About Strip House Midtown
A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Midtown where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. And be sure to save room for the famed 24-Layer Chocolate Cake.
Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

Strip House Midtown Ratings and Reviews
Came here for Valentine’s Day. Got the porterhouse which was ok, the filet part was good but too much pepper overall. I realize they give you that steak sauce because of the lack of flavor of the steak. Fries were ok. The truffles spinach and chocolate cake was the best part. Not sure I’ll be going back considering the price.
Steak was excellent, as were the sides. Drinks weren't bad... Had a martini at the bar and a Manhattan with dinner... $20 drinks but that was expected. Server was great, very attentive. They sat us in a bad table at first, we asked the hostess to change and they obliged. The chocolate cake is good, 50% taste 50% novelty (it's the size of a small child). We ate it for 2 nights after.
Overall it's a good spot... I've been to a few steakhouses in the city and this is certainly better than most and on par with some of the big dogs.
Strip House simply seasons their steaks with salt and pepper because they let their steaks shine. The appetizers are carefully constructed and the flavor combinations are tasty and thoughtful. After an outstanding opening and great steak, the Strip House finishes with a 10 by delivering a heavenly chocolate cake. The dessert tastes like chocolate in all its glorious forms. Go. Eat. Thank me later.
Great food and service. Some confusion around a Porterhouse Steak. Wait staff said it could be butterflied for one. With that a decision was made to order it. It was not clear this was a steak for two cut for one, hence a $128 Porterhouse, that is not a Steak for one. I felt the staff was a bit dishonest. I took the extra home.
Our waitress also doubled as a bartender which made service very slow, and we asked multiple times for a bread basket and upon receiving it there were only 3 pieces of bread included. Upon observing others receiving baskets they were full with all types of breads that weren’t included for ours
Great as always! Meat was beyond delicious and cooked to perfection. Great wine list with decent prices for Manhattan. Service was really good too as she was very engaging and gave good recommendation. For business, date or every day dining, it’s always a good choice to come here!
We thought it would be just another NY steakhouse. We were wrong. From the moment we walked in, we were captured by the ambience and warmth of the speakeasy style decor. Great menu; the clams casino were fabulous, with a little kick of jalapeño for that something special. My husband raved about the lobster bisque. Both steaks were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Lots of boutique wineries on their wine list, which was a bit on the pricey side - we managed to find a Shafer 1.5 cab for $197. Most wines were even more expensive. On hindsight we could have done without it but the glasses of wine were $22 each anyway.
Excellent and attentive service throughout the meal.
Overall, an excellent meal, a great experience and we are definitely coming back. They should work on providing a more reasonably priced wine selection.
Overall, the food was good. My Dad had the steak and was moderately impressed and I had the fettuccine and it was delicious. The food is a bit pricey and you could probably get more for your money at other steak restaurants. I probably won't return, but I don't regret dining at this restaurant.
My fourth visit to Striphouse and was not disappointed. Cold day outside but a warm welcome here. Fabulous oysters and a perfectly cooked fillet steak with garlic and herb fries and some charred broccoli. A great Bloody Mary and a delicious glass of Chateauneuf du Pape. Couldn’t fit in dessert but I still have a few more days in New York!!
Strip House was recommended to us by a local after we had made a reservation at another well-known but chain steak restaurant. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and understated, and we were seated as soon as we arrived - on a busy Christmas Eve evening. We would definitely return.
Restaurant was overpriced. It's a wannabee steakhouse. $400 with no alcohol for 3 and was so so. Staff was very accommodating. Truffles spinach was good veggie, and bacon a great appetizer. Steaks were unimpressive. 24 Layer cake is refrigerated cake! For $18. I Don't care how big the slice is - the cake is just a gimmick - not worth $5 a slice. Skip it and go to Sparks or the Palm. Even Ruth Chris or the Capital Grill kills it.
The Strip House was a last-minute reservation on a Saturday evening. It was a great pick! Definitely make a reservation as those that didn't have one were waiting 45-60 minutes. The meal was excellent. We opted for the 24-layer chocolate cake, but got it to go to enjoy back at the room.
