Strip House is a vibey downtown bordello of goodness, and is the antithesis to the things we hate about a place like Sparks or The Palm.
Our meal was fantastic and Carlos was excellent! The lobster bisque is a must!
This review is for the downtown location. My new favorite place in NYC. Of all the steak houses, this one is best. It is much quieter, the wait staff super friendly and helpful. The sommelier was very helpful and didn't try to upsell me as they often do. Our waitress was so friendly and charming. My date loved the place. I have been to mid-town as well for a business lunch and highly recommend it. They have a lighter fare which is very good of you're not looking for a steak lunch.
I've been to Strip House in Las Vegas many times and this was my first chance to visit one of the NY locations. It didn't disappoint. LOVE LOVE LOVE the food.
Bad experience. We were running a few minutes late, so we called. The hostess said “we will hold your table for 15 minutes.” We arrived only 3 minutes late but then waited 25 minutes for our table. Our waiter was condescending and inattentive. After bringing the bottle of wine and pouring the initial glass, he never refilled my glass. Our food was just okay, and not worth the price we paid. We have had much better steak and tuna at Del Friscos. We will not return.
Classic old NYC style steak house. Amazing food and great atmosphere make this a perfect spot for dates to business dinners. They execute a perfect steak. All drinks are served in the proper glass and mixed well
I have been here twice in last few months and had a great server and one that seemed to want to be elsewhere. Too bad because the service from everyone else in the restaurant was top notch.
I have the best date ever with my mom plus also my 37 birthday celebration!!!!! The wine, the tartare, the STEAK.... oh Jesus!!!! And of course the decadent 20 layers chocolate cake... OVER THE TOP....
We were squeezed in between two other tables. The waiter was rude and paid little/no attention to us. I will not go back and for $265 for 2 people I should have a much better experience.
Steaks very acceptable. Ambience ok but heating was turned up towards the end of the evening to make it uncomfortable!
Excellent easter dinner with family. Definitely not cheap but you pay for what you get which is an excellent meal. Would strongly recommend.
Another restaurant RUINED BY TILLMAN FERTITTA
Used to be a great place, authentic and quality food...
He’s ruined another one.
Check out all of your old restaurants and make sure he has nothing to do with them..
If he does??? Stay away...
Mass production of crappy food...
He’s already ruined some great eateries...
Check before you go !!!!
Generic horrible food... and service..
Fantastic as always
Always a great experience.
A wonderful old school steakhouse with excellent service. The steak and side dishes were cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and does include reasonable quality wines at an affordable price. The photos lining the walls are a testament to the long standing success of the restaurant.
The steak was good. Loved the cut having filet on one side and bone the other. Bacon was probably top 2 I've ever tasted. Wait can't forget about the signature 24 layer chocolate cake. My waiter was snark and rude to my guest didn't care for him much. Besides that I loved the pictures on the walls although I felt the red ambient lighting started to become a little overwhelming it maybe it was because of my waiter idk.
Strip House is a very sexy place for the best steaks in town. They are creative with their menu, and the staff is very friendly. Especially Danielle.
Food was excellent. The service and the prices for the sides left a bit of a bitter taste
Lively steakhouse. Every table filled, so a bit noisy. The steak was perfect and the service commendable. Had not been there for a few years. It has stood the test of time.
The service was wonderful. The food not so much. We ordered the tomahawk steak and it was very chewy and not flavorful. The highlight of the meal was the 24 layer chocolate cake...sooo chocolatey and not overly sweet.
A reliably great meal - perfect steaks and great sides. Love the charred broccoli. Atmosphere and service top notch. Expensive but that’s par for the course with steakhouses like this.
Good looking steakhouse, best fillet with bones I ever have eaten... Interesting people... I will jion again
Amazing experience all the time!! Food, Service & Ambiance.
Took an extra 45 mins to be seated from reservation time. Seems they tend to overbook. Food was fabulous though and in the end worth the wait
Everything was amazing. From the butternut squash amuse, to the tomahawk steak and the amazing 24 layer chocolate cake. Every bite was a winner. Our server, Asma, was a delight. Knowledgeable, efficient and a joy. The manager even came by our offer a kind word and check in on how our meal was going. It was a perfect evening, I will definitely be going back!
It was pretty quite because we went at 5pm. Service was good. Food was great. Dishes to share were a bit expensive though.
Great to take my dad for a proper New York experience. Food is incredible, I’m not even a steak guy, but here, you can’t not be. Pricey, but excellent.
Dinner last night was amazing! I'm in town for work and just happened to hear about it from a colleague. Had the best ribeye I've had I a long time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a classic NY experience.
It was a birthday dinner and Strip House did not disappoint. Even added the extra candle to the giant chocolate cake.
Nice atmosphere and attentive service. Steaks were well-cooked. Nice choice of dishes. Wish the music had not been as loud.
Steak was delicious as usual and the sides were superb! My favorite steakhouse by far.
Great food! Beautiful restaurant.
This was for years my favorite steakhouse in NYC. Everything was perfection. We had not been back for a few years and we were so disappointed. From the Vodka Tonic being made with a soda gun, the overpriced wine list, sad bread basket, greasy french fries we were let down through out the dinner. The steak was still very good but I found the size of the steak to be much smaller than I remembered.
Our server was very good. The Strip House Roasted Bacon was great. The marrow bone was very good but not quite as flavorful as I had hoped. The Strip House potatoes and the black truffle creamed spinach were absolutely amazing! The 12oz filet was very slightly disappointing. It was not quite as tender or juicy as I had hoped. Ovarall, a good experience.
this place went way down hill in the past few years. i used to love it but the last two times went there i was very disappointed.
Delicious dinner great vibe, and the history on the walls add to a great experience
Great service. As always the drinks, wine , dinner and dessert —delicious. Worth the extravagance! We come here for so many special dinners with our family!
Always a pleasure eating at Strip House. The food and the service are consistently great. I look forward to my next meal there!
The food is great, and the steak is really good. The bread before the meal is quite awesome. However, the service is quite mediocre. No one fills our water until we ask. The waiter speaks quite fast and does not smile. Would recommend take out instead of dine in.
Excellent - food, service and ambience
Beautiful restaurant red lit dining room amazing dinner an dessert we will be. Back!
Valentine’s Day dinner is as expected in a popular restaurant. Service was slower due to a full house.
