Strip House Midtown
Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

The food is ALWAYS fantastic. However, it can be hit or miss with the waiters. They at times can be very snobbish. Our waiter on 1/17/19 was a bit rude to another waitstaff member and then was a little rude to us when asking about something on the menu.
Great atmosphere and attentive service, but for the PRICE, I’ve had far better steaks at other NYC steakhouses.
Been there a dozen times.. never lets me down !!! ❤️❤️
Strip Steak is a wonderful addition to the dining scene around Times Square. The meat is always crusted in pepper with tons of sides and a great wedge salad. Most importantly the the chocolate cake is absolutely fantastic. In short it is the perfect steak dinner. I did find the service to be on the slow side the night I dined in and was waiting a fair bit of time for food and plates to be cleared and water to be refilled but there were several large parties. Overall though still one of the best steakhouses in NYC.
Walked in and immediately greeted by 2 lovely hostesses. Sammy, our waiter and the rest of the staff was AMAZING. The food was excellent as well. Great decor, artwork & fun black and white photos! Thanks for a great experience.
This is our 4th visit to Strip House and every meal has been delicious and memorable. Nice wine list. Fabulous desserts!
One of the better steak houses in New York. Great for surf and turf and all varieties within. Prices are astronomical, but not in comparison to other such restaurants.
Good service and wine list. Desserts are too heavy considering the main courses
Great food, fine service. We waited a little to be seated.
The steaks and sides were excellent!!
We were very disappointed with our dining experience, especially since our prior experiences at Striphouse Union Square/Village were great. The chopped salad was the worst we ever had. The ribeye was dried out and was dripping with grizzle, the bacon was also over cooked, as was the charred broccoli. An overall disappointing experience.
It seems like this location was made for tourists that would never return again. As a born and raised New Yorker, I can state with no hesitation that this is one place you never need to visit.
Fantastic food in a classic Historical setting and great cocktails with top notch service!
Only one piece of meat was cooked as ordered. They manager adjusted our bill as he agreed.
Excellent repas mais un peu cher même si la viande est vraiment succulente.
Great as usual.
The best salmon I've ever had! To come here just for the famous cake would be a shame. The service, food, atmosphere and amazing cocktails make this place what it is. Delicious, innovative and very sexy. Thank you for the wonderful evening!
Christmas day lunch was simply perfect.
Food was great as was our server who knew how to space time for a group.
Burrata is top notch and the steaks and prime ribs we had were delicious, as were those sweet brussel sprouts.
They are professionals here, with outstanding cooking.
One of NYs top steakhouses
Always have a great meal.
bad service, bad attitude and charged us extra meal
The food was good, but I was underwhelmed by my filet mignon. It was a little dry and for upwards of $60 I expected better. I wasn't a huge fan of their signature "char" on the outside of my steak, though I was offered to not have this done to my steak. The service was great, very attentive. I'd say a little too attentive as we went through drinks, appetizers, dinner and coffee in about an hour. Some people may like this, though I felt a little bit rushed through my meals. All in all, a good experience.
Great as always
The steak I had was good....perhaps a bit better than good, however the cost was on the high side...Ruth Chris still my number one choice over the Strip House in value and quality.
The 12oz Fillet was
Not only was the food incredible but the service was exceptional. Starting with making a special request for a table the manager Courtney went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Thaddeus was a great waiter and was very attentive and energetic. The service here is what brings us back time and time again!
Mother daughter weekend
Dry aged New York strip was fabulous. Definitely in the top 3 steaks I’ve ever had
The appetizers were expensive and not much to them. Crab cake was very small and too much breading. The porter house was cooked perfectly but there was so much black burnt charcoal on it. I dont get it. For the money I would go someplace else. The service was outstanding.
Food was good. Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive. Great experience
Everything was top notch - ambiance, food and the staff. Everyone made us feel special and catered to all our needs.
Everything was awesome from Thadious, our waiter to the food. We nwill return
Food and service was great. They should upgrade and monitor the condition of there bathrooms better.
Service was outstanding. Waiter was attentive and wonderful. Loved my scallops. French fries were a little too salty. Green beans were yummy! Rib eye that my husband had was a little fatty.
Dessert was so delicious.
Great food, outstanding service (tap bold guy was very nice and helpful) awesome atmosphere
The food was fantastic but the service was terrible. Too many tables and waiters couldn’t keep up. We had to speak to the Manager twice - she was fantastic and definitely made changes to the check, but when you’re in Manhattan, paying Manhattan prices, you expect a great service. We were there for 2hrs before we ate our main course. The food was superb and I would go back again/recommend because of that but we were let down badly on the night with service. Manager helped a lot to rectify thankfully.
Good food and service
My wife and I enjoyed the porterhouse steak and creamed spinach, although the potatoes served were not warm. Seated at 7:30 for dinner on a Wednesday night, mid December, the noise level was extraordinarily high throughout the entire dinner that played an impact on our rating. Amanda, our waitress, did a professional job. We'll not return, preferring to identify a more cozy place for dinner next time.
Everything was great! All around amazing steakhouse experience. Knowledgeable server who helped us navigate the menus and gave us great options on sides and wine and desserts. Will def be back.
Stirp House in Las Vegas is one of our very favorite steakhouses in the country. Needless to say, we were extremely excited to try Strip House Manhattan but were extremely disappointed! No chance we'd ever go there again. Most of the staff was relatively friendly however the management was poor and the bartender (woman) was absolutely awful & disrespectful. We were there for our anniversary, which the staff knew about. They didn't care at all at what a special day/event it was for us. Hoping we'll get over our experience before our next trip to Vegas so we can attempt to enjoy that location once again.
Over priced and over rated, don't waste your time. Mastro's is a safe bet in lieu of Strip House.
My husband and I celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary at the Strip House Midtown in early December, 2018, during our annual 3-day Christmas visit to NYC from South Florida. My internet search of the 10 best steak houses in midtown yielded this find, and it was one of the ONLY restaurants that offered 2 different types of strip steak, which is my favorite!
I made reservations on-line the week before with no problem. We were greeted with a smile and seated at a fabulous large corner booth on the 2nd floor at 8:00 pm with no wait.
My husband ordered his usual "Ketel One on the rocks with a couple of olives," and the drink was to the top of the glass, without being overloaded with ice... typically a problem in other places. The Malbec, Luigi Bosca Single Vineyard, Mendoza, 2014 was delicious.
The meal: well, it was spectacular! We split a Caesar salad, which was plenty for us both. Even the croutons were good! The 14-oz. dry-aged pepper-crusted New York strip steak was to die for, and my husband's 8 oz. filet mignon was wonderful. Both ordered medium and cooked perfectly! I LOVED the steak knife! The roasted garlic was a nice treat. The baked potato came with all the extras on the side... including bacon pieces! The complimentary desert plate was much appreciated (a nice touch to celebrate our anniversary with something sweet!)
The server, Thadius, was extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly, as were the two young ladies that greeted us when we came in out of the cold.
After having dined at other famous steak restaurants in Manhattan in the past several years, we will definitely make a visit to the Strip House a yearly tradition from now on!
The food was very good. We were abandoned by our waiter, however. Also, specific requests were overlooked or ignored. (We had asked our waiter to split our crab-loaded iceberg wedge salad and he said that was normally not done, but that he would ask. When the salad arrived it was NOT split but the server who brought it- not our waiter- was happy to take it back and split it when asked. One example....)
The helper servers/busboys were attentive and that saved the day for us.
I had brought a friend there to celebrate his birthday. He is a daily fine dining regular and had never been here before. I wanted to WOW him. He will not be going back, sadly.
Great service - attentive without being overbearing. Delicious simple steaks. I suggest upstairs as it feels a bit more intimate in my opinion.
