Strega Prime Ratings and Reviews
Great wait staff providing premium personalized attention that made the business meal very purposeful and enjoyable. We ordered a couple of dark chocolate desserts and they took the initiative to split it among the 5 of us on individual plates. Very thoughtful and proactive.
Beautiful restaurant. Service was fine but they could work on hosting and seating. I didn't find the hostess they had that night was friendly.
We went for our son 18th birthday dinner, a party of 12. And the did well accommodating us. Food was great too.
Would definitely go back
First time there to celebrate an occasion. Was in it worried when I saw some of the latest reviews on service. Well it was somewhat true. Waited 10 to 15 mins for a server to come over and ask about drinks. After that is was i would say just ok until the end and waited for another 15 min while she yacked it up with another woman server. Food was awesome and went there in stead of Flemings in town cause it was closer and bigger variety. I think the severs need to up there game for the price but can t say enough about the food. Also it was not busy for a Friday night
My wife and I tried Strega Prime for the first time for our 45th anniversary. Although it is, in my opinion, an expensive restaurant with an extensive high priced wine list, the food, wine, and the outstanding service of our waitress, Sonia, and the wait staff that accompanied her made the evening very enjoyable and memorable. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions and will be back in the future for such an occasion. A must try restaurant!
Our second visit, and again, well worth it. The two appetizers were excellent, as was my wife's salmon. Unfortunately, I found the poached lobster to be mediocre--the lobster itself was not sweet (which is always a risk with lobster) and the poaching sauce was quite bland. However, when I expressed my disappointment, I was very impressed by their response: two free desserts and two free limoncello after-dinner drinks. So although Strega is expensive, the atmosphere is elegant, the service superb, and we will certainly go back.
Loved Strega Prime. We were a group of four visiting for the first time. It was our first visit but we'll definitely return. In fact, we've already told several friends how good it was and they want to try it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and prepared to perfection. Three of us ordered the three course lunch that included an appetizer (soup or salad, etc.), main course (twin fillet, salmon, cutlet, etc.) and dessert (coffee crème Brule or raspberry tart). A fourth ordered the lobster roll which was very fresh. The cappuccino was among the best I've ever had. Highly recommend.
The appetizer, lobster gnocchi was full of lobster chunks -- almost more lobster than gnocchi. The rack of lamb was perfect, two pieces with three ribs each and cooked just as ordered. The side dish of mushrooms in risotto was also well prepared but needed a touch of salt (although we don't usually add salt to any of our dishes). The wine choices by the glass were quite varied and suited the meal well. The waitress was a tad too distracted, so the second glass of wine took a long time to order, even after receiving the wine list.
We had a delightful lunch at 2 p.m. The service was great and our waiter, Ram, was so concerned about our visit. The food was over the top and the desert and salad was superb. We had a wonderful experience. Oh, by the way, it was our 52nd Wedding Anniversary, and the drinks were superb. We do mostly lunch now that we do not like to drive at night.
The atmosphere was quiet and warm. The service was top notch. Highly recommended the veal dumplings, although slightly salty. The salads, iceberg and garden were large and delicious, perhaps should have split one. Hands down, the best piece of halibut I have ever had! Wonderful evening.
We had the 12 oz sirloin steaks and they were prepared perfectly! We also ordered a half bottle of wine and that turned out not to be a good value as it was just a little more than two glasses of wine. Next time we should just each order a glass rather than the half bottle.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We had a terrible experience. Our food was under-seasoned, cold and menu items say one thing and are actually something different. Gnocchi with a broken cheese sauce is what this place calls Mac & cheese. For $150 for 2 apps, 1 side dish and 2 steaks it was a joke. We've had a better meal at the outback for a fraction of the cost. Now let me talk about our waiter. Rude is the understatement of the year. After being less than impressed with our food we did not want to try anything on the dessert menu so we asked for the check. Five minutes later we get the dessert menu, immediately turn them over. He comes back five minutes after and we say no dessert yet again. Another five minutes goes by and he finally brings us the check. He then takes five minutes to retrieve my card. What he did for the next five minutes with my card I have no idea. Over twenty minutes to leave insane, it was like we were being held captive. We would not return to Strega or any of its partner restaurants if you paid us! At least my dog enjoyed the steak!!
Promptly seated at the time of our reservation. We had multiple servers all who which we have communication issues with. Our main server was inexperienced and was not aware of items they had (i.e., certain type of liquor, low fat milk, substituting sides, etc). A restaurant of this caliber should have excellent service and we didn't not feel we got the level of service we have experienced at other similar restaurants in the area. This is our fourth time here and the service has steadily declined over the last 18 months. Will not be coming back.
I would not go back to this overpriced, less than stellar establishment. We were there to celebrate an 81st birthday. I had put in a request about having a cake~ never heard...(had hoped that maybe one would be brought for the table ...but no, not even an acknowledgement of the special occasion. At the end of the meal a small plastic dessert was brought it seemed as an after thought to only the birthday recipient.
We celebrate my mother's birthday each year in a similar fashion at other restaurants...this was by far the most disappointing.
The service was less than par and the steak chewy .
Food was scrumptious (I had the big bone rib-eye steak and it was prepared perfectly). Waiter was excellent...very attentive, available, and friendly...but not intrusive. The only complaint, and having been there before, I believe this was an anomaly, there were 7 young children dining (and crying/yelling) while we were there and it caused the restaurant to be quite noisy. Last time we were there it had all the previously mentioned excellent qualities and the ambiance was quiet and romantic so I think this was just bad luck for us this time.
We had our anniversary dinner here and the service was superb. Our meals were very good - steaks cooked perfectly. The sides were fantastic - creamed spinach and risotto. The staff knew it was our anniversary (from our children) so we were presented with a special complimentary dessert. Outstanding!
My girlfriend and I had a Groupon to Strega Prime, where we'd eaten before. It's primarily a steakhouse with great service and it's easy to access, just off of Route 128. We were promptly seated at our reservation time.
Pros: Superb service, perfectly prepared steaks, nice atmosphere, friendly waitstaff, comfortable bar/lounge area, valet parking if needed.
Cons: Their sides were mostly starches; not much of a vegetable selection, aside from the obligatory creamed spinach (ugh!). We asked for some carrots and fingerling potatoes that we saw included with other entrees on the menu. We got them but the portions were minuscule and our waiter seemed a little perplexed with our request. Not a big deal.
Overall, it's a nice restaurant--we'd go back but would order sides from their usual listing.
Awesome dinner. We were celebrating our 31st Anniversary. I get the petite Filet Mignon & hubby gets long bone in Delmonico steak. Both were fabulous. They brought out a special dessert for us with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate around edge of plate!
Wine menu is very good.
We had the octopus appetizer, it was good, very different, pricey.
steak aupoivre: the steak is decent but far from great.
the aupoivre sauce was overly sweet, the steak was drowning in it.
I wouldnt get that again.
the citrus salmon was good.
sweet potato & squash puree was excellent.
the desert: dark chocolate cake was very good, but...didn't look like dark chocolate. didn't taste like dark chocolate either.
