I live in the area and have been here many times. I ordered the chicken fried shrimp appetizer as my dinner, it tasted great but I noticed they cut the portion from 5 shrimp to 4 shrimp and kept the price the same. I also ordered the mac n cheese side and found it to be bland. My boyfriend liked his food a lot (roast pork grilled cheese), but they could amp up the presentation a little. Service great as always.

If you have a hankering for cajun/creole food, you will be happy to head to Storyville...a bit of N'awlins on Long Island. And if that is not familiar cuisine, it is worth trying another version of regional comfort food. We arrived early evening, so the place was quiet, our waitstaff attentive and thoughtful, kitchen accommodating to our dietary preferences, drinks stiff! Three friends spent a lovely few hours laughing together, and enjoying the food and the casual ambiance.

The food as always is very good, but the service was horrible. The drinks took 20 minutes to come out. But what was irritating was after eating the waitress never came back for roughly 30 minutes we sat there, no water, no drinks, nothing. And I can’t say it was busy because there was only one other party in the place. So there was no excuse for the delay.

Great food, substantial portions, excellent friendly service and a nice but casual atmosphere -- just what you'd want in a cajun/creole experience! A good variety of menu options (if you're not a vegan or vegetarian), including authentic entrees, a variety of small plates/appetizers and a solid selection of po'boys. I had shrimp "gumbolaya", which is their signature Fire and Rice Jambalaya topped with a hefty scoop of gumbo. Flavorful and spicy, but not overpowering, and although there weren't a whole lot of shrimp they were enormous. My wife greatly enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles, which came with both syrup and a delectable country gravy. The Fried Green Tomatoes we had as an appetizer (5 to a plate, so we shared) were a little disappointing as they seemed to lack the usual tanginess of unripe tomatoes. However they came with a very tasty remoulade, which made up for some of the slack. Our server was friendly and attentive. We came on a very quiet Sunday night so my assessment of the noise factor may or may not be useful, but I can say that their choice of background music was totally on point! Altogether a very nice dining experience, with lots more menu options to explore. We will definitely be back!

My wife brought me here for my birthday. We enjoyed the appetizer that we ordered. My dinner was delicious. My wife's dinner had olives in it. Olives were not listed in the description and with the amount in it could not be eaten around. The manager came over, took the original dinner off the bill and had her order a new dinner. She loved the replacement meal. The manager made sure that we were happy with the new order and that our night was good.

Third time at Storyville but the first for brunch. 4 adults and a child on our party. Very nice variety of food. Had something for everyone in our party, including someone who doesn't eat fish, someone who doesn't like spicy food, and a 6 year old.

Made to order omelet, fried chicken and gumbo were some of my faves. Can't wait to go back.

We picked a great night and went early with our daughter and her husband from out of town. The beautiful patio table gave us a quiet place to catch up and dine. They both and I love the canon flavor to most things and my husband was happy with his usual hamburger!

We are longtime regulars of Finley's/Storyville and are delighted by the increased enthusiasm and new additions brought by the new chef. Be sure to order the fried oysters, catfish and andouille rice abd deconstructed key lime pie and teaditional strawberry shortcake. One note: We'd love to see the old beer menu back again. I especially miss Young's Oatmeal Stout as well as the other international brews.

It's a nice change of pace for Huntington to get Cajun food in the mix. Thankfully the food was good and represented the Big Easy quite well. Portions are very big so come hungry.

Went previously for brunch previously, and it was quite good. Decided to try for dinner despite very mixed online reviews. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. My wife and I had chosen our meal based on the online menu. We get there and were immediately told that they would not honor the price fix menu because it was a holiday(no mention of that online) . I was also told my second choice (the duck) was no longer available and that the online menu was obsolete. Not wanting to disappoint my wife,I stayed, and regretted it. I ordered the duck salad for $18 and my wife had the shrimp and Grits for $23, The salad was small with about 8 small slices of duck and for $23 the Shrimp and grits was a flat out ripoff, , a Small helping of Grits and 4 shrimp!!!!!!! a Side of Chicken wings and 1 drink made the bill $80 (+tip)for what amounted to a mediocre Lunch meal . The manager did offer free deserts as a way of compensation for not allowing the prix fix menu. The baugettes were very small and not very good, (3 bite sized pieces) the cookie was very good, although we specifically asked the deserts to be to go, at first we received the cookie without the ice cream or whipped cream, when we asked them to correct they put the ice cream on the hot cookie, rather then in a small side container so everything was a mess by the time we got home. On the plus side the waitress and servers were very nice and polite but for $90(with tip) , I went home hungry and a bit angry. Its to bad, But we will not return . Mediocre food, Not the menu as solicited, and very poor value for the money

Service was abysmal. Took about an hour just to get our appetizers. No one came over to apologize or anything. When we had to send back my son's soggy potato chips, the man who then brought out the fries we ordered was pretty rude to us. Then it took another half hour to get our entrées. At some point someone, maybe a manager, said they had introduced a new menu and the computers weren't working right. That's really not my concern, certainly they had paper to use to give orders to the kitchen. No one offered to buy us drinks or dessert as has happened to us at other restaurants with service issues. The table next to us just got up and left without eating or drinking. We were here for someone's birthday and if it hadn't been, we would've gotten up and left just like that table. As it was, we didn't even order a dessert because we'd been there over two hours and had no idea how long it would take to even get a dessert. We hadn't been here in three years due to service issues before and decided to give it another try. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Won't be back.

We went to Storyville to listen to musicians we knew that were playing there. Appetizers came out in a timely manner and were ok, but not noteworthy. It went down hill from there. It took forever for our dinner to come out and when it did, only 2 of the 5 dishes came out and three of us were waiting another 10 minutes for our food. The mussels were overdone and stringy. The Jambalaya was tasteless. Burger ordered medium came out rare. The salad I ordered was almost comical to look at if we hadn't been so disgusted at this point. It was described as a Blackened Shrimp Salad served in a Fried green tomato basket. Well, the shrimp were ok, but the tomato was one 3" round tomato with a whole, completely covered in a batter. As soon as you cut into it, the batter released and I was left with an oily blob of tomato over wilted slimy lettuce. The only plus of the whole evening was the music and the lovely waitress that was clearly embarrassed by the kitchen's downfall. Don't bother wasting your money on this place.

Happy hour at the bar before dinner was great - 1/2 price drinks until 8.
Seating out side very nice - although cushions felt a little wet when we sat in them for our meal. Our server was very very nice but the wait staff was not very attentive. Price Fix was a good deal. Personally ordered the Caesar salad with blackened chicken - I don't think there was any chicken on it...too dark to see outside. I was looking forward to the Banana's Fosters and was left disappointed. We had large gaps of time when no one came around - maybe they were just letting us talk :)

Love creole food and Storyville did not disappoint. The char broiled oysters with a splash of hot sauce are amazing! My hubby loved the shrimp & grits. My muffuletta was quite good. We were unable to stay for dessert and look forward to a return visit with friends. Downside- the bread basket. Should only be the little morsels of corn bread. Wish they served Coke products versus Pepsi.

Food was okay not really very authentic New Orleans cuisine. The jambalaya and the shrimp and grits were bland and missing any creole flair. They were out of the duck which was the dish someone in our party ordered and was disappointed with the steak they ordered instead. We did enjoy the fried pickles and fried langostinos. And although the beignets were not as traditional they were delicious.

Or group of 6 arrived at 5pm on a Sunday.
We were disappointed to find the shaded bar area in the back was not open, so settled into an outdoor table in front (street/parking lot view) which worked fine only because it wasn't a sunny day.
Cocktails: well-made Cajun martini had just the right amount of heat. Body Mary looks gorgeous and was enjoyed by my tablemate who ordered it.
Apps: shared fried pickles and fried crawfish. Both were terrific with drinks!
Entrees: shrimp and grits is delicious and reminded me of how it tasted is NOLA. Chicken and waffles was enjoyed by tablemates, as was blackened catfish.
Desserts: I ordered chocolate chip cookie pie. It was stale. A big disappointment.

I thought the meal and alcoholic beverage were decent. It was 85 with no air conditioning. they had small wall units that did nothing. The biscuits and muffins they put on the table in the beginning were VERY STALE. Also - why is the Finley's sign still up?

The building is lovely. The staff were friendly but service was slow. I would go back - in the winter.

I had dinner at Storyville several times over a year and it's always consistently delicious. The service is great and it's always very comfortable. Storyville is my favorite restaurant on
Long Island. It's a 40 minute drive away and worth every minute. If I lived nearby I would have
dinner there at least twice a month.

This is a nice addition to the varied cuisine that already graces the bustling downtown area.
Comfortable indoor seating and two outdoor areas to choose from, street side or quiet back yard. Food is consistent for each dish, with most being very good to excellent. Many have broad, vibrant flavors. The ribs are awesome, even if you don't usually like ribs. Staff has been friendly, the atmosphere is comfortably casual, and the music is different in a New Orleans kind of way. Earlier seating has worked well.

I was extremely disappointed in Storyville. I was initially excited when I searched and found a Cajun restaurant not too far from where I was staying. It was a 15 minute ride in the opposite direction of where I was going but got good reviews so I went for it. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. The waitress was very nice, but service was extremely slow. The decor was nice. The music playing was awesome! The menu looked amazing but the food left lots to be desired. The corn muffins were decent. For an appetizer I ordered the ribs. They were tender, the sauce was watery and a little gritty but had ok flavor. My friend had the oysters.... they were in some sort of cheese sauce that had an odd flavor.. 3 out of the 6 had a strong fishy flavor.... for my entree I chose the jambalaya gumbo combo. The jambalaya basically had NO flavor, and the gumbo seriously lacked flavor as well. My friend had grilled medallions over cheese grits... the meat was more like sliced pot roast, the gravy bland and the grits flavorless and watery. We ordered the tot casserole from the don't miss menu, our waitress said it was her fav.. a sloppy mess of tots piled with cheese and a sauce underneath.. not good. Bengiets for desert were just ok. Espresso was cold. We chose a table in the back by the windows and were swatting at flies constantly buzzing by us the whole time. The bill was slightly over 100.00 WITHOUT alcohol. Having been to Nola several times, being familiar with the cuisine as well as the origin of " Storyville" o feel this place completely missed the mark. I would not recommend nor return.

HORRIBLE. Cannot believe how bad it was. Service? The waitress disappeared. Although appetizers did not take too long to come out of the kitchen, our dinner took an hour. Food: from the bizarre cheese-like topping on the oysters that was hard and looked as bad as it tasted, to the terribly dry waffles and chicken. My guests were glad to have the syrup to pour all over it and they actually needed MORE but, that was impossible because again, our waitress disappeared. The sad state of the duck. Over cooked, and covered in a gravy sauce that was used to compensate for the ducks taste and condition. The prices for these items leads you to thInk good stuff is coming, nope, you are just getting ripped off. The absolute downfall was having to endure the "owner" drilling us on why we thought the food and service was poor. The night was sad enough without having to explain his restaurants incompetence to him. The irony is that this "owner" was disturbingly insistant that it was a 44 minute wait time on the entree, not an hour. Beyond embarrassed for this man and very disappointed that we spent a birthday here. Can't unring this bell.

We really enjoyed the ambiance and the food at Storyville. The catfish was nicely fried, crispy outside and soft inside. The collard greens were melt-in-your-mouth fresh and delicious. The gumbolaya - jambalaya with a ladle of gumbo on top - took me back to New Orleans. We finished the meal with some fair beignets and an espresso. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The wait, especially for the drinks, was long and felt like it was too long for the amount of people at the restaurant r. Overall, delicious and we will be back when we are in the area.

The service was really friendly. The food was very good. The only thing I didn't care for was the wine. I am normally buzzed after the second sip. After drinking the entire glass, I didn't feel anything...almost like I was drinking grape juice. Everyone had trouble finding the entrance to the restaurant. There is another name on the place so we were confused too. But, as we sat outside eating , we directed the other confused people to the right door. It was a great experience. I had the GUMBalaya (combination of jambalaya and gumbo) and it was enough for dinner, lunch and dinner the next night! The cornbread muffins they served us were delicious. Would definitely go back.
