   This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland, ME. The bread is incredible, the ambiance is great, and the food is always delicious. I usually find myself ordering the Lobster Diavolo, but decided to change it up last night and it did not disappoint. It seems everything on the menu is fantastic!

   We keep coming back for the mussels. I’m we are 2 hours away and will be back again. Staff is great food is fabulous. Love the bread and the mussels and the broth is to die for!!!

   We ate at Fore Street (a sister restaurant the night before, and the food and service was excellent. At Street & Co. the food was fine but uninspired, and our waiter was not great. Given that the two restaurants are at the same basic price point, Street & Co was disappointing.

    Too hectic,table was small with little room. Service was not attentive enough, seems the waiter was working two rooms and was harried. Food was too greasy, too much butter or oil. I have been to Fore Street, Scales and Street and Company and I would rate Street 3rd.

    My meal was undercooked, which isn't what I expect at Street and Co. The potatoes were undone and the fish was raw. I think the kitchen was busy and we hit it on the wrong night.

    Consistently excellent, as it has been in recent years. The menu is arranged in a way that would allow one to experience highest quality at moderate cost (e.g mussels for a very generous appetizer and either a salad or pasta instead of an entree or special). Wine offerings by the glass could be larger.

    Booked reservation through open table and noted it was an anniversary dinner. We were seated immediately next to the coffee station and conversation was interrupted several times by coffee machine and clanging dish noise.

    Ate dinner at Street and Company last night and the food was delicious. Scallops in the pan with fingerling potatoes and green beans excellent and the lemon cherry tart. Very enjoyable. Service attentive.

    This is the second time I’ve been here, and the service was perfect and so lovely both times. We went for my birthday and there was a card from the restaurant at our table when we sat down which was so thoughtful! All the food was delicious, would definitely recommend

    We have been going to Street & Co for many years. It is our 'favorite' and it's the one we chose for special occasions. This visit was not like years past. The dining area was cramped, noisy, busy with the water guy and person carrying racks of just washed glasses, hoisted over customer's heads - barely. 2 other tables had chairs in pathways and waiters kept bumping into them. The food was good but with noticeable changes. I am very critical because of my expectations. The butter is different. Lesser quality in flavor; the brown butter crab came with the bottom pastry shell very mushy and the spinach was so limp - lack of a better description and very little of it. Wouldn't it be better to have a slightly cooked spinach than a limp few pieces?The crab was okay mixed with the brown butter. The brown butter lacked that deep browned flavor. The linguine with clams was good. It is my favorite but Italy has the best. The table size for 2 was just so tiny. I know the restaurant has been around for a long time, it has a reputation for being 'great' and it was obvious many out of towners were there. We befriended a table of 3 from Massachusetts and they were quite pleased other than the cramped table and chairs they had. I'm not sure Street & Co will be our first choice for awhile but certainly not deleted. There is a long list of restaurants and it's growing. That watering station is just such a distraction. You might rethink of relocating it. It's hard to recommend the restaurant as anything other than your option of 'lively'. It was just too overly loud, cramped and certainly not kid friendly.

    My husband wooed me at Street & Company 25 years ago. We came back for our 21st Anniversary. It didn’t disappoint back then and exceeded expectations this time. We highly recommend the lobster Diavalo. Everything was perfect. Food. Service. Ambiance. All of it perfect. Our server was exceptional in every way.

    Overall, a good experience. Food and serves were excellent. Unfortunately, we were seated in a poor location, tucked in back adjacent to server order areas. We find there is a correlation between using Open Table and the less appealing seating areas.

    Didn’t realize what a noisy , echoing place this was so little chance to chat with my partner. A manger noticed the noise level rising and moved us to the lounge for desert and coffee. Much appreciated.

    Came to Portland for my husband's bday weekend and thought dinner at Street and Co would be a perfect treat for him. Cocktails were wonderful. Oysters were delish, octopus appetizer was incredible. Hubby had the steelhead and loved it. I had yellowfin tuna and asked for it more on the rare side and it was perfect. We shared the pecan pie for dessert and it was lovely. Our table was next to the open kitchen and while the restaurant was packed and the kitchen was hustling, it was so loud we couldn’t hold a conversation. Just a really wonderful night, wish I lived in town to come back but definitely will have to come back next visit.

    There was a fan blowing cool air that I found discomforting. Yet not enough to ask to be reseated. The noise level did get more energetic as the evening progressed. Other than those things it was a wonderful meal.

    The waitress knew it was a birthday dinner and didn’t bring the little cake with candle. She did to all the tables around but skipped ours. The birthday card was nice though. Food and service was real good overall.

    This is a small bistro that would be easy to overlook but I would recommend that you take the time to find this gem in the Old Port. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. Cocktails were inventive and well-balanced. Our dinners were excellent, particularly the tuna tartare on special for that evening. I would definitely go back whenever I am in Portland.
