Service including hostess was all business. No warmth in greeting or service. Too bad because food was excellent but the service, especially the very rude hostess, overshadowed what could have been a wonderful evening. Requested a special table because both me and my guest are hearing impaired. Request was disregarded and we were placed at a very loud table by the bar!
great atmosphere and food. best service we received in new York. at the higher price range but the evening was worth it.
Good food, knowledgeable servers.
We went as a party of 6 for an anniversary
Celebration. Very nice
The menu is very good. The steaks are particularly good and the choice of wines was very extensive. Would visit again.
A little quieter than normal but still an excellent meal. The steak and sides were perfects, desserts solid as well.
Food almost inedible- service totally lacking, told server we had to leave at a certain time which gave us over an hour and we were rushed because order was not put and food not properly cooked.
BEST STEAK IN NYC WITH INCREDIBLE SIDES. GREAT SERVICE TOO
The ambiance is super. Old school steakhouse with red leather seating and low lighting. Ordered the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The mushrooms were also delicious. For dessert, the Baked Alaska was incredible, definitely a great choice for an old school dessert!
Excellent service and probably the best steak I ever ate. Lots of empty tables so I’m not sure why we were sat so close to the kitchen (we had reservations) but otherwise a great meal.
Great Nyc steak!!
Fantastic General manager
Took 4 customers to lunch. Ordered a NY Stip but asked that it not be peppered like they normally do. I don’t like my steaks overly peppered. One of my customers ordered the same steak but seasoned as they normally season it. Needless to say they were both seasoned the same. The did offer to make me a new steak. It did not have the time to wait and didn’t want to keep my customers waiting. I ate about 50% of it but shouldn’t have. My stomach was in shambles well into the next morning. No adjustment was made to my bill.
Great quality steak competent service
Great steak and top notch service.
It was good and delicious as usual! Ordered bacon for starters and then ordered it once again! It was super tasty!!!
Excellent. Best steak in NYC
I love the downtown location and thought I would try midtown. I ordered a ribeye, but they brought me a strip steak. I absolutely know my cuts of meat, but the manager tried to man-splian to me that I was in fact served a strip steak. I didn’t feel like a confrontation, so I didn’t argue, but I clearly didn’t receive what I ordered and then had to deal with a condescending manager. I will stick with the downtown location and forgot about this one altogether.
Fantastic! Excellent food, superior service.
We were celebrating a birthday, which I had noted in the reservation. Our fantastic server remembered, and put a candle in the 24-layer cake for us. :)
It took way too long to be seated. My reservation was at 7:30, and we weren't seated for over half an hour.
The service was marked fair because despite the delay, our waiter was AMAZING. He made up for not being seated timely.
The food was very good. Loved the 24-layer cake.
However, won't be recommending because of the seating issue, the lack of room at the bar for my party to wait, and the noise factor.
Slow service, over seasoned steak
The place-style with simplicity, the service, the outstanding food
The food and Service was amazing and well worth every penny.
Thomas is a great waiter. The hostess was also very attentive
Compare last visit Strip steak house at 13E 12street, I am a bit disappointed caused I ordered steak medium was over cook and the meat very hard. My friend ordered dry age new york strip the meat was a bit gone with strange smell.
The food and service at Strip House was top notch. Couldn't have asked for better.
My issue was with the decorations on the wall. No where in the advertisement for the restaurant does is mention that there are hundreds of pictures of half-naked women in all sorts of inappropriate poses. I did not think the name of the restaurant would be a such an obvious play on words.
My wife and our 13-year old daughter were on our way to see a Broadway show and I booked this restaurant because of the rave reviews on the food and service. So please take caution if you have younger people with you. Of course the restaurant has every right to display this pictures on the wall.
We have every right to know they're there.
Why would you need to visit the same NY restaurant during your visit? Because the food was THAT good.
This was a disappointing experience. We were pleasantly surprised to be moved from a small table for two to a booth, but that was the only unexpectedly nice thing about the evening. Our server was brusque, the special appetizer (bone marrow) lacked flavor, and the medium rare steak my husband ordered first came medium, then came cold through the middle when he requested a replacement. The manager did adjust some of our bill, though it was pricey nonetheless, especially given the disappointing food. The two sides (creamed spinach and goose fat potatoes) were good, as was my lamb shank.
Old school decorations and old school excellent food. All delicious - steaks and seafood. Notable wine list. Close to Grand Central.
Horrible food. Server was pushing 40oz piece of meat for a table of 2 people, in addition to 2 side dishes.
Our server Thomas was great and attentive. The food was great!
We were visiting NYC for our anniversary and saw this place near our hotel so we made reservations. It was excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to NY. I loved the food and the ambiance. The burlesque photos and wallpaper are so interesting and just seem to fit there. I’ll go back on my next visit.
Very dissapointed. Have been to the sister restaurant in Las Vegas and the food, service and ambiance was much better there. If you are looking for a good steak with good service in New York DO NOT GO TO STRIP HOUSE. There are a lot better options
Wonderful food and service. We were treated to a great meal by attentive and friendly staff
Took a client for lunch . I had a burger special which was served on 2 huge slabs of bread ? and quite frankly tasted awful..my client had a filet mignon which he didn’t finish
Both dishes were extremely overpriced and . Ambience sucked. There are much better steak house options in the area which are less pretentious and much better value
The most delicious steak I've ever had! The truffled creamed spinach is to die for.
Great food, wait staff and bartender excellent. Food first rate. Had a great time
The New York Strip was passable, but not distinctive. The alternatives in midtown are too strong for me to go to the strip house again.
I took my sister to celebrate her birthday and we had an amazing time. This location is so much nicer and roomier than the 12th Street location. The food was excellent but the price is a little high, so I would recommend it for a special occasion or business lunch. We did of course ordered the 24 layer cake and it was out of this world. I've had it once before when it was 21 layers and it was quite intimidating. We loved it and will be back.
