Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

What Insiders Are Saying
Strip House is a vibey downtown bordello of goodness, and is the antithesis to the things we hate about a place like Sparks or The Palm.
Awesome experience as always. Went with the family for my daughter’s birthday and as always the food, service and ambiance were top notch, resulting in a memorable experience for the whole family!
love the bar st strip house.
Always an excellent choice for the food, service and ambiance. It's quite pricy, thus the lower value rating. The steaks were outstanding, as were the sides. My granddaughter loves the chocolate 24 layer cake. We were celebrating her birthday.
Always love coming to the Downtown location of Strip House. Great ambiance for a date, birthday party, anniversary, or dinner out with friends. The food is AMAZING. The bone-in ribeye is tops in my opinion, and the bone-in filet is outstanding if you are feeling filet. The bacon salad is definitely worth sharing as an appetizer, and the goose fat potatoes are next-level. Make no mistake you will drop some coin at this place (it's NYC), but the quality of the food and the experience is well worth the price.
Bacon app is amazing. Great staff and service
Perfect for a special occasion. Although we were asked if it was a special day and responded affirmatively, nothing was ever mentioned.
Food was fantastic as well as the service.
Service was not very attentive
It was so wonderful!! We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary and treated us so well!! Food was amazing and didn’t take too long to come out!! Amazing!
Great summer menu: watermelon and feta salad, steak, strawberry shortcake.
Memorable steak. Very helpful with resolving original table selection. Overall a place I’d return to, but expect a large bill.
We had a wonder birthday celebration
It was a great night. Esme (forgive the spelling) was fantastic, the sommelier, manager, all very attentive and provided great service. It was our anniversary and they made it very special.
The host was excellent! When the waitress fell short, he swooped in and made it all better.
The meat was good but too much pepper than usual
A bottle of wine has become so expensive...
I was so looking forward to this place bc the photos looked great. The shrimp cocktail was amazing! The steak was perhaps the worst I have ever had in my adult. Life. Thin and tasteless for 55. Reminded me of the outback steakhouse I visited in my e as early 20s.
Our experience at Strip House was outstanding! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and taken right to our table. Our server, Carlos, was fantastic! We had an allergy in our group and he was very sensitive and accommodating to her, making sure to inform us of items we could have as well as what items could be modified for the allergy.... top notch service! And the food... from appetizers to dessert, everything was delicious. The steaks were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Managers stopping by the table to check in on us really put this experience over the top. Highly recommend!
Fantastic service - and food is always good!
We LOVED our waiter!
The waiter was annoyingly pushy. Bad ordering experience.
The meat was not tasty and gave me abdominal pain. Even though I ended up buying $25 gift card (value $50) I will not go back
Everything perfect. Quality of steaks unmatched anywhere. Service outstanding--professional and personable.
It was a last minute night out. Every aspect of our dining experience exceeded our expectations. The manager, Luke, was gracious and checked on us throughout the meal. Our server was knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be back.
The food was excellent and the service was even better. Loved the old school atmosphere too. I took my 2 teenaged daughters there for dinner and we had a blast.
Food was ok but not great. Steaks were not as good as other well renowned establishments. 24 layer chocolate was the real deal. Very attentive service.
The steak was exactly how we asked for, medium rare. The potatoes were delicious. An addition to the menu for that day was the salmon tartar that was fresh and taste amazing. Our wine was selected by our waiter, which by the way taste great, but he was also pretty awesome and very attentive.
LOVE THIS PLACE! Literally the best steak in NYC - forget Peter Luger or Keens. Just come here. Our food was the best, the wine was great, the service was outstanding! LOVE LOVE LOVE! :)
Always a fantastic experience at Strip House. Esma is a terrific server, the best, and the food quality is always consistently great!
If you’re ever in lower Manhattan looking for a great steak, with super friendly service and really good cocktails, you must try the Strip House on 12th street! The steaks are amazing and cooked to perfection! Save some steak or sides to take home because when all is said and done, you absolutely must try the 24 layer Chocolate Cake! It is to die for!
Honestly, I was expecting to have the best steak of my life, but was sadly disappointed as my Filet was overcooked. Sides were, eh--just OK. Dinner for two, 2 drinks each, no appetizers, ended up being almost over $300. Nothing to rave about. Wouldn't go back nor recommend.
It was great
Very pricey, but wonderful service and excellent food.
Cabernet was ridiculously priced bottles
Been here several times and always awesome. This time our service was not on par with previous excellence. Busing was excellent but lead waiter was not strong from the outset. Food was great and atmosphere also great
Look when you've been a NY institution for as long as Strip House has, even on a quiet Sunday with we assume second-shift chefs and cooks in the kitchen, you ought to know how to broil lamb chops and offer a decent portion. Compared to their peers at Del Frisco's, Keens, and Old Homestead, instead of a nice crisp exterior (i.e. nicely but delicately charred) and medium rare interior with a three two-bone-in lamb chops, I got 3 single-bone-in chops; Strip House let us down big time. You're right....we should have said something but how to explain to people who should know the steak business...."You know, this order of
rack of lamb that you brought out looks nothing like anything I've ever been served before across a dozen
5-star steak places"....how do you even begin that conversation? So we kept our mouths shut and
paid almost $90 per person (ridiculous, we know) for no drinks, no dessert, no appetizers.....just two
entrees and two sides. Too much for way too little. Meanwhile, service was exemplary and it was quiet and calm versus the din at Keens and subway station atmosphere at Del Frisco's.....but that still ain't worth $90 a head.
Everything was as great as I remember it having been since the last time we were there, which was probably about 20-25 years ago. Of course the prices increased, but there is nothing you can do about that. The Passion Fruit Margarita was delish!
The hostess and reception staff are a disaster. Wait staff are great .
Just not sure why this place is packed. My fillet was mealy Can’t explain. No flavor. No juices coming out of my steak. It’s the only steak place in village area. But really mediocre food.
Best steaks in NYC. PERIOD.
Service was excellent.
Expensive and worth it.
This was the latest of a dozen or so trips to the Strip House. Prices are high, even for NY steakhouses, but the quality is as good as you can get. We were seated promptly. Service was acceptable but not really up to the restaurant's usual standards. Our waiter was absent for long periods and didn't visit our table for 5 minutes after our steaks were served to check if they were properly done (they weren't; we had to send one back to the kitchen). We started with little necks and oysters which were very good, then ribeye (excellent as usual after it was put back on the grill) and New York strip (very good but not as special as the ribeye). We had charred broccoli but were not told that it was served with a melted cheese sauce. We should have sent it back. It was also undercooked in addition to having a sauce we didn't care for. I still can't understand why Strip House chooses to play loud soul and pop music for its patrons. It is totally out of sync with the restaurant's decor and ambience and we found it annoying. We will return, because the ribeye is outstanding, but the place could be more than it is with a few tweaks.
Excellent steak! Absolute heaven if you are a steak lover. The veggies were great too!
Rather on the pricey side, but what can you expect at a great New York steakhouse
Family of five had a great time. Thanks
