we walked in to the Time we left. The experience was good. Out server Aja was absolutely amazing.
Service wasn't the best. Our waitress, just seemed tired and not that friendly. We didn't complain though but wondered if gratuity wasn't include if it had been different (20% gratuity automatically applied to bill regardless of party size). I had the chicken and waffles...chicken was good, but waffle was just okay (seemed like the oil from chicken just absorbed the waffle, or too much better and syrup). There were three more people in my party and none said that the food was great. The only thing that we thought was excellent was the deviled eggs, mac and cheese, and the collard greens....so go for the sides! Watch out the floor is slippery and my friend fell and hurt her knee on the way out! I think there are better dinner places in National Harbor.
Amazing restaurant. Staff was friendly and professional. The food was extraordinary. Will be back. Thanks to the succotash team
Can't beat this happy hour, best down at the harbor.
My wife and I enjoyed the food and the Ambiance service was great we plan to return try other things
Great early dinner with friends. We sat outside which was great.
I forgot my server.........she was amazing, attentive to details and very professional
I love the Chicken and Waffles!! The Fried Green Tomato salad is a winner also!
I had the lobster egg benedict. I am always looking for new things for brunch. Brunch is my favorite meal. The waitstaff was very attentive and we did not have to wait long for anything. I am glad that Succotash survived the pandemic.
Took friends here for brunch to celebrate their anniversary. We had a great time. Food was good, staff was great and enjoyed the ambiance. Will patronize here again for sure
We are here 4 times in 3 days. Delicious southern food that isn’t too savory
The food is specific and for people who have an acquired taste. I say this because I wanted deviled eggs, but they come with a tomato jam on it. I asked for the deviled eggs without the tomato jam, but my server brought them out with the jam. Then I wanted a salad, but the salad has pistachios and pears in it. I am allergic to both and the menu did not reflect this nor did my host mention this to me when I asked her what else was in the salad besides lettuce and arugula. The macaroni and cheese was OK, but I still needed to add a pinch of salt. The best thing I ordered and enjoyed were the smoked wings. In addition to this, I asked for a straw so that I could drink my beverage but after about almost 10 minutes, my husband got up and went to the bar to get me a straw. We also didn't have any utensils so we waited to get that after we asked. It wasn't even crowded, but I guess it may have just been one of those days. For me, the whole experience matters from the service to the food.
My entree was disgusting, the dirty fried chicken isn’t as good as it sounds.
The dinner we had was delicious. The server was very helpful and answered all our questions. We will be back the next time we're in the area.
Service from host to waitress was very good, and helpful with a baby, but it was very slow at the time.
Food: disappointing. Chicken sandwich was very light on chicken and was dark meat. A chic fil a sandwich puts this to shame in every way.
Chili was decent, with nice pieces of meat.
Cornbread also was good.
My buddy and I each indulged in the Taste of the South tasting menu and we got to sample a lot of the restaurant's entrees and sides - delicious! We were overstuffed though! Will be going back!
Great atmosphere with good food. Enjoyed the bourbon flight!
Great food for great prices! This was our first time going to brunch at Succotash and it was amazing! The food was great and it was socially distanced in the restaurant. We will be returning again soon.
Nice spot for brunch. Really good food.
Great cocktails, food and atmosphere. Every server was kind and attentive
Awesome experience for me and my fiancé!!! Definitely will return
I mean automatic 20% gratuity included makes you wonder but my friend and had a nice dining experience. All of our appetizers were very delicious especially their wings. I would highly recommend the Chicken and Waffles. The catfish was not so great and the pork ribs we’re definitely Louisiana style and not fall off the bone. The deserts were super disappointing. The cookies are hard as a rock. Overall, it was a nice experience but some of their items are not well excited. Good value for the portions.
Overall good experience, excellent food and service.
Great Experience. I love it there.
My good friend and I enjoyed our meal and drinks. The food is always excellent as well as the Bell’s Punch!!! You can never go wrong with the cornbread and Bell’s Punch. Service was great as always.
Birthday! Portia was great!
We have dined at Succotash before but returned to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was very delicious. We look forward to returning soon.
