Best restaurant...I cannot say enough wonderful things!!! The staff was amazing, the food to die for, the dessert indescribable!!!
One of my favorites in the North End. Always come here during Boston Marathon weekend with friends to celebrate. Great food, wine and friends. Service is outstanding.
We made a reservation through Open Table months in advance and still had to wait an hour. The greeters were rude. The staff was ok. The food was great.
Great meal and service as usual. It’s our go to stop every time we are in Boston. Highly recommend
Amazing dinner and superb service. Small and a bit noisy due to fact no place for people waiting to really stand away from tables. In the good weather one can stand outdoors to wait.
Marathon prep!! Delicious and fast and loved our server!
Waiters did a great job with a large party! Great food & wine recommendations!
Excellent meal as always. Ask for the meatballs & ricotta, off the menu for the appetizer. Delicious!
An excellent restaurant in the North End, especially for those looking for a nice mix of seafood and classic Italian!
Awesome time. Food was great. Server was great and loved they had mob movies running along the wall. Very unique!
Had an 8pm reservation and didn’t get seated until almost 9. Many other angry guests waiting too. Thankfully great food and waitstaff made up for the long wait. We left happy. Management should reconsider the number of reservations they take over Marathon weekend though.
Tables are pushed together too close, making the ability to have a personal, romantic experience at a zero. The noise level as terrible due to the amount of people they squeeze in at once. Very disappointing since it was my first but last experience there.
This is a very small establishment, however, the staff is nothing short of exceptional to make sure your visit is amazing. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and pricing was reasonable. I would absolutely go back!
As always Johnny took great care of us. Food is always awesome, pricy but awesome. Seabass is off the hook fresh and can't be beat any where!
Food was good, although the waitstaff was not conducive to allowing us to relax a little . This was a business meeting at 4:30 pm Friday night and the cadence and comfort of the meal was rushed by over-attentive service, check-ins and frequent lurking. It was obvious that they wanted to turn our table and the restaurant was quite empty. Hate to say it but over-attentive.
It was perfect. The staff made us feel very very special
They were extremely accommodating even though we had some issues changing the numbers of our reservation. A man who I assume to be the owner came by and we had a wonderful conversation with him! The food was absolutely excellent from the chicken to the pasta to even the bread and olive oil they brought to the table before our meals were ready. Everything was splendid and we will be sure to return!!
Amazing experience with the best authentic Italian I have had in a long time!
Reservation was made for 9pm. Our group of 9 individuals was not seated until just after 10pm. The restaurant manager gave us some free appetizers but unfortunately that does not address the problem of taking a reservation weeks in advance and not honoring it because tables were overbooked.
Dining room is loud with tight seating. We enjoyed the energy. Large TVs built into wall all playing godfather/ mob movies. The Service was great! Our Food came out quickly but we didn’t feel rushed. The Food was very good and presentation was very nice. We all enjoyed our choices very much. The Menu had a great variety of Italian specialties. We skipped dessert and walked down the street to Mikes Pastry for cannolis. Valet was available and prompt. We will definitely be returning to Strega north End!!
Authentic North End restaurant that is small, packed with people, but with fabulous food, wine and great service.
We had a group of 8 here for my wife's birthday and we all were thoroughly impressed by the food and our service was super attentive. Only downsides were that it is very small (as is everything in the North End) and we thought the TVs in the dining area were a little out of place. We had a great time though.
We sat at the bar and it was great. Personal service from the bartender and noting we had a game to attend, she was considerate of our time. Food was excellent, wine superb and exceptional service. We would definitely recommend and are planning our next visit.
We went to Strega North End before a concert at the Garden. Bruno was our server and he directed us to the correct wine based on our preferences. In addition, the staff was attentive and thoughtful. The starter of Burrata, tomatoes and prosciutto was amazing and the Strega salad was regfreshing. We were only at a two person table and ordered so much food that it would not fit on the table, so they moved us to a larger table nearby. For dinner, I had the Bucatini and my husband had the Bolognese- all pasta is made locally. The highlight of the dinner, was the Nutella chocolate mousse, we split. It was the perfect end to a delicious meal. Thank you Strega!
The appetizers, meals, and service were wonderful. The meatball app is a must! The only thing to critique would be the short rib with risotto which was dry. Irregardless we will be back. Great experience.
Fantastic authentic Italian food. Super fresh ingredients, homemade mozzarella and pasta. Cooked perfectly, presented very nicely, and great service. Not a cheap place - but worth every cent we paid. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Our family gathered for Easter Sunday dinner. The meal was wonderful and our waiter and wait staff were top notch. The only short fall I found was the TV's playing the God Father and Good Fella's. I love both of those movies but did not find them appropriate for the 4 children we had with us. Our compliments to the chef... Our meals were outstanding!
Thank you.
Waited almost an hour for our reserved table. Food was good but not very memorable.
Amazing experience
We were rushed the whole time we were there. The wait staff was very nice and respectful but it felt as though they were rushing us out of the table even though we were not yet done with our wine and throughout the meal. The food courses were not spaced out in between, as soon as we were done with the app they brought out the main course, etc. They also sat us very closely together with other tables in one section of the restaurant when the opposite side was completely empty.
Awesome atmosphere, food, drinks, service!
Great food & service. Felt rushed. Bar is a ‘cordial bar’ only- was not aware when I made reservation.
Very authentic and classic Italian menu, the preparation and sauce is fantastic on all menu items but especially the cacciatora and marsala. The gnocchi with a simple tomato sauce is also fantastic.
Wonderful birthday lunch during Dine Out Boston week! Service was a bit slow around the end considering there were about 4 tables being served at the time but enjoyable nonetheless.
On vacation in Boston, friend recommended Strega. We had a great evening, food was incredible, big portions (almost too big), service was attentive, friendly and fun, only downside to ambiance were the multiple television screens on one wall all rotating scenes from various movies (Godfather, Rocky, Good Fella's)...though a fun concept, it was distracting to our conversation for those of us facing the screens. Would definitely dine here again, but not face screens.
Me and my friend went to this restaurant today in order to try the Italian food, unfortunately, it was terrible experience. There are a couples sat next to us and they were staring at us, perhaps they were surprise to see two Asians in a Italian restaurant? Moreover, there are three old guys in other table and my friend somehow heard they said something like this: ‘they wouldn’t be here if there is no dine out Boston menus.’ In addition, the salad was full of lemonade, way too sour and the staff took away my salad without asking me. Hmm the pasta and Tiramisu were good. Overall, it wasn’t good compare to the American fancy restaurant.
We went for DIne Out Boston to try Strega for the first time. Wow. Real deal Italian place. So many other places cut back on their Dine Out offerings, but not Strega. Huge quantities, fresh pasta, someone comes by to grate Parmesan at your table. I had the fried calamari app which was very lightly battered. Among the best I've had. Then the chicken marsala which was yummy with fresh pasta and mushrooms. DW had the meatball app. Not meatballS, one huge meatball, the size of a baseball with a bunch of ricotta on the side. She got the gnocchi as her entree. Both were great, flavorful. She ended up taking a bunch of both items home for lunch and proclaimed the gnocchi to be her new favorite. We both had Chocolate & Ricotta Cannoli for desert. Yum, yum, yum. The space itself is small and cozy, like a lot of places in the north end. So glad we tried it. We will definitely be back.
Food was delicious , price wasn’t outrageous, our waiter Gionni was very attentive and great with recommendations on food choices. Reservations definitely helpful, wait was very minor .
The server was friendly and able to answer questions, food was fantastic and plentiful, the North End is always a great place in general and Strega is a great spot here.
Small little cozy spot with authentic tasty options. Not for children as it is very tight seating. You will definitely bump the person behind or next to you. Not impressed with wait staff, not overly friendly and didnt offer any options when ordering.
