Sublime Ratings and Reviews
I have known about Sublime for quite some time (at least 10 years). The menu then and the options now is quite disheartening to say the least. Whether it be change in management, low staff turnaround, cutting in food cost, or tough financial times, the quality of the food should never suffer, because true Vegans and supporters of Sublime can/will definitely notice the shifts.
Within the last 3 weeks, Sublime offered a raw zucchini dish, along with the Portobello stack (which was by far the best dish on the menu) however, was way too salty. This lends to the inconsistency of the chefs in the kitchen. Last week these options were removed. The other rather delicious dish is the mushroom ravioli; however, this is the most expensive dish on the menu, yet they only provide you with 6 raviolis. I inquired about the menu deletions and was told that after the hurricane it was too difficult for the chefs and/or management to undertake some of the most difficult dishes. Thus, this makes sense now. The menu no longer offers hand crafted vegan dishes, instead, to save time and money, the menu is filled with "ready-made" Gardein options. The upscale ambiance no longer fits the low budget menu option. Honestly speaking, my partner and I love food so much (hardcore vegans) that we do not mind spending more on food items so long as the taste, presentation, and options are up to par. We ordered the "frito misto" appetizer, the "Sublime piccata", the "Gardein burger", 2 chopped salads since they did not have arugula, and the "chocolate nirvana" for dessert. Our bill was close to $80, yet we could have gone to Publix and ordered a frozen bag of gardein cutlets and prepared our dinner for less, honestly speaking. If Sublime want to remain open and keep customers satisfied, they need to do better. Each time we go the items either change, are not available, or do not taste the same. With these inconsistencies, it is quite difficult to recommend this restaurant to others.
Very disappointing. I go to Sublime a couple of times per year, always hoping it will be better since it is one of the only full vegan places in Ft Lauderdale. Unfortunately it always under delivers. This last visit was the worst yet. The menu is smaller, the portions are smaller and the quality is poor. They basically take Gardein products and heat them up. For an "nicer" restaurant, the food is very basic and tasteless. If their food was more like Green Bar or Darbster, it would be worth going to, but it is not. On top of that, the service was poor. The waiter took our order, and after that he did not come back until we asked for the check. If you go to Sublime, do not have high expectations or you will be disappointed.
Overpriced small salad very expensive with no vegetables in it we asked for golden beets we received one half of a beet sliced in quarters charged 4 dollars for the half beet on top of a small green salad already overpriced no extra veggies in salad. Aweful
absolutely loved Sublime. I was visiting the fort lauderdale area from the North East and fell in love with this place. Ate at sublime every night. I wished they were open for lunch! food was great and the service staff was very pleasant and engaging. Even purchased the cookbook I loved it so much. I would most definitely recommend Sublime!!
Sublime is my favorite restaurant. I say this because Sublime serves great food and is 100% vegan. Also, I've also enjoyed great service every time, and the decor is great! If you haven't tried Sublime, you should.
I'm very happy that I live within 25 minutes. I would drive much longer.
The service was great, and the food was really delicious. It’s all vegan and there area a lot of great choices to try out. We have the cauliflower- which was amazing, the pretzel medley and the black bean sliders. All were good and then for dessert we had the carrot cake which was delicious. Definitely recommend coming here.
Sublime is a wonderful vegan restaurant. One thing I really appreciate is that it is non-profit with proceeds benefiting animal causes.
My family and I went on Christmas Eve. As usual, the food was very good and we had a nice evening. However, we found the server to be unfriendly, and I would even say cold, and not well-suited to employment in a customer service career. Maybe she was just having a bad night.
Very limited menu. Considering that the food was pretty expensive, the food tasted very ok at best.
We were a total of 5 people and all ordered different things...from the raviolis, to the lasagna to the burgers to the flat bread and coliflower appetizer. All and all we were not very impressed. Our bill was 170 dollars and we had no liquor. The service was very good and the ambiance is not bad, but in all honesty you can find great vegan places for half the price.
My first time at an all Vegan restaurant and it was fantastic!!! I had the chopped salad and had some of my friends frito misto (basically fried cauliflower with a mixed sweet chili sauce) as an appetizer. Both Delicious! Next on to the main course, I had the spicy schezaun stir fry and my friend had the veggie lasagna and both great. The only thing is the menu was rather limited on options but what they had was good. It was quite empty when we got there so there is plenty of seating and it could just be that we were dining on a Wednesday. All in all I would recommend to try at least once.
I took my friend out for her birthday because she is a vegan and she absolutely loved it. Our server Juan was very nice and very accommodating. He make sure we were comfortable and understood the menu. We left full and happy. The yellow split pea soup was incredible and also we had The vegetable lasagna. And for dessert to top it all off was the awesome Carrot cake. If you are vegan you must visit this place. We went on a Thursday night And it wasn’t really crowded so that was good,
If you go ask for Juan you really enjoy him.
Overall, it was good but I was really disappointed in the limited menu. Also, I paid $6 for 4 ounces of cheap sugary grapefruit juice....I made the mistake of assuming it would be fresh because of the price and the reputation of the restaurant. So, advice to everyone, don't order a juice!
