About Strip House Midtown
A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Midtown where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. And be sure to save room for the famed 24-Layer Chocolate Cake.
Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

Strip House Midtown Ratings and Reviews
Our waitress also doubled as a bartender which made service very slow, and we asked multiple times for a bread basket and upon receiving it there were only 3 pieces of bread included. Upon observing others receiving baskets they were full with all types of breads that weren’t included for ours
Great as always! Meat was beyond delicious and cooked to perfection. Great wine list with decent prices for Manhattan. Service was really good too as she was very engaging and gave good recommendation. For business, date or every day dining, it’s always a good choice to come here!
We thought it would be just another NY steakhouse. We were wrong. From the moment we walked in, we were captured by the ambience and warmth of the speakeasy style decor. Great menu; the clams casino were fabulous, with a little kick of jalapeño for that something special. My husband raved about the lobster bisque. Both steaks were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Lots of boutique wineries on their wine list, which was a bit on the pricey side - we managed to find a Shafer 1.5 cab for $197. Most wines were even more expensive. On hindsight we could have done without it but the glasses of wine were $22 each anyway.
Excellent and attentive service throughout the meal.
Overall, an excellent meal, a great experience and we are definitely coming back. They should work on providing a more reasonably priced wine selection.
Overall, the food was good. My Dad had the steak and was moderately impressed and I had the fettuccine and it was delicious. The food is a bit pricey and you could probably get more for your money at other steak restaurants. I probably won't return, but I don't regret dining at this restaurant.
My fourth visit to Striphouse and was not disappointed. Cold day outside but a warm welcome here. Fabulous oysters and a perfectly cooked fillet steak with garlic and herb fries and some charred broccoli. A great Bloody Mary and a delicious glass of Chateauneuf du Pape. Couldn’t fit in dessert but I still have a few more days in New York!!
Strip House was recommended to us by a local after we had made a reservation at another well-known but chain steak restaurant. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and understated, and we were seated as soon as we arrived - on a busy Christmas Eve evening. We would definitely return.
Restaurant was overpriced. It's a wannabee steakhouse. $400 with no alcohol for 3 and was so so. Staff was very accommodating. Truffles spinach was good veggie, and bacon a great appetizer. Steaks were unimpressive. 24 Layer cake is refrigerated cake! For $18. I Don't care how big the slice is - the cake is just a gimmick - not worth $5 a slice. Skip it and go to Sparks or the Palm. Even Ruth Chris or the Capital Grill kills it.
The Strip House was a last-minute reservation on a Saturday evening. It was a great pick! Definitely make a reservation as those that didn't have one were waiting 45-60 minutes. The meal was excellent. We opted for the 24-layer chocolate cake, but got it to go to enjoy back at the room.
We chose the Strip House because it had a chocolate cake that was mentioned on more than one website. The food was above average although the 14 oz. bone-in filet lacked the serious flavor demanded by a $63.00 steak. The side dishes (creamed-corn and creamed spinach) were outstanding.
The reason I won't go back to this restaurant is that the temperature in the dining room was unbearably warm. We addressed the matter with our waiter and the dining room manager. Both of them basically told us there was nothing they could do. The Strip House charges premium steakhouse prices. At that level, they should provide comfort and a great meal.
Most of our group ordered steak. They do it Pittsburg style with a pepper char crust. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sides wew also good, especially the creamed corn. Service was a little slow, especially after it got very crowded, which meant it was noisy. Coffee ordered was very weak. Overall good.
Went there with the family, food and service were outstanding! Cannot say enough about the filet mignon, goose fried potatoes and creamed spinach...just the best. We started our meal with the roasted bacon, yum! We ended our meal with the 24 layer chocolate cake, unbelievable rich and moist. An outstanding meal all around.
Having dined at numerous NYC steakhouses, this is right up there with the best. The traditional menu is still there, but there are fantastic twists and takes on the usual items you'd find at an NYC Steakhouse.
The spicy tuna tartare for starter was fantastic. So fresh & full of flavor! As you'd expect, the top quality steak was superb, matched with a glass of red suggested by the very competent waiter. (The wine list is extensive!).
Price is at the upper end, and quite a noisy night when I dined (a NFL match being watched by very enthusiastic patrons) but would definitely suggest!
This was my second time dining at the Strip House Midtown and it was every bit as wonderful as my first time three years ago. The only problem we had was with one of our waiters: his accent was so thick I had to ask him three times to slow down and repeat what he had said, and he also disappeared and left us sitting for a bit over 25 minutes before we could get our check. So the service was a bit compromised, but the rest of the staff there from the entrance desk all the way to the ones who cleared the table were outstanding. I'll go back when I next visit the city, no doubt.
I would not recommend for an evening out unless it is for business. It appeared to be a drop in for a lot of local business people, very load that made it hard to hear the person opposite. For the food that was served I would have expected to pay less. I have had better steak meals in San Francisco and London both with good quality USA steaks at just over half the cost of here. I would not recommend and would not go again.
