Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

What Insiders Are Saying
Strip House is a vibey downtown bordello of goodness, and is the antithesis to the things we hate about a place like Sparks or The Palm.
Excellent food and service! A little tight and tables a bit close together, but overall would definitely recommend.
Service was prompt and impeccable. The dry age Porterhouse, dry age ribeye and filet steaks were outstanding. The staff made us feel welcome and extra special.
Hands down the best steak house in NYC.
Food and Service are always amazing! A little quiet but it was Sunday night.
Phenomenal!! Highly recommend the goose fat potatoes and creamed spinach!
Great service. Excellent filet mignon. Clams casino were OK.
The service was first class the waiters were very watching and making sure you were happy with the meal the quality of food was very good with big portions
Table wasn’t what I expected but enjoyable nonetheless.
Best in the business. And that's saying a lot in NYC where there are good steakhouses everywhere.
My husbands NY strip was amazing.... I got a NY strip too and it was under cooked so she sent it back. When I got the steak back the outside was so tough that it ruined the steak for me :( everything else was amazing.
Thanksgiving dinner was amazing!
We arrived at the restaurant and they could not find our open table reservation. They tried to then seat us in an undesirable table, we asked for a different table and waited at the bar until a better table was ready, after waiting at the bar we were seated in a booth and our experience was good.
After making a reservation well in advance, a month in fact, and being an open table VIP for years we were given THE WORST table in the restaurant. Back by the kitchen doors and basically Strip a House Siberia. I was embarrassed in front of my colleagues who also commented on this apparent lack of ‘juice’.
Have been here a few times and enjoyed the ambiance. This time? However, they had an eight year old birthday party with children running down the hall screaming.
Delicious as always
The goose fat potatoes and black truffle spinach were top notch. I tried both the filet mignon and the strip and preferred the filet mignon. The 24 layer chocolate cake is massive and can be shared among many. Everything is very rich and decadent. I would recommend.
Food was excellent. Waiter Carlos was really funny.
Great service although it dropped off at the end when they realized we may not be buying a lot more- forgot our last drink order but it came after we paid the bill.
The steaks were perfect. Truffled creamer spinich amazing, goose fat potatoes slightly overdone but still delishious. Chocolate Cake expensive and gigantic and nothing to write home about.
Awesome, possibly the best steak I've ever had and service was excellent
Great restaurant, Great for special occasions!
Had a wonderful girls night dinner here. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. The ricotta gnocchi app was to die for!
Very busy. Very noisy. Extremely hit or miss with food and service. AC is blowing directly on you. Tables are too close to each other and waiters bump into you constantly. Won’t go back.
there was 5 of us.... 3 of us shared the 55 oz Tomahawk steak which was highly recommended by our server.... It was terrible.... We had to send it back twice because it wasn't cooked and was actually cold. Then the steak was fatty and very tough....Not tasty at all.... At least they didn't charge us the $155. The rest of the food was excellent and the rib eye steak that our other two guests had was very good.
Beautiful old style but new stake house. Great atmosphere. Great service. And we loved everything we ate. We started with clams casino and Cesar salad. Clams casino where one of the best ones we ever had. Than we had stake special tomahawk ribeye that was over the top. Really good quality meat perfectly cooked. As a sides we did asparagus and french fries both really good we really liked fresh herbs taste on the fires. Drinks whre great too and they have good wine list. We would definitely come back!
The tomahawk ribeye was not prepared as instructed. The bread was stale.
Great spot the service is exceptional and the food was delicious
Delicious food. Will definitely be back. Met friends from out of town that absolutely loved it.
Strip House Downtown was OK. We shared a Caesar Salad that was supposed to be split in the kitchen but wasn’t. Ordered filet mignons, crispy goose fat potatoes, and the brussel sprouts with maple sriracha. Can’t really say how good the filets were since our tastebuds were numb from the sriracha. The sriracha overwhelmed the taste of the steak and potatoes. 24-layer chocolate cake was very good. Overall an OK experience but we’ve had better dinners at other steakhouses in NYC.
Awesome food great atmosphere
The steaks here are amazing. Cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and so delicious! The sides are large. We had the Strip House Potatoes which were so creamy and delicious. We also had the creamed corn...it had pancetta in it and was creamy, full of corn and oh so awesome!
This trip we skipped the 24 layer chocolate cake. Don’t EVER skip this cake. Take it to go but don’t ever skip it.
Strip House on East 12th Street is the definition of a neighborhood gem; and being tucked away on a side street is the village doesn't keep the place from being a favorite go-to destination of red meat fans looking for one of the best steakhouse meals in the city. My favorite Strip House meal includes the Burrata appetizer, The Grass-fed Filet and a couple of glasses of the Montepulciano. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday night, ask if Dane is working, because he is the best waiter ever.
We celebrated a birthday at Strip House. The service and staff were amazing- welcoming, checking on us, making sure we were happy and well taken care of. The food was delicious. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were cocooned in our booth, almost unaware of other diners. A great experience.
Both the service and the food never disappoint! Their steak is very tasty and juicy, even the way that my husband and I like it: butterflied and well. I really appreciate that the chef (and management) do not have that "it's cooked my way or none at all" attitude because I believe that we are the ones paying for it and eating it...we should have it cooked the way we like. Generally, we are the only ones in the group who eat it that way. Not only does Striphouse cook it perfectly, but they do so with such a lovely attitude!
Their twice baked potatoes are to die for!!! Desserts are also good, not too sweet. I love desserts, but do not like it when they overload it with sugar. Theirs are divine! Hubby and I go as often as possible.
Service was attentive and the steaks were excellent.
Ambiance and bar pre-dinner were good. Wildly overordered sides w/o guidance from waiter, who was otherwise very pleasant and friendly. Wine list is very expensive, w/o a lot of sub- $100 options. Good experience went south with delivery of a not-overdone but otherwise very tough “dry-aged” NY Strip.
Arrival was great....got checked in and had a drink at the bar. Good drinks. Biggest complaint was our table. It was almost like it was an afterthought - placed between the dining room and the bar, with non stop server and dining traffic all night long. I should have said no to it but my son had plans after dinner. I was constantly getting bumped by servers and people walking by....so it was annoying. Server was fine....upsold us on the wine which was good and the steaks. Food was good. He got more inattentive as the night went on....took a long time to get coffee and desserts. Basically we paid too much for what we got IMHO and I am not that picky....but it was still a nice dinner and yes, I would try it again.
Expensive but soooooo worth it! Steaks are prepared with a delicious seasoning (you can request without). Service is always beyond.
The quality of the steak was not prime. The goose fat potatoes were mediocre and served lukewarmly. Way overpriced for what was served. The owners must be making a fortune but mediocrity does not last. I will not be coming back.
I usually do higher end steak 2-3 times a year. This was my 4th visit in 5 months. Quality of the cuts are on par with Homestead and other similarly priced steak houses, but without the loud, lewd, obnoxious cast of background extras from Goodfellas. Same goes for the staff, classy, polite people. Try the Tomohawk. Definitely worth it.
