Had to wait for water on fill up needed had to ask for bread for meatballs ordered and filets where questionable on medium pink in middle
Had a great time with my friends! Food was delicious and our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
A friend and I meet here, in between where we both live. The meal was lovely. We chose from the Boston Restaurant Week menu- $20.00 for an appetizer and main course. We both ordered the tenderloin medium rare, which came out more as medium, but was very tender and flavorful. Fresh asparagus and mashed potatoes were served, both quite good. My appetizer was a perfectly sized and tasty Caesar salad, and my friend had the Wagyu carpaccio which she raved about. Last year the dessert was included, but not this year, however our lovely attentive (but not overly attentive) server brought a tiramisu to celebrate my birthday. Very generous and welcoming on her part, and of course the restaurant's. A very nice meal where we sat and talked for over 2 hours with no one rushing us out.
Anniversary dinner. Service was amazing! Nice, calming setting. Food was delicious!
We sat in a private room because wehad 10 guests. The room was very nice. The waiter was ok..he served us fine but not much of a peronsality and he only checke on us once in a while. The wine stweard was very helpful. The waiter offered us popovers, but it felt like it was reluctantly..for these prices rolls should be a given. The lobster bisque was pretty good, more lobster would be good only got one piece. The steak was delicious and prefectly done to order for everyone. The sides are so pricey for the amount you get..really this stuff does not cost that much..it just feels like a money maker. The desserts were terrific.
At Strega Prime in Woburn, MA the food is incredible. The attention to details is notable. The service is absolutely unparalleled. We requested a virgin piña colada and, after checking with the bar, the waiter apologetically said they did not have the ingredients. It wasn't a problem for us and we moved on. About 15 minutes later, our waiter came back with a virgin piña colada in hand; someone had gone out and bought the ingredients. THAT is above-and-beyond service! Additionally, our waiter (Lucciano, sorry if I spelled it wrong) was an absolute pleasure, very personable and terrific at making us feel welcome. Each was cooked to delicious perfection. Ditto for the all the food. This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. I highly recommend Strega Prime and I look forward to another opportunity to dine there.
Overall a nice experience. An issue with some of the service, but as always, a great meal
Kevin did a great job and Katie the receptionist is so cheerful and welcoming! Thank You! Ernie Coutermarsh
Awesome dinner. Went for husband’s 65th birthday. He had the bone in delmonico & I had the filet mignon. Both steaks were cooked exactly as we wanted. Delicious!!
Service was the best highly suggest the meatball app simply amazing our waiter. Could not have done anything better fine dining worth the visit
We shared the Delmonico steak and it might be the best steak I have ever tasted! As always, the ambiance, service and wine list is five star. The bar is also wonderful because the bartenders serve expertly crafted cocktails in a charming way.
Food and service was wonderful, expensive but food was excellent
The Milanese pork chop was pounded so much it became
shoe leather! Stay away from this dish.
Especially like their special lunch menu, making a "fancy" dining experience affordable.
Really sad to see that our favorite place that holds so many memories for us is on such a downward spiral.... we had our 1st date there, got engaged there, spent our anniversary there for the last 7 years and so many holidays.... but last night will probably be our last visit for a while 😢
I am a vegetarian with a steak-loving boyfriend, with that said - I do appreciate that Strega has options for both of us. I enjoyed the italian touches and the italian ambiance in the restaurant. The restaurant, however, was definitely showing it's age. We were seated by a wall that was knicked up, and wall paper appeared to be peeling or paint chipping in areas. Our table was also very wobbly, we noticed the couple next to us was experiencing the same uncomfortable issue - each time someone put an arm on the table you feared your drinks were going to tip - we kept exchanging funny looks with the table next to us each time either of us accidentally forgot and came down on the table too hard. It was a packed house though (Valentine's weekend) and we were advised that the restaurant was completely booked so we didn't bother to ask to move tables. The food was fine, but I have to say compared with other boston area steakhouses I wouldn't rank it high. We started with the arancini which we both noticed was a bit dry. I ordered the Mushroom parparadelle, which enticed me due to the emphasis on truffle in the description (I am a lover of all things truffle), while the dish was good it was pretty bland - no truffle flavor! I half wonder if they forgot that ingredient. It was a creamy pasta dish with some mushrooms cooked in, it was good and satisfying but lacked any 'wow'. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon which he loved and sides of whipped potatoes and macaroni and cheese. The potatoes were excellent, probably my favorite item we ordered. The mac and cheese we both agreed we could have passed on as it was a bit bland also. We decided to skip on dessert as the food and ambiance weren't impressing us too much so far and service had been a bit slow, also at this price point we decided we didnt want to risk the money on another potentially so-so menu item. I will say that the cocktails and wine were excellent, we would definitely come back to the bar for drinks.
25 minute wait to be seated.
45 minute wait for food.
Cold draft from front door blowing directly on our table.
Sauce used for pasta was terrible.
Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day, this was the perfect spot. Cool quite ambiance, great service and ever better food! Will absolutely be back!
Usually pretty satisfied with Strega. Celebrating Valentine's Day Dinner tonight, it didn't live up to our expectations. Why? 1. The greeters appeared like they could care Lee's to greet. 2. The small seafood tower was a TREMENDOUS rip-off. $63 for 2 normal size oysters, 3 TINY oysters, 2 shrimp and one thin lobster tail. Would have been better off ordering 6 Oysters and the Shrimp cocktail for a total of $48. Still overpriced though.
3. Our waitress was extremely nice. I think she had too many tables though. After approx 50 minutes after we ordered we had to ask her to check to see if our dinners we're ready yet. They came out as she was checking.
The dinner and dessert were delicious. We had the Delmonico, the Rack of Lamb and a Filet Mignon. Filet was small for the price, but it was prepared well. For dessert we had the Strega Signature Chocolate Cake. It was delicious. Finally, I had 2 beers and the two others had sparkling water. With tip, the total was $335. I don't mind paying that for a great meal, great service and value. Tonight, Strega missed the mark on two of those.
We were sat right away. Pop overs were cold. They brought me the wrong steak . Everyone else was almost done eating before mine arrived. I had hoped they would have not charged us for it, but they did.
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it. Our waiter was super friendly and we loved chatting with him. Everything was great. We will definitely be back.
Had the worst experience ever. Would never step in that place again after the nightmare we had . Booked for dinner for valentines day and only to have my wife come back home hungry and in tears with no food. My wife wanted the rack of lamb and requested if it could be made medium well with no pink only for it to show up with all pink inside. She had confirmed a few times with the waiter before ordering. When they took back the dish, the waiter didn't even came to check . 20 minutes passes by and she insisted I eat, so my food wouldn't get cold. Finally asked for the manager who again didn't want show up for 20 min after several requests. Guess what!! He ( Jeff) said he was busy helping valet park the cars and apologised with no help. We asked for the check and no one brought it. When we again asked from the waiter ( who was attending every other table than ours ) he dropped the bill on the table very rudely and said he has taken off the lamb from the bill . Something my wife never touched and they took it away ??? Thank you for being so kind !!!! We walked to the front desk where the waiter was standing before hand making comments about my wife pointing towards her . When I confronted he was quick to escape. A complete horror show of disrespect to my wife on a special day.
Excellent as usual
The waiter Marco was excellent. The food was great, and the rose for Valentine’s Day was a big hit.
This was our 3rd visit and once again it fulfilled our expectations quite well. The arancin appetizer was fabulous, although I thought my crab cakes were a bit bland. My wife loved her sea scallops, and I thought the bolognese was excellent. They have a small but tasty selection of desserts which are always to die for. The only glitch was that we had booked this reservation using Open Table rewards, and the rewards card would not work, so we had to cover that cost ourselves. Open Table did eventually restore our bonus points that we had used for that reward card, but their customer representative Jeremy was very unpleasant, and in effect accused me of lying when I tried to describe what had gone wrong. But the Strega manager was very solicitous and did all she could to help us.
Food and Service was Exceptional. Our server, Gill was everything you would want.
My wife and I went her for her birthday (as did many other people apparently) and we had a great experience. The steaks we got were excellent, as well as the Lobster Bisque for an appetizer. Great vibe, great waitress and the drinks /wine were also excellent.
Great place for a celebration, or just for a very good meal/get-together.
The appetizers were on the smaller size, yet fairly expensive. Was looking forward to the antipasto, but it lacked variety, mostly salami and Prosciutto. I got the 45 day dry aged, bone in sirloin, which had a nice aged flavor, but under seasoned overall.
They had run out of Sirloin steaks???? Really it’s a steak house! It was 5 pm Sunday. Spinach was too garlicky but ok. Steaks we got were good, waiter was excellent, lighting was too dim. Every table were using their phones to read menu.
It was ok but nothing special.
Our decision to dine out last Saturday night was very last-minute and so we were thrilled to be able to book a table for 3 at 6:30 on only a half-hour's notice.
Food was outstanding: my wife had Frutti di Mare dish, my sister in-law enjoyed a lovely piece of grilled Swordfish, and my petite Filet was PERFECTLY prepared.
Our wines by the glass paired nicely with our entrees and we concluded the evening by sharing one LARGE slice of Tiramisu among the three of us.
Great meal indeed with great service all around.
Consistently good. Never had a bad meal here. Hopefully nothing changes in the future
The price fixe lunch special is a great deal. The beef tenderloins are so tender you could cut them with a fork. All is excellent with beautiful ambiance.
Food is always great, service is exceptional! My go to steak house.
Food was below average at best and service was careless and long. The Strega located in the North End is the only one worth visiting.
Our waitress Lucy was very nice and accommodating. The food as usual was superb. My family tends to go Strega Prime for our special occasions.
Our party of four were celebrating my son and his fiancé’s new home. Our server, Giovani, made our experience excellent. He was friendly, attentive but not intrusive. We ordered the seafood tower to start which never disappoints. Next we ordered filets and Osso bucco which were all cooked perfectly and delicious. Giovani brought out a complimentary dessert to share with congratulations written on the plate...a nice touch.
Although this restaurant is pricey, for a special occasion it can’t be beat. We will definitely return.
We’ve been to Strip by Strega a few times and this lived up to it completely! This was a better location for our whole party and despite being “on the highway” or “in an office park” once you’re inside, the ambiance makes you forget all of it. Makes us want to go and try all their other locations!!
Good food great service.
