Strega Waterfront Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic experience. Aside from the matre'd or host everything was great. I specifically asked for seating away from the entrance door and something in the heart of the restaurant in order to gain a full experience. We were first sat directly next to entrance in a table away from anyone and everything, we were then moved to a giant booth (only two of us) directly in front of the entrance door. The whole time sitting there I clearly saw several two top tables in the heart of the restaurant, that were not seated the entire duration of my stay. I found that to be disappointing and couldn't understand why my simple request was not honored. The server Antonio made our evening worth it ultimately. Not sure if it was my skin color or because I was not a "regular" but the host and martre'd were not friendly and accommodating at all but the server staff was fantastic!
The food was good. But honestly the wait was annoying. I made a reservation for 4 through Open Table about a month ago because we had friends coming to Town. WE showed up on time actually a few minutes early and the table wasn't available. I was told the table is JUst clearing have a seat at the bar and we'll come get you. 20 minutes later I go back to check again and this time she tells me , "We just had Two big tables clear we're just cleaning the space" really?? New excuse?? Finally after another 15 minutes we get a table crammed in a corner. My first visit there was great this time with friends, after bragging, it was annoying because of having to and somewhat embarrassing.
I requested a romantic table if possible to celebrate an early Valentine’s Day with my wife. We are placed in an enclosed room with a party of 12 and a party of almost 15 people. We could not hear each other talk, and the service was extremely slow I requested a romantic table if possible to celebrate an early Valentine’s Day with my wife. We are placed in an enclosed room with a party of 12 and a party of almost 15 people. We could not hear each other talk, and the service was extremely slow do delete . My wife’s dinner was $85, and it came out dry. This is inexcusable. We most likely will not be back.
Went for a special occasion dinner with the family with a couple of vegetarians - they did an excellent job of making a nice meal for them. The staff was attentive and the food was cooked perfectly the ambiance was excellent. Great place for special occasions, group get together or for romantic dinner. We had a great time and look forward to our next visit.
Excellent service! Told them ahead of time the dinner was a celebration and they executed on that on every step. Our waitress, Melissa, was extremely attentive and professional. The other staff were all courteous and helpful as well. We had a great seat, wonderful food and an overall experience that was at the height of the occasion. Thank you! We will be back!
No complaints with the food or service. The price of dining there was astronomical. $68 for a Rib Eye, etc. Very noisy . Uncomfortable and annoying because of the closeness of the tables. They were so close the servers kept brushing the back of your chair as they walked by. It was like they used a shoe horn. I would NOT recommend anyone to go there even if the prices were half price.
Despite the rocky start with the service, Strega made up for it with excellent food. Once the restaurant filled up a bit, the servers hit their stride and we experienced a modern Italian meal that was memorable from start to finish. The portions are incredibly generous and the red sauce is outstanding. I had the meatball appetizer and the filet mignon bologenese. I am still thinking about it almost a month later....
My trip to Strega waterfront was perfect from start to finish. We arrived early and had a drink in the bar area. The bar area is awesome and the waitress was great. We then sat at our table (our reservation was ready and waiting) and got immediate attention. The food was great, the staff was great and I can’t wait To go back!
Overall very satisfied except we thought our meals were good--not excellent--especially for the price. The surf and turf I ordered was too heavy on red sauce and the lobster stuffing was not good. meat was good. Service was excellent and our after drinks at bar was excellent as was the service there too
Seated near the hostess station. Phone ringer was set at an ungodly loud volume. Service was very good. Food also very good, but pricey enough to make me question the value. I had requested through Open Table for a special dessert for my wife’s birthday but nothing was done. Fine enough experience but I won’t be racing to return.
The restaurant was not at all full but the sadistic hostess passed many comfortable-looking tables for 4 and showed us to an uncomfortable banquette right next to a raucous table of seriously drunk millennials. We learned to lip read in order to talk to each other. The food was good, reliable Italian. No surprises either positive or negative. The wine list was massive as if their wine steward had no idea what might be a good wine so just bought everything he could find that would command a price over $100. I would guess that among the hundreds of red wines fewer than 1 in 10 were offered at less than $100. Wine and liquor are the most profitable part of Strega’s business and looking at this rediculous wine list tells you why.
The place was almost empty (there were 3 tables of customers) and it took 30 minutes from the time we ordered our meals until it was served. One meal was completely wrong and had to wait another 10 minutes for his plate. The Caesar salad was vey bland. Honestly, this was one of the worst lunches I have had in a long time.
Party of 5, business dinner w clients. 7:15pm reservation. Staff was amazing, was able to pivot with little notice to bring us a champagne toast. We decided wanted to share dishes so we could try everything we liked and they adapted to serve us family style. Definitely a great pace that we’ll be returning to.
We have dined at Strega Waterfront many times. The food is quite good here, but the one issue I have is the absolute perfunctory service. This has been consistent throughout my experiences dining here. Waiters seem to want to rush you in and rush you out. Waiters also seem to be put off when my wife orders an appetizer as her main course. What can I say? She's a small eater and she has a favorite. I totally understand. It's all about the table turnover and the revenues but at least this could all be done with a few more smiles and pleasantries. If I'm going to spend good money for a dining experience, that's what I want. I want to relax and enjoy my time out and unfortunately Strega Waterfront finds this kind of customer difficult to please. Sorry to have to say this to an otherwise fine dining establishment.
We had a reservation for 7pm and arrived at 6:55. At 7:30 we had to ask the receptionist again about our table because we had not been seated yet. They then seated us at the tiniest table that had clearly just been thrown on the end of an actual dining area. We were clearly in people’s way and our waitress did not show up. After 10 minutes of sitting there and being in the way we just left.
