I went to Street and Co. a day after I proposed to my fiance. The food was delicious.
We had octopus for an appetizer. The outside of the octopus was crispy and textured. For dinner I had Sole and my fiance had a shrimp pasta dish. I loved the crust to Sole. It was flakey, but wasn't heavy. Shrimp was delicious. The pasta seemed homemade (at least didn't seem common in a supermarket).
The ambiance was a little bit of a miss. Street and Co. had an exposed kitchen which was just loud, and didn't add to the experience. I don't think there's many tables that can even take advantage of the benefits of the exposed Kitchen. The bathroom was near where workers were doing dishes. I do not blame the workers for playing music, but again, there wasn't a degree of separation. Lastly, a group of 6 sat at a table meant for 4 right next to us. I don't really know the story there, but being near my table, I felt my eyes being diverted by watching the gymnastics of the middle person in the booth leaving, the patrons making room for plates, etc.
There were different rooms to Street and Co. and I would recommend eating in a different room. Overall I would still recommend Street and Co., but can definitely improve on the ambiance.
This was not our first visit. Street & COmpany is on our list of restaurants in Portland where we can count on a delicious meal. The fillet of sole was our favorite of the two dishes we ordered. It was superb. The Lemon sponge cake and homemade vanilla ice cream were superb dessert as. They were working on their wine by the glass selection as they just reopened two weeks ago after being closed due to Covid 19 for the late Fall and Winter.
Great food and service!
Street and company is our favorite restaurant in Portland. We never miss an opportunity to eat there.
As always ,Street & Co delivers. Food was top notch- scallops were so tender they practically melted in your mouth. My husband had the clams with linguine- best he’s ever had. CLams were cooked perfectly. If we lived in Portland we’d be here weekly!
My husband and I live in CT. We have been eating at Street & co. For over 25 years. It is Our favorite restaurant in Portland and we’ve eaten in almost every one. Even though they changed the mussels and clams marinara recipe, we still love this place and will definitely return
As always, Street & Co was excellent. The service is exceptional. Food delicious. Normally a bit noisy, it was delightful this visit due to separation of tables for Covid. Too bad it can’t stay that way forever!
Everything was great. Waiter did not pay attention to much
Great overall! Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly
Our table, buy bar, was the BEST table in the whole restaurant. Better than being in the "burbs".
The staff and food here are among the very best in Portland. And have been for over 30 years.
I will go back as I feel this has great potential. I had to soup which was delicious but it was cold. My salad was dressed in too much of the vinaigrette but was delicious.
Main was scallops and were fantastic. My fellow diners enjoyed their meal however a salad was missed and the timing of food arriving was weird. Not coursed properly.
Give it a go, i think I just got an off night but happy to try again.
Always great consistent delicious fresh food from the sea
A go to place for quality
Food very good. Staff seems new. Pacing off... drinks slow, service out of sync, not attentive to condiments, bread, glassware removal. Senior folk helped and management was very joce
The food was excellent; however the menu is limited. We enjoyed the sea scallops, but originally planned to have the swordfish.
We've been coming to Street & Co for at least 10 years now and they have yet to disappoint! From the live and energetic atmosphere to the freshness and quality of the menu to the service and everything in between, Street & Co knows how to do it all well! If you're looking for an upscale yet casual and intimate yet vibrant seafood dining experience in Portland, look no further as I can pretty much assure you won't be disappointed and will be back for more!
Awesome experience. Grilled Branzino was delicious.
I am never one to post but last nights experience definitely took a toll on me. The first time we came was after our engagement with friends, every thing went and was great! the next time we came i booked on open table a "birthday occasion," for my fiancé and it was terrible. I booked days in advanced and decided to push our dinner a little later. the hostess was very sweet and accommodating. She SUGGESTED if we wanted to sit at the bar/lounge for 730pm? And i said, YES of course! (mind you we haven't sat in that area before - thought it could be a nice change of scenery). Well i was wrong because when we arrived she said we have a couple just finishing up at the lounge area and i will call your name as soon as they leave. So, we walked outside and waited. i looked through the window saw the couple paid and left. 15mins goes by she does not call us. then i said forget it and walked in and asked about the OPEN table then i noticed they started to ADD CHAIRS and another table next to it! then the hostess goes oh there's two parties ahead of you - i was not happy! i said when i first spoke to you , you said the table was finishing up and now your saying there's two parties? whats the point of a reservation *in my head. so i said if you have any tables available we'll just take anything at this point now that it's 750pm. then she made us wait AGAIN! and we sat exactly at the same spot as the first time we came.. then she goes i heard it's a BDAY today but not “happy birthday”.. and i'm like it's supposed to be a surprise *in my head. oh vey! food was good, felt rushed. then we order dessert, no candle at all, no happy birthday from anyone. i asked for a candle and paid for the desserts since it was on the BILL, and paid for a not so nice experience.
Dinner at Street & Co. is a MUST during any visit to Portland! Never disappoints!
Ambiance is superb. Food was okay. For a $300 dinner it should be something one would recommend to a friend. It used to be top a top choice for us over the years but now with the food game in Portland be so great it is okay. Food lacked flavor. The mussels used to be outstanding - seemed like they were missing something as there wasn't a lot of taste. The wine we chose was pedestrian at best. Great for atmosphere; food can be found anywhere in Portland.
Food was excellent but service was poor. Two sets of appetizers arrived with no wine (we had ordered a bottle when we ordered the appetizers) and our waiter was NOTpaying attention, I had to get up and ask another waiter to bring our bottle of wine while we waited and looked at our appetizers. Our waiter was bullshitting with a customer at the end of the bar this whole time, and not paying any attention to us. It was unprofessional, rude, and annoying enough that I may not return....why would I spend $220 again for this kind of experience?
It's worth making reservations for a real dining experience ......!
Excellent service. Wine was excellent. Grilled octopus and salads were excellent. Lobster Diavalo was outstanding. My wife had sole which was excellent. Desserts very good. Will definitely go back. Recommend highly.
Love fresh seafood? EAT HERE! The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. We had all of our needs met in a timely fashion. The mussels were plump and delicious and the swordfish was moist and not overcooked. The lobster over fettucine was both rich and addicting. Will def be coming back in the summer!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Street and Co. The food was delicious - our seafood was fresh and prepared to order. Our waiter was very attentive and did a nice job spacing out each course to perfection. The whole staff did a great job following covid protocols and making us feel safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Fantastic evening. Great food and surprisingly big portions for a fancier restaurant!
It’s always a wonderful experience! Lobster Diavolo was amazing- service was excellent!
Foro was absolutely delish and great service! Amazing cocktails.. totally recommend. Visited from Miami and found this spot.. it was definitely a great choice!
Excellent as always. Can tell they have taken great care to be COVID safe.
Really good experience! The food was great overall, but didn't like the grilled octopus. Loved the clam and linguine and swordfish though.
Was great to be back at Street and Co. As always the food and service was wonderful. The nice change was that the restaurant has had a decor update which has made it a bit brighter and more inviting once inside. There has also been a noticeable positive change to the restaurant's ventilation system.
All in all a great night at one of my favorite restaurants.
I hosted a dinner meeting at Street and Co. and more than one person said "this is the best thing I've ever eaten" at some point in the meal!
The service was outstanding and the food was to die for. 10/10
Amazing experience - every time!!
Dined at street and company Sunday 3/28 and the food was outstanding and service excellent. This Is our “ go to” place in Portland for great seafood.
Second time back. Love it here
Delicious, specialized menu and a rustic atmosphere to bring you back to the older days of Portland. The reservations always book out!
Great dinner. Lovely Atmosphere. Followed CDC guidelines. Felt safe while we enjoyed our meal.
Absolutely delightful to be back in the world and able to enjoy an outstanding dinner at Street & Company again! As always, they are amazing. Thank you!
