Acclaimed Chef Michael Mina breaks new ground with the debut of StripSteak by Michael Mina - Mandalay Bay - Las Vegas, his first steakhouse. With its classic menu, inviting bar scene and sophisticated atmosphere, StripSteak plays host to guests looking for the perfect filet in a modern alternative to the traditional steakhouse setting. As with Mina's other restaurants, StripSteak uses only the highest quality ingredients - corn-fed, all-natural meat; line-caught seafood and fresh, seasonal produce.
StripSteak features a menu rife with imaginative interpretations of classic steakhouse favorites using state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. StripSteak offers a variety of beef options, including Certified Angus Beef and American Wagyu beef and is home to two wood-burning grills and six circulating, slow-poaching chambers. StripSteak by Michael Mina - Mandalay Bay - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
StripSteak exceeded my expectations in every way. I have eaten in Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak in D.C. on many occastions. I always found the steak good, but not great. Not so at StripSteak. I have not a better filet mignon anywhere. Cooked to perfection and not dry (which because of low fat content filets often are). Great vegetables. And best of all - the service. Our waiter was perfect, and enhanced the great experience.
Had a bad experience. Our party has food allergies and was given a separate menu to order from. We chose the filet, side of plain broccolini sautéed and fingerling potatoes. When our broccolini came out it had a noodle in it... This is very rare for us to encounter especially in a side of vegetables. Also the server told us due to our multiple allergies they would saute the broccolini in olive oil and never mentioned it would be spicy. It was too spicy for the table to eat and with the noodle we had to send it back. The fingerling potatoes they sent were too salty and almost inedible - definitely not worth the price or very upscale. The steaks were tasty.
Server was inattentive after the mistake on the food was made. Manager came out to apologize and removed the sides from our bill. After spending over $200 we left very disappointed having this been our first time here.
Steaks were very good but not exceptional. Server was professional but not engaged, seemed indifferent. For the price and being that it was my wife's birthday it was a little of a letdown. Have dined there in the past and had a much better experience. Maybe because it was a Monday night it was just a little off.
For the price point, this restaurant was disappointing. I've been to other steak houses that are less pricey and found them to be just as good or better (i.e. Echo & Rig). My primary disappointment came from my order of a medium rare filet was arrived well done. They replaced the steak; however, that was at the expense of me sitting there while my dinner companions ate their dinners. I don't believe that should be acceptable at a restaurant of this caliber. To make up for the situation, they did provide our table with tasting portions of a few desserts.
Always an amazing food experience. Every time I come to Vegas, this is the place My fiancé and I go. The Australian lobster tail, au gratin potatoes and green beans is the meal we get. Spot on every time. The best meal hands down and always consistent. All the staff is super friendly, knows us by name and makes for a better dining experience.
We had been to this restaurant last time we were in Las Vegas and decided to return. The food was good and we enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent, the server was well informed and professional. We ordered lamb and the small filet mignon. They were well prepared. The restaurant split the wedge salad so we could share. We added a baked potato to the entree and they split it for us to share. The real crowning joy was the beignet trio. The beignets were perfectly served and delicious. A perfect way to end a good meal.
The French fry flight to start was the best part of the meal. I had high expectations for the reserve cap steak based on all of the raving reviews. It was average at best and certainly not worth the $90 price tag. Most restaurant guests were dressed very casually. We dress up for dinner and the hostess first tried to seat us in the bar, when they knew we were celebrating my husband's birthday. Not quite the ambience we were looking for. If you're looking for a nice, romanic dinner skip this place.
We were visiting Vegas celebrating both mine and my partner's 30th birthdays as well as our anniversary and Strip Steak was top of our list for restaurants to visit. The steaks were absolutely amazing, melt in your mouth! Unfortunately due to jet lag and losing my appetite I only managed about half of mine, which I was absolutely gutted about! We told them it was our birthdays and anniversary and we got cards and a special dessert! Not to mention the duck fat fries compliments of the chef as a starter. Could not fault it!
Great Dinner!!! The food was awesome and amazingly enough no one at the table had steak!!!
Four different fish dishes were ordered and all were exceptional.
The service was professional and friendly and I cant imagine wanting to go anywhere else for Steak & Seafood. Dont miss the Lobster Tacos or the Truffle Mac n Cheese
The food here was phenomenal as was the service. This was by far the biggest strip steak I've ever had and it was delicious. What we didn't care for was how close we were to the other tables and the noise level. We could hear everyone's conversations around us as if they were sitting right at our table.
So sorry to say that the steak was just not good....we are from Dallas and have steak often....Prime at Bellagio was good but we will not go back to Strip Steak....its a shame as we stay in the Four Seasons and Charlie Palmer is mediocre as well. Step it up Mandalay!!
We actually had 3 consecutive meals at Michael Mina restaurants in Vegas. The staff and the venue were very nice and the sides were fairly good. The steaks were overall poor. No flavor and not particularly impressive meat. I buy prime steaks and cook them at home often and they don't take much to be fantastic. I know it is always a gamble when paying this much for a steak. My recommendation when you visit is do not order a steak and you will likely have a great experience. Sadly most Vegas Steakhouses seem to exist out of necessity rather than relying on quality. Definitely try Michael Mina in the Bellagio or Bardot in Aria. Hard to believe a chef who amazed us with flavors at those restaurants could put such a flavorless piece of meat on our table.
