Street and Co.
Our chefs focus on serving the freshest seafood and the best ingredients available from local purveyors, fishermen and organic farmers. They prepare a simple yet creative menu that highlights the ingredients.
Our personalized wine list truly complements the cuisine and we offer a classic full bar. We serve our full menu at the bar itself and feature a raw bar with a variety of local oysters and seasonal shellfish. Street and Co.’s comfortable lounge is great place to get together for drinks and appetizers or to enjoy while waiting for a table.
Al fresco dining is available from Memorial Day through September.
This was a delightful treat while in Portland. Several locals had recommended Street and Co. as their favorite restaurant. We were not disappointed by the service, ambience or food. It’s hard not to be impressed by someone that serves you fresh baked bread with slabs of butter and finishing salt on the side. We enjoyed the muscles, fresh salads and their special which was a fisherman stew. Everything was very good.
Lobster diavolo for two - so good! Come hungry or you will be taking half of it home. Wonderful service and chill atmosphere.
A wonderful dinner, with delicious seafood and great wine list! The only disappointment was the service. Very few check in’s, and an overall lack of caring. We would still go back and enjoy the delicious food!
Your restaurant came highly recommended and I will pay it forward!
We have been dining at Street and Co. ever since it opened and it remains our favorite in Portland. It is our go to for special occasions.
Wonderful atmosphere when you walk in, very friendly and professional waitress, attentive without being overbearing. Oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had and we’ve eaten a lot! Mussel dish was as good as I’d eaten there before and the clam linguine was a very generous portion, could perhaps have had a little more sauce. Wine by the glass choices limited but acceptable options. Would highly recommend and will be back!
We had a lovely waitress who tried hard. Three people started with a bowl of lentil and mushroom soup that was way too salty. In fact none of us liked it and we had to send it back. After that we decided to have one of the salads which cost $13.00 dollars and was so small that you hardly had enough to eat considering the price. Another person had the scallops for $36.00 and two small red bliss potato’s that had been steamed or boiled with a small amount of vegetables. We all said we would not rush back! Mentioning it to someone else the next day their response was a similar experience.
Dissappointed in the lobster/linguine dish. Lobster was over cooked.
Great ambiance, delicious food and extremely friendly and welcoming staff.
Overall a fantastic experience.
We got the shrimp butter garlic pasta and added lobster to it. AMAZING !!!!!! Highly recommend it, you really don’t need an appetizer with that dish it makes very filling .
Reunion. The restaurant was extremely loud. The tables so close together that the waiter kept bumping my back as he moved between the two tables. The food was overpriced for what we got. I spent $28.95 on shrimp with linguine in garlic and butter. I had three shrimp in my skillet dish. That is close to $10 per shrimp. Really?
I feel it was nothing special and could make this at home.
With all the competition in town it is a surprise Street and Co feel they can get away with this.
We will not be returning to Street and Co. nor do we recommend it to our family and friends.
The best food in the City of Portland.
I booked online a few weeks ago and could only get an 830 pm seating. I emailed the restaurant several days before our reservation to find out if I could get an earlier booking and did not hear anything. I did receive a voice mail from the restaurant on the day of my reservation to move the time but didn’t get the VM in time as we were travelling.
So we show-up at 830 and I was surprised to see the place is practically empty- hostess seemed less than pleased to seat us at a table we preferred at the back versus the one she wanted to seat us at in the middle of the room between two tables filled with guests.
It felt like we were end of evening guests with kitchen closing- plates smashing around for clean-up with food prepared in a less than stellar way- not a lot of taste or care added. I felt rushed and Easter dinner did not have the expectations as planned.
Again, perhaps because we were the last guests of the night- I did feel like we were a bother.
Our server and the water person were lovely.
We loved our meals.
After waiting so long to dine here, we were left wondering what all the fuss was about. Everything was good but nothing was special. We tried to engage the server in learning more about the dishes and how they were prepared. Her responses seemed rote often saying it’s a signature dish which is fine but what does that mean. There are so many excellent restaurants in Portland, I don’t think we would return here.
Portland's best for three decades. Always outstanding. I have never had a bad meal at Street and Co. An absolute must for any visitor to Portland and a true mainstay for locals. By far our favorite restaurant in a city filled with fantastic restaurants.
Underwhelmed and overpriced. We were in the first seating at 530 and it took over an hour and a half for our entrees. Small little salads for $13.95 and over cooked fish entree's for almost $40. Our bill was over $130 with tip, two apps and two entree's, no drinks. Food was way too salty, even after we requested low salt. Server even made a comment about them loving their salt there. Innovative menu by appearances, but major fail on follow through. They offered a free dessert because of the delay that we took to go, we ate that next day, tiny piece of pecan pie that would have cost us $9. There are better meals in Portland, don't get sucked in by the hype, not worth it.
Visiting my son in Portland taking him to his list of restaurants he would rather I paid for. Very rustic old Maine feeling. Cozy. Everyone knowledgeable and eager to please. Quality is amazing and adventurous ingredients.
Wonderful dinner experience. Consistently one of our favorite restaurants.
This restaurant remains consistently excellent. However, it is not inexpensive but definitely worth the costs.
Nice atmosphere and beautiful place. But the food was disappointing (for a European person), and the presentation of the dishes could be improved.
Erika is amazing, food fantastic and the atmosphere is beautiful
An excellent meal in Portland. Great service, wonderful food. We really enjoyed ourselves.
It was very nice
All aspects of Street &Company were excellent. I do think that it is moving in the “pricey” direction, however. And you would think that they could afford a complimentary glass of wine to someone celebrating his 72nd birthday.
Let me start this off by saying we go to Street and co. 2-4 times per year - we love this restaurant, have never ever had a bad server/meal/experience. This time was very out of the ordinary - Server did not get to table for 15mins after seated -when she did arrive, was very friendly and apologetic, offered a free app for our troubles. Ordered clams, they were excellent - placed our dinner orders. Waited over an hour for our dinner - decided to leave, got our check and was charged full price on dinner (we never received) and the "free" app. Bill was fixed - we left. Very disappointing experience but will return due to love of restaurant and food - hopeful that it will return to its norm of greatness.
Food was great, lobster fra diavalo was as good as I had read about. Even bigger in real life. Besides that the service was ok.
Without question one of the best meals ever. We’ve visited Portland many times and decided to try Street our server had taken it upon herself to open a door at the back of the kitchen. And capping a perfect meal was a bowl of steaming hot napkins with lemon for our hands... very nice touch that was much appreciated. We will definitely return, and often!
Excellent food! Excellent experience!
Great food. Nice and informative server. Relaxing atmosphere.
Happening place even in March; food was very good; we
We found ourselves in Portland for the first time in years and went back to a place that we really liked when we used to sail the Maine coast. It was still great!
My husband had oysters at the bar and then we had clams and shrimp over linguine for dinner. Everything was great.
Echoing other reviews, food was wonderful and ambience is very good. Too bad there are no sugar free options for dessert - diabetics need not reserve for a special occasion.
We live this restaurant
We preferred the Fri Diablo for two. We have been coming here and having this for 30years!! It never stops pleasing
Fabulous meal and restaurant! Would definitely go back there when we're in Portland again.
Erica made our experience all the more amazing! Great table and beautiful food!
Food was great. They were very accommodating in honoring our request for a particular table. thanks! They were very attentive as we were waiting for a table too.
We sat at the bar two nights in a row because the bartenders were outstanding. We spent our 10 years of love enjoying the mussels, whole fish, and blackened tuna. We love Portland and we always come here when we visit. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and we always have an amazing time.
Just wondering why all the wait staff that evening were blonds! Just struck me.
Food was good in spite of the fact that grilled squid was definitely not grilled and very rubbery. Main course and dessert were very good.
