Absolutely delicious! I heard nothing but great things about SuBI so we decided to make the drive. The sushi was extremely fresh and delicious. Worth the price and the drive.
Subi’s has consistently been a great place to go. The staff are always friendly, the food is delicious and the ambience is great. This is always our go to place for dinner.
Reliably good food. Comfortable seating for conversation, not too loud. Good service too.
Fantastic little gem tucked away from the main stream ... delicately and freshly prepared Ngiri, Sashimi and Maki rolls ... delicious and well priced! One of our island favorites.
As always, delish food, fantastic responsive wait staff, friendly ambiance & one of our favorite restaurants on the island. We go there frequently & have NEVER been disappointed in all the time SUBI has been open.
Our group of 5 ladies celebrated a birthday in the Tatami Room. It was private and lovely. The birthday girl even received a sweet treat near the end of our delicious meal!
Awesome as always
Busy holiday time but service was still, good delicious
Awesome New Year’s Eve dinner with the family!
Chef is incredible. The fish and sushi was very fresh and delicious. Great food!!! Great service too.
The sashimi here is good (not spectacular). The rolls are very good. The ambiance is decent. The owners are Korean and between that, no Japanese servers, and no Japanese decor, it struggles to provide an authentic feeling. The host at the door is not the sharpest tool in the shed, as he often gets to-go orders wrong and doesn’t seem to get it. I still keep coming back because it’s the only sushi restaurant on Bainbridge.
This is by far the best Japanese restaurant on this side of Puget Sound and is better than all of those I've tried on the Seattle side. Excellent, inventive sushi and rolls as well as great teriyaki and tempura. I plan to become a regular.
SuBi is an Island favorite. A comfortable sushi bar and adequate tables provides good seating for locals that frequent SuBi nightly following a movie, after work, or for special events. The food ranges from sushi of all types to a wide range of Japanese dinner dishes. The service is good, the wait staff if knowledgeable, and the atmosphere encourages good conversation. Come early and you can get a seat at the sushi bar. Come later and you should make reservations. You won't regret it.
Loved our meal, and enjoyed a beautiful evening over fabulous food getting caught up with long time friends. Couldn't be happier with my meal and experience.
SuBi is always a great place with terrific food and service!
Dinner before the movie; service and timing was fine.
Great food exert their me I go (weekly). Seafood always fresh. Great service too
It took over a hr for us to get our food. We had a reservation at 7:15 and we didn’t get out of the restaurant until after 9:00. We had two kids with us. So it was to long to wait to eat.
It's our favorite restaurant on Bainbridge Island. We've been going there for years and the food, wait staff and overall experience has ALWAYS been wonderful. Really great sushi! Yummy!
I like this restaurant, but my experience was very bad service. The waitress, a perfectly decent girl, didn't have a clue about customer service. I ordered a group of things - including shrimp tempura. It just never came - and when it did come it was assorted. Everyone else had finished their dinner and when I reminded her of the tempura, I ordered a nigiri sushi to tide me over. That only came when I reminded her and was filling out the bill.
I have never tipped so low - and in the future will not automatically tip any one.
Always love SuBi sushi!! We can always count on great service.
Great and fresh sushi! The best quality and choices. The service and care is always great!
in addition to a normally busy Saturday night, this particular night had a big party (12?) that occupied the center tables. In spite of that added work load, the service we received was conscientious and timely. The food and service are always the best. A BI gem.
There was a very large party seated and we should have orders our entire meal all at one time. We had to wait a very long time to get the second part of our meal that we ordered later. Something we will learn for our next visit.
I come here for the various chirashi bowls. The isn’t much rice, but the selection of sashimi placed on the rice is good. It is expensive for what it is, but if you are going for quality and not quantity, you are in the right place. I also hear that hot tea is complimentary which I always enjoy in the winter time. Tenpura is oishi (yummy); the udon dashi (soup) was sweet shiitake, so be aware of you plan for it to be savory. There is a hint of sugars in there. All-in-all, very delightful food and you have to flag them down for beverage refills sometimes. :)
SuBi is our favorite Bainbridge Island restaurant! We are never disappointed in anyway.
Great local and friendly place to dine. The atmosphere is welcoming and very clean. The staff is amazingly knowledgeable about the items on the menu and the food is fresh and always great!
I've been trying to get to this place for a couple of years - their social posts have always made everything look amazing. Being closed on Sundays and needing a ferry to get there has always been an obstacle, so we were thrilled to find a Saturday where we could finally make it (but only just before last call!).
The quality of the fish served here is at the top level that compares well with any other top sushi place I've tried in the Seattle area. The prices are fair, even for the "MP" items like O-Toro and Uni. The O-Toro was by far one of the best I've ever had either here or in Japan - melt in your mouth quality. The menu is very clear about the sourcing too - this one was from Spain. Other fish we tried were all excellent - fresh, flavorful and not chewy - Madai, Yellowtail, Sake, Uni and Unagi. We also tried the "Aburi-Gyu" which was a nigiri made with Ribeye - a sushi-sized slice, on rice, seared with a torch and topped with thin sliced green onions and what I think was a Ponzu sauce. This was very tasty, but would rather spend the money on the excellent fish, but there was too much ponzu on it so the rice fell apart while picking it up.
I'm not much of a roll person, but tried the Oh Yes roll. Again, great fish, and the tempura style deep-fry was a nice contrast in textures. Unlike most other rolls, this one could have used a bit more of the sauce.
For apps, we had the Agedashi-dofu which was excellent. Really well-done with right balance of katsuobushi and nori with the tempura sauce, and some sashimi which like the sushi, was amazing because of the quality of the fish. Very generous portions too. The only small things I would change are 1) serve the agedashi dofu with small bowls to share and 2) toss in a couple more shiso leave with the sashimi. Love those.
Great experience overall. Definitely planning to go back when we can.
Unlike a lot of American sushi shops, the wasabi is already on the nigiri, which I appreciate!
Wonderful sushi, service was excellent
Love this place. And the food is great. Spicy tuna roll is excellent but too high priced.
Subi is always a family favorite. We had a group of teenagers for a birthday and the staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Great food and service!!! They have my favorite sushi rolls, they are delicious and very fresh! Love the “Seahawks Roll”!
Always a fantastic experience here, especially sitting at the Sushi bar to watch the magic!
Our family loves Subi. It is our go-to restaurant on the island. Savannah rocks -- awesome server!
Just really amazing food with a great menu and lots of choices. The sushi is wonderful and the service is great and it's really reasonably priced!
It’s always great food and wonderful service.
We love Subi! They made an extra effort to make sure we got the seating and table we wanted for a birthday celebration. Food was great as always!
Subi never disappoints. They are amazingly consistent. From superb quality food, prompt attentive service and ambiance, the Subi experience is always the same. Excellent in every way. People sometimes mention their prices, but dinner for two out anywhere on BI whether it be burgers or Thai will virtually cost the same. Bravo SUBI!
Great place for dinner with friends! Always great food. In Spanish my guests said it was the best sushi they have ever had. “Me acompañaron unos amigos de México ellos dijeron que era el sushi más delicioso y fresco que han comido”. Gracias
