Have heard great things about the Stumbling Goat, and finally made it for dinner. Too bad it was ten days before closing the restaurant. But it was an amazing meal. We started with the tail & trotter plate. So many unique flavors on one plate. A must do indulgence. I ordered the duck breast, which was amazing (my mouth waters just thinking about it) while my husband had the fish special which also was superb. We finished dinner with house made chocolate cognac ice cream (yes , cognac!) and the salted caramel bomb. Everything was so amazing.
We had visited the Stumbling Goat for the first time during Restaurant week this past April and had an amazing time. When we read that it was closing we were very sad and knew we had to go one more time. Still the same great service, great food and fun ambiance. We will miss this neighborhood gem.
The staff and service were fantastic. I arrived early and was immediately greated and seated. I enjoyed the energy and banter between nyself, the hostess and staff, and truly appreciate seating me early so could prepare for my guest. Only ordered appetizers and drinks, but was pleased with both. Everyone around us seemed to be quite pleased with their entrées. It was a brutally hot day, and dining
Excellent on all counts, the food, the service, the ambiance and most of all the people. We will miss the restaurant as they will be closing at the end of this month, but will hope that the owners consider pop up fare in their next venture and maybe (fingers crossed) another venture into the restaurant scene.
Salads were excellent (heirloom tomato and baby greens ) shared by 4. Entrees were very good to outstanding (best were the mushroom pasta and duck breast). Shared dessert homemade ice cream was excellent.
Service was great, not hovering but there for questions and wine refills. All in all, a wonderful meal.
We had the worst service.Made us feel very unwelcome .Took over 20 mins to even ask us if we wanted to order drinks. After ordering drinks we could hear our complaining and talking very rudely about us.we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave.I will never go back or tell anyone to go there .It was awful.
We found the experience here to be delightful. The service was excellent and the best way I could describe it is "casual elegance". You could get dressed up or come as you are, either way you'll fit in.
Service, food and wine selection was excellent. Our server made an excellent recommendation based on our food choices.
We'll be back...and we'll bring friends!
Everything I've had here has been phenomenal....and the portion sizes are huge for such quality food...at most restaurants that hold a similar standard of excellence, the plates are beautiful but child size in portion. Here is a neighborhood gem....with really amazing food for people who like to EaT...rotating menu, excellent flavor, experimental kind of options..mostly .local and organic....only warning is that the food service is not quick....but the plates are well worth the wait... And they make some great cocktails to tide one over ;)
I had dinner here with two other friends. It had been recommended by some friends and it was a well warranted recommendation. Our server was amazing and very personable. The food was delicious and our different courses were well timed through the evening. I am looking forward to going back here again and trying out more of the menu.
Food was very good, although quite rich. We had the goat rib special as an appetizer. Wonderful flavor but a bit hard to eat...too much fat and membrane. I had the black cod--delicious--and my husband had the pork chop. He was only able to eat half and got sick later that night due to the richness of the food. The place is great, just be cautious with your order.
Wonderful, locally-sourced and sustainable food prepared with care and elegance. Excellent cocktails and a nice wine list, the Stumbling Goat is a local favorite. The space is inviting, with tasteful art and exposed brick walls, and the service has been outstanding every time I have visited. On our most recent visit, Xavier provided great advice, and knew everything about the preparation of each dish. He was attentive without overshadowing the meal itself. It's a nearly perfect restaurant.
The food is always fab and our service is equally wonderful. We've had the same man the last few times we've dinned and he's always terrific. Especially this last time with my grandpa who can be a very grouchy diner (but was so pleased with him from the start he didn't even get a little grouchy). We don't make it out to eat often but when we do stumbling goat is always top of our list.
My husband and I were disappointed. We were one of three tables and it was a Tuesday night, but I'd still expect to see more tables. The food was okay. I could have made it myself, so for the price it was not worth it. I probably won't go back. Even the dessert was so-so.
