About Strip House Midtown
A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Midtown where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

Strip House Midtown Ratings and Reviews
From the moment we walked in to the minute we left, we felt welcomed. Our waitress Erica was amazing. She took her time with us and made us feel like we were old friends. The treated my daughter wonderfully and that to me, means everything. We were surprised with a couple of glasses of port with dessert. Truly a great evening. Thank you Erica and thank you Strip !
Dinner was good the steak seasoning was different all in all the steak was good. The sides were perfect to share for the two of us. Twice baked potatoes were full of taste and the asparagus was just as good. The price was right with a couple glasses of wine and and appetizer to start off and our meal. Our table was ready when we expected seated without waiting. The staff was friendly and prompt.
Outstanding meal with excellent sides. I started with French Onion soup, which was outstanding. The steaks are served with a black pepper crust, which I'd never had before, and imy filet was delicious, especially with the Bearnaise sauce that we ordered. We also ordered the corn and potatoes au gratin as sides, and they were delicious as well. When we asked to take our extra bearnaise sauce home, they gave us a container of fresh sauce, which was really nice. I am anxious to eat here again.
We made an early reservation as this was pre-theater dinner. A few tables were filled with others doing the same. The room is definitely steak house decor, walls decorated with old photos of stars who had dined there. Laurant, our server, had great suggestions for us including a lovely California Cabernet Sauvignon. We shared a wonderful Caesar Salad with a dressing that had a presence of anchovy without over doing it. I had the 6oz Weygu steak presented sliced with a wonderful soy and honey sauce. Perfection! My husband’s strip steak served with a peppered crust, too, was just as he wanted. We shared side dishes - truffle creamed spinach and baked potato. And then dessert, a wonderful, very large piece of chocolate cake. A perfect end to a wonderful, special dinner. Can’t wait for a return performance.
Very Disappointing. My wife and I were looking for a good steak dinner. The quality of the steaks were excellent. Unfortunately, they were both smothered in peppercorns. Had I wanted steak au poivre I would have ordered that. It seems that if you want no pepper, you must request that. As first time diners at Strip House Midtown there was no way for us to know. When I mentioned to the waiter that the meat was heavily covered in pepper, he just said that I should have requested no pepper. How was I to know? And the baked potato was half raw.
There are other much better steak houses in New York. I won’t eat at Strip House Midtown again.
The staff was friendly. Atmosphere was romantic and lovely. Decor was true to it's name with an array of beautiful portraits of various pinups. Drinks were delicious and steak was mouth watering. Myself and date had the bone in ribeye and New York strip. Both steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. Would definitely come again.
I had high hopes for place. We don't mind paying for good food but at $200 for 2 and we shared a salad, steak, side & cake. My husband had one drink. You'd think it would be stellar. We sat in the bar area. The server disappeared. Luckily I had a bottled water in my purse because we couldn't get refills. The entire restaurant was extremely loud but that seemed to be the theme everywhere in New York. The steak was cooked to the right temp but had way too much pepper. Looking at it you'd think it had a great sear on it. Nope that was the course cracked pepper. The twice baked potatoes were just ok. AND what drew me in, the 24 layer chocolate cake. It's a huge piece of cake. They could easily give you half the size and charge half the price. It tasted ok but was far from the best chocolate cake I've ever had.
Unfortunate choice, if they do not want diners to make reservations for 4:30pm, they should begin reservations later. The service was the most egregious. They could not care less about their customers, from stale bread, to soggy salad to the wrong glass of wine brought to the table. No service what so ever. If it is change shift and you cannot deal with it, then have the restaurant unavailable.
