   Whenever we are up in the Blowing Rock area, we make it a point to get to Storie's for lunch or dinner. The food is fresh and the dishes are prepared with attention to every detail.

   Had the Junior Johnson moonshine pasta. It was delicious. We went back a second night and ate again. Highly recommend it!

   Just very good food at reasonable prices. Suggest not going close to closing my time. We had an 8:30 reservation, they have a 9 PM closing, the place was not that busy, and they were cleaning up around us and the few others still in the restaurant just a bit after 9 contributing to the low ambience rating.

   My wife and I have been visiting Storie Street Grille for more than 10 years while in the mountains on vacation. We booked a special dinner here this week and were quickly reminded why we continue to come back. The service was outstanding, our server was prompt and readily available without being overbearing. The baked brie is an amazing appetizer; we order it overtime we visit. My wife had a pasta dish with blue cheese and I had the mountain meatloaf with Cheerwine BBQ sauce. Trust me, this is NOT what most people think of when they hear the word "meatloaf." Both dishes were absolutely wonderful and we were very pleased with the portion size. Lots of new restaurants have opened in Blowing Rock in the past few years. While we intend to try some of the newcomers, Storie Street will always be on our "must visit" list.

   Tonight's dinner did not match the usual quality I get here. Salmon was a smaller piece than I received at lunch just a week ago and overcooked. Waitress impatient, but not discourteous. She would not linger if anyone undecided, but restaurant was busy. My house salad was delicious, as usual but guest's wedge was disappointing. Her salmon overcooked as well. But I'll go back.

   If you want to be right in the middle of everything going on in Blowing Rock, you'll be hard-pressed to find a nicer place than Storie Street Grille. The food was quite good, and the staff equally so. The dining room was a bit noisy, in a friendly way, which you might expect during a full house. The outdoor dining area suited our interests better; the weather was nice and it was a quieter dining experience. We enjoyed it; you will too.

   Have been there many times over the years and it has always been a lovely experience. This evening, while fine, was less than what we've become accustomed to. Dishes were just allright rather than the usual bright, fresh flavors they tend to do. My trout especially was a disappointment - pretty bland - though the green beans were perfectly seasoned and crisp. Service was only so-so - again, not the usual for Storie Street Grille - and felt rushed. There were three of us that evening as my spouse and I had a friend with us and, it being her first time there, I don't think she was impressed. I would still recommend the place and would go back because of the good history with them, but I sure hope that night was a fluke and not that they are going down in quality.

   We enjoyed the tiny bar for a drink one night and the restaurant for dinner another. It was good but not exceptional compared to some of the other places we dined in Blowing Rock. We had dinner on the patio rather than inside. But, sadly it faces a parking lot and has zero ambiance - and the chairs need cushions - hard wrought iron hurts!! We ordered the salmon special and it was badly overcooked - but to servers credit he offered to make a new piece or a free dessert. But, just didn't want to wait for it. I would return again to try lunch menu.
