We spent some time at the bar before dinner, and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxed. Our dinner was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Our only complaint was that the entrees came out a little quickly, which is not usually an issue, but it felt a little rushed and left little time for even finishing the appetizers. Overall, though, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and would very highly recommend Stroube’s to anyone.

Walked into Stroubes and the atmosphere was light. Music was a little loud but inviting. It was Mardi Gras week so they seated us right away. The tables were long so I got to sit next to my sweetie on our Valentines Date night. My husband said that he was cold somewhat so we sat in the booth a little more, so it made it more romantic when we shared our meal! We ordered the crab and corn bisque and the wedge salad, which were the most 2 delicious sides! I would return and order those two again! Next came the Filet roll ups, cute and yummy! There was just enough sauce under those 5 cuties! Something you don’t see, surf and turf all in a mini package. Beef sushi almost. The bread was light and airy with seeds and butter over the top that made it perfect to soak up all remnants of deliciousness! We both ordered the Beef Bourguignon, and it came in a bowl, dark and flavorful sauce around mashed potatoes and mushrooms and onion, Filet of Beef nuggets and haricot verts. It was delicious but I think that it could of used another potato underneath. Slices, or cubes fried and some seasoning. The haricot verts would of looked nicer cut perhaps. I’m a visual eater and I think that the dinner on the whole was memorable and I would be back to try some of the other menu items. The menu was small enough and to not be too much. The waiter we had was timely, very nice and would love for him to be our waiter again.

My husband gave me three tickets for Christmas to take our daughter and daughter-in-law to see Shen Yun. He also treated us to dinner at Strobes before the performance. It was a wonderful "Girls night out"! Our server, Dan, was awesome and couldn't have been more accommodating making sure we kept on schedule and were not late for the performance. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I can't wait to go back:). Thanks, Dan!!!!!

We had their restaurant week tasting menu. My wife had lobster bisque, pork belly with foie gras mashed potatoes, and king cake bread pudding. I had brisket fritters, beef cheeks with a grit cake, and a brownie topped with popcorn ice cream. We also got their Stroube roll appetizer, which is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

Went for an EatBR event, a set 3-course dinner. Among the most popular restaurants in Baton Rouge this last week, participating restaurants were advertised by set price. Food was great and service excellent; it was not particularly crowded, probably due to the recent unusual cold spell. I ate redfish for the first time. It was wonderfully prepared. Only regret is the Cosmos were $15 with name brand vodka, Belvedere. Seemed a bit high. Parking, especially valet, would be appreciated.

The red fish was ok at best. The cowboy ribeye that my husband had should have been described as the cowboy grizzle with a hint of ribeye. Very disappointing and over priced. We complained but the manager didn’t even attempt to comp the meal or part of the meal. He did give us a $50 gift certificate to return. Last thing I want to do is spend any more money at Stroubes. I’ll use it at lunch and make sure whatever I get is below the $50 giftcard. The giftcard didn’t even cover the cost of the slab of grizzled ribeye.

This was our 46th anniversary dinner. We could have gone anywhere but chose Stroubes because it was highly recommended. This was our first time dining there. Not impressed.
