Beautiful location, relaxing environment and the staff was very accommodating. I was there early evening and they opened the French doors in front of my table for me to enjoy the lovely sundown.
Excellent Mothers’ Day Brunch. Scotch Eggs were perfect as were crepes with ramps and mushroom filling. Attentive service, delicious cocktails. Wonderful spot on the water; enjoyed by 3 generations.
Quiet evening for two. Nice view good service. Food not up to expectations. Wife did not like her meal. Over cooked Salmon granoci funky flavor.

We went for the brunch on Easter Sunday and it was amazing. From he grilled tuna to the house-made gravlax (absolutely delicious) and crepes, every plate was perfect. Do not miss the carrot cake - the best I've ever had, and I do love carrot cake. This has a true Maine cuisine feel to it that doesn't feel pretentious or over done. Local, fresh ingredients that are not abused by an overly aggressive chef trying to make a name. Nick came by our table a few times and was truly interested in making sure we had a great experience - something you don't hear of anymore and something that will definitely bring us back. He obviously take a lot of pride in his work, and it shows in every course. Thank you for a wonderful time - we will see you weekly for dinner or brunch!
I was on a R&R get away solo.
You could tell restaurant was not in full swing. Limited staff, and I thought the dining room cold atmosphere and temperature, felt uninviting. No piped in music...no table clothes.. they just warm up the dinner atmosphere. My waitress was good, just too much work for one person...handling the bar and 3 tables. I would try it again in season...i guess.
Waitress rushed us through our meal. Food was okay, not great.
Menu was exciting, view was amazing, execution was poor.
Had a very nice evening at Stripers. Atmosphere and staff were excellent. Food was pretty good but not the best. But for a February evening in the port it was good. I had a Caesar salad which was ok but the croutons were stale. I had the gnocchi which was ok but not fantastic (ie I would not hurry back for). Staff couldn't have been nicer and I look forward to going back in the summer!
Excellent from start to finish. My martini, perfect. The chowder and lobster bisque as starters some of the best we've had. The lobster rolls and french fries, perfect! Save room for the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. OMG!
We plan on making our way back to Stripers very soon.
We were the only ones in the restaurant that night, but given it was a cold night in off season it was expected. We had wanted to try this place for a while and we were remembering a loved ones passing that night and she would have loved this place. The service was friendly and good. Not too attentive even with us being the only people there. The drinks tasted great, nice mixed drinks. I love trying new wine and the Chenin Blanc was fantastic. My food was very very good. The braised short rib app was delicious and tender incredible flavor. I never had smoked scallops before and they were delectable in the salad I had as an entree. My father in law had fish and chips and unfortunately thought it was quite plain. He said for a great restaurant like that he thinks they should have a signature taste to it. Maybe a better batter and the cole slaw wasnt that good. But he still loved going there He loved the bar chairs and was really happy with his whiskey sour sweet and his Smith and Kearns. He loves when bartenders can make the oldies but goodies. We cant wait to go back again this summer. It was a great dinner we had a fabulous time.
Stayed at the Breakwater Inn and Spa. Such a beautiful place. Food was excellent. Presentation, price, and menu were great. Service top notch. Very attentive. Price good for quality of food. View fantastic. Quiet, good for conversation. Went in winter so no problem getting a table! I would highly recommend Stripers.
Went with my girlfriend on a Friday night in January, not a very busy time in kennebunkport lol. We were the only ones in the restaurant but it was a very cozy, romantic spot for dinner right on the water. The food was phenomenal, the service was fantastic, they were so friendly and kind, it was our first time in kennebunkport so it was just a very nice experience. It's a great spot for dinner if you're in that area, highly recommend.
Nice restaurant in a cute little town. I’m staying in the Breakwater Inn and didn’t want to go far for dinner. My boyfriend and I shared a meal and got the pork schnitzel, which was very tasty.
Service was the greatest!
We enjoyed thanksgiving dinner this year at Stripers. We had the latest seating. The menu options were great. I chose this restaurant because it included a selection on the menu that I know my husband would enjoy. He does not eat poultry or meat and most thanksgiving menus have very limited options. The service was excellent, very friendly staff. Food was excellent and plenty. It was a 3 course fixed price menu and price was very fair. The chef even prepared us each a turkey sandwich to go so we could enjoy holiday leftovers. A real unexpected treat!
Everything was extremely disappointing. We were spending Thanksgiving there and had the thanksgiving meal special at $55.00 per person.
First, a Cesar salad was served without any dressing and the onion soup barely tasted or looked anything like an onion soup.
Next, for the main course we ordered the Thanksgiving meal which included turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts with carrots. The turkey was some type of processed turkey roll, not fresh turkey meat carved from a bone!!! It was terrible! The stuffing and the mashed potatoes were ok (and the portions were overly abundant), but the Brussel sprouts were tasteless and the carrot undercooked. We both left half of our meal on our plates.
For dessert we ordered the pecan pie and Apple Crisp. The pecan pie was a small, cold piece, while the Apple Crisp looked like a plate of canned apples with a lot of oatmeal on top.
It was an outrageous cost for such a poor meal.
We were also guests at the Inn and received a complimentary breakfast, which was the usual bread assortment, except for some yogurt.
We would never go back to Stripers nor would we recommend it to anyone.
Our only compliment is that the staff were all very friendly. And it is situated on the river, with a nice view of the ocean from some, but not all, tables.
Overall an okay experience. Probably more of a summer place as the inside has no ambiance. Some dishes that were served were entirely different than what was listed on menu and there was no recognition or apology of that.
Took an hour for the apps (not crowded by any stretch) and the waitress stated that she gave one of our apps to another table but didn't bring our second app in the meantime or offer anything while we waited. Then proceeded to bring me the wrong salad which was my main course with added fish. Food was ok. I won't go back or recommend. Overall a very lackluster experience.
Not a fan of this spot with mediocre food and haphazard service style. Will not return.
New to the area and decided to check them out. Made reservation for 8 pm and arrived early to have a drink or two in the bar. The bartender was inattentive, and was more interested in leaving by 9 pm then waiting on the customer she had there at 7:30. The Maitre'd came to the rescue after a 10 minute wait. Took our order and came back with our drinks in hand. He was the reason we stayed. After one drink we decided to move on to our table for dinner.
Now for dinner, I am not a professional chef nor do I claim to be, but when it comes to cooking, I do put out good food night after night, so I believe I know what it takes to put out proper food. We order the following items and were frustrated with each thing. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts, though the flavor was there they were not crispy, soggy was more like it, the Brussels Sprouts were over cooked and some were burnt. House Cured Gravlax on toast points with fried Capers here again great idea but bad execution. The toast points were not toast points but white bread pieces and the fried Capers were over done and burnt leaving a bitter taste. Ceasar Salad was bland, what more can I say. Now the Grilled Filet Medallions with Yukon Duchess Potatoes and String beams. The Medallions were spot on, tender and properly cooked but the Yukon Duchess Potatoes were made ahead and microwaved. How do I know, the out side was cool and the inside was steaming hot. The outer layer becomes tough and rubbery. The String Beans were ok though they could have been better.
The dessert was the highlight of the meal, the chocolate tart was excellent. What a beautiful place, and good atmosphere, if only they could have pull the meal together it would have been well worth it.
Good food and service but totally lacking in ambience. Did not like table design with stainless steel edge allowing unhygienic trapping of food between metal and wood.

Felt like we were at a diner. Greeted, not with hello or welcome, but a crass ‘do you have a reservation?’ Before we had finished with our appetizer, the main course was served. Before finishing our entree, we were asked if we wanted dessert. This was speed dating with food, not fine dining. We have dined at Stripers consistently. This was definitely our last visit.
Over priced common food. We could have had a better meal at a cheaper price for quite a bit less.
The waitress had no knowledge of the menu. The atmosphere was very plain. The food was ok but nothing special.
Great food! Very balanced menu with many options. Lobster roll is done with a lemon mayo based dressing which was very light. Waiter did know the wine list well but was unknowledgeable about the signature cocktail offerings. The view at sunset is postcard perfect!
Spent the evening at Stripers for my girlfriends birthday. Service and ambiance was perfect. Lobster tacos are amazing here! Had to order a second round because of how delicious they were. Mocktail of the Pineapple-Ginger was perfect. Excellent beer/wine/craft cocktail selection. Exceeded expectations from our server and management-especially Derek Hunt who provided a memorable experience. Thank you! We will most certianly be returning very soon.
We hadn't been to Kennebunkport in years and Stripers was recommended to us. We had a cocktail outside and watched the sun set over the water. The restaurant is situated at the entrance to the harbor and the view is quite special. We had dinner at a table facing the water. The food was very good.
Catherine(waitress) was very helpful and professional. We had Lobsters as a main course which was absolutely delicious. Dessert menu variety is not enough. I recommend to add few more choices. The Blueberry Cobbler's crumb was undercooked. Parking sign should be posted.
The server was rushed and seemed like all she wanted was to leave for the night. It was only 7:00pm.
I never write reviews but feel compelled to do so. I've gone to Stripers several times on visits to Kennebunkport with my family. It's been great before, but this time it was terrible. The food was edible but not good at all. The service was friendly but missed at every turn. My "dry" gin martini tasted as if it was half vermouth. My husband's allegedly dirty martini was perfecty clean without even a hint of olive brine; indeed, it didn't have a single olive in it. The menu on the website bore almost no relation to the menu at the restaurant. My husband, who had been looking forward to the carbonara, had some bland scallops instead. And he got little help from our server on an alternative recommendation. That's because, while she was very sweet, she doesn't "eat seafood," so she couldn't make a recommendation between scallops and whatever the other, unmemorable option was. Every server at this seaside spot should have a seafood recommendation. But the food issues went beyond the fish. The steak I ordered "as rare as reasonable for the cut" came out burned on the edges, gray throughout, and so dry I had to gulp down my Cabernet to make it palatable. My mom's burger, supposedly "medium rare," arrived burnt to a crisp on one side and, again, gray throughout. All of that made it tough to enjoy a relatively pricey meal. The one positive that comes to mind is that, even though the restaurant did not have the cheesecake dessert listed on the menu, the chef made a quick blueberry cobbler for us instead. The cobbler was delicious. The evening, overall, was a disaster.
We arrived for dinner, got menus and breadbasket handed. Then we were left to our own devices for 25 min. After which we left the restaurant. So nothing negative on the food - but service there was none.
Had tried this place few years ago and wasn't impressed. Tried again last night and sadly it's no better. Lobster roll had way too much bread and fries were cold and soggy. Wife had scallops but hey were cut into "coin shape", very thin, not good. Lobster tacos very good but was all scraps of lobster, no large pieces. Great place to have drinks overlooking the river, but there are better places in KPT for dinner
We went there for the lobster pie which their website said they had. We were informed that that was no longer on the menu. Then I asked for one of their special teas. It was made with a mint tea which the waitress came back to say they didn't have. Then we wanted espresso and we were told their espresso machine was down. The plain coffee we ended up with was lukewarm. Overall not a satisfying adventure. We will not go back.
The view at Stripers is spectacular. From our table we could see the sun setting over the river. The restaurant has large glass windows that offer excellent views. The food was good, but not great. My wife's tuna steak was undercooked and sent back. My salmon was swimming in sauce. The blueberry cobbler with ice cream was served cold ... good for some, but we had already sampled several excellent cobblers at other restaurants in the area that were served warm.
Haven't been to this restaurant in a few years and was very disappointed with the changes. It's more of a hotel restaurant rather then a nice restaurant with a hotel. Staff catered more to the hotel guests and parties then to customers from outside, even with an Open Table reservation.
And the Maitre'd was so full of himself, he looked like a Monty Python skit.
You can't eat the view. Would have liked to give this a good review but the food and wait service were very disappointing. Bland , unseasoned baked chicken, tough cut of steak and coffee that could pass as tea. The waitress seeing we left over most of the food and coffee, never once asked us if everything was satisfactory. The view was lovely though. Go for drinks and skip dining here.
We were so excited to go here based upon reviews, we were a party of 4. Upon arriving, two of the four cocktails were prepared wrong by bartender. When we were ready to order, we were informed that the Lobster Pie was no longer being served although it appeared on their menu. That was the reason we made reservations there. The lobster dumplings had no lobster in them that we could find, but the fresh steamed lobster and lobster tacos were good. The dessert was also a disappointment
as the feature dessert, a blueberry cobbler was served stone cold. We were so excited to spend the evening enjoying dinner and were so disappointed. I will say that the young lady who served us was adorable and attentive. It was hard to take out our frustration on such a lovely hard working waitress, and we didn't. Not her fault and she was tipped generously. Honestly our experience didn't live up to our expectation.
Just visiting for a couple of days. Looking for a memorable meal with a good view and a nice afternoon. Booked on Open Table, but nobody there when we arrived.
Lazy man's lobster dish, which we saw on the online menu, was no longer available. So, we ordered the whole lobsters.
The lobsters were delivered with so much water dripping, I had to empty my plate into the lobster accessory bucket sitting on the table so I wouldn't ruin my blouse. Embarrassing thing to do when at a nice restaurant. Our waitress did not come back outside too much..... I couldn't wait for her assistance or my lobster would've gotten cold.
Also, they delivered french fries before the lobster, so they were cold. Sorry, but in a high end area, why couldn't they think of something more pleasurable than french fries?
Last a very small smattering of cole slaw.
