Strega Waterfront Ratings and Reviews
Went to Strega Waterfront on Sunday afternoon, November 20th, and Vinyl Groove was playing. They were fantastic! What beautiful voices. My friends and I even got up and danced they were so good. Very entertaining. Loved the waterfront, loved the authentic Italian food, loved the band, what a great time! I have since told all my friends about it and they are excited to try it.
We booked Strega on a Sunday night to enjoy the live music, this week Vinyl Groove, from 6pm. Each of us had tried this place once just after it opened and found it just average BUT tonight the food was really good. The service was friendly and good. The live music made it a really great night out in the city! We’re looking forward to going again.
Strega Waterfront was first class. The restaurant was very well decorated, great atmosphere, ambience. The food and the service were both spectacular. The entire staff paid great attention to detail and even customized my food order. I strongly recommend for either a special occasion or a group gathering
I have to thank Strega Waterfront for the excellent meal we had celebrating my husbands birthday. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the ambiance was everything we could ask for. I recommend them so highly for any occasion. I can't wait to go back. Kudos to Strega!
Very loud and somewhat a tad pretentious!
Some of the food was very good and some was barely hitting the mark. If you’re an Italian specialty establishment and cannot present a good plate of pasta with meat sauce, it’s like going to a diner and they can’t make an omelette. Would you go again?
My husband and I have been going to Strega Waterfront for 5 years now for special occasions because the ambiance, location and food are excellent. We took 4 of our friends out for a Veteran’s day dinner on Friday and l, unfortunately, this past visit was very disappointing. The food was sub-par and our server was rude and condescending. When you are spending top dollar you’d expect only the best and this is not what we got. I’m disappointed because this was always one of our favorite spots, but we will not be back. There are too many other top notch choices in the Seaport to waste time and money elsewhere.
Very disappointing!!! Strega Waterfront has NO water views. In fact the restaurant is very dark and had heavy curtains all along the ceiling to floor windows in the room we were seated.
We were there to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday, so we wanted it to be special. It was anything but special. Food was ok not worth the 1.5 hour drive from NH.
One other annoying fact is that they do not have a coat room. It was about 19 degrees the night we went so all the patrons were wearing heavy coats. No coat room so we had to hang our coats on the back of the chair.
Will not go back.
Seven people at our table and not one said there meal was even good. Homemade pasta recipe is a complete diaster...need a new recipe!
The setting was lovely. We had a great table and enjoyed some very nice wine, cocktails, and conversations.
I might go for a drink and to watch a sporting event, but would not order any food here!
Disappointed. Had lunch there before and really enjoyed it. Decided to invite friends to try it for dinner and we were all disappointed with the quality of the food and very high priced. The salmon with sweet and sour sauce was so average and the lamb chops were tiny portions and really fatty.
Definitely on the top of our list of wonderful restaurants!! Easy to get to and very easy parking directly under restaurant lobby and with elevator. Food was outstanding and waiters and others were very enjoyable and interesting. Strega definitely does not disappoint, quite the opposite! Can't wait to go back!
Server and bus person were very conscious.. we started at bar for drinks while waiting for the rest of our party and bar tender patiently assisted my wife and I with the wine selection... at dinner table we never had to look for our servers.. always available for our needs.. let’s not forget the food... unbelievable... fantastic!!!! (Veal chop parmigiana) ( lobster fra diavlo) perfectly made...
We were phenomenally disappointed with our experience at Strega Waterfront. We were in town for a conference and made this reservation because our local friends had loved the North End location.
We arrived 10-15 minutes before our 10pm reservation and were told our table would be ready shortly. The place was very crowded and we were asked very rudely by the manager to wait outside. We finally were seated at 10:30. We had two servers for our party of 14 who were lackluster. We did not have the opportunity to order a drink until 10:50.
By this point we were all so unimpressed that we skipped additional drinks and appetizers and ordered entrees. The food was objectively very high quality and the only highlight of the evening.
Based on last night I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. As the organizer of the dinner I was embarrassed and felt the need to apologize to the group for such a poor experience.
Some of the food was very good, pasta dishes and meatballs, the fish dishes were just ok. While we waited 45 minutes after our reservations to be seated the staff did a good job once we sat.
I would give it another chance but will stick to the Italian staples...
Guests are treated like Kings and Queens! Phil is the BEST Front of the House in the business - and is one of the reasons we visit Strega Waterfront so frequently. He always remembers returning guests and greets us with open arms like family. The cuisine is consistently exceptional - the Sea Bass is amazing! The chefs routinely accommodate custom requests and reimagined a dish especially for my wife. Our waiter, Antonio, was first-class: warm, charming, attentive and all about making our experience exceptional. If you haven’t dined at Strega Waterfront you are missing one of the best restaurants and best bars with the best vibe in the entire city of Boston!
Six of us went to Strega Waterfront for a business dinner on a Thursday evening. The whole night went very well. The food was excellent, the service was top notch and we were given a small private room with our own TV to watch the football game while we ate and chatted. I couldn't have asked for a better setup. I can't wait to go back.
The whole experience was great except that we sat next to a table of 8 children under the age of 10. The parents didn’t pay attention to the kids (who were all sitting together). At one point some of them were under the table. Their waiter actually did a better job controlling the kids than their parents. Once they left the noise level dropped drastically and the rest of the meal was much better.
