Stony Hill Inn - NJ
The service was slow the place wasnt crowded.
The actual drink order was taken 20 to 30min after we were seated.
The appetizer order was brought out incorrect and some of the entrees were over cooked dry and lousy.
The music was great, the ambiance wonderful.
If I had not ordered food it would have been a better ecperience.
25th wedding anniversary
We sat in the bar area, as per our request and we enjoyed a delicious dinner while listening to live music.
We had a very nice lunch with friends and the afternoon was fine. The food and service were very good and we continue to return to Stony Hill Inn because of the consistent level of quality.
It was very loud , the food took very long to come to the table from start to finish. The main course arrived sort of dry. The ambience was disappointing to see people dressed in T-shirts and shorts.... unfortunately we would not be coming back.
Lovely ambiance . Enjoy pipe room which is near dancing but not as loud. Good food. Always enjoyable.
Great place for music and food!
Overall great experience. Food was excellent. Band was GREAT but volume could have been a tad lower. A few odd things happened like I asked for wine list, it was given to someone else. There was a situation with the ladies bathroom door and our guest was made to feel like it was her fault. Just a few more little things that if didn't happen would have made the expressive excellent. Will definately return.
Michael, the waiter, was probably the best and most gracious host we've had...and I've been to many places throughout the world in my lifetime, worthy praise and appreciation.
Food was decent. Service was very friendly. We were forced to sit in the bar area due to a wedding and a private event. On a Saturday night they have live entertainment which is not "quiet background music". It was quite difficult to have a dinner conversation sitting in the middle of Studio 54
Food was very good and our waiter (Gus) was excellent. Our table was located in the room adjacent to the bar--not as nice ambiance as the separate dining dining room.
I’ve been here often and usually take Friends here for a special occasion - this time was for Secretary’s Day! The Girls loved it and couldn’t believe the quantity of food for a lunch! But the quality and taste outbeats the size ! Another great meal and good service !!
I was very disappointed. We were seated for 15 minutes and still no waiter acknowledged us at our table to take a drink order. He walked by, tending to the tables on either side of us but did not even make eye contact. I got the attention of another waiter who then got him for us.
I ordered the sizzling steak medium rare. The outside was burned so badly it was stuck on the skillet. The middle was fine. I don’t eat French fries or any potato but was told I wasn’t able to substitute anything else, only potato for potato
Had salad for appetizer and that was good. Got side order of sautéed mushrooms and that was good
For the price, I will never come back or recommend this restaurant.
Dined there on Saturday. We usually eat at the bar because the service that Paul provides is always outstanding. He never disappoints. Once again, food, service and ambiance was outstanding. Highly recommend the Stony Hill for a nice night out.
great night out as usual!
I haven't been to the Stony Hill Inn in a couple of years and, I'm happy to report that it hasn't changed. This is not the restaurant for you if you're looking for new, trendy adventures. But if you love old-fashioned delicious food and great service, the Stony Hill Inn will meet your expectations. I had wonderful Papardelle Bolognese, my husband had perfect Chicken Parmigiana and our friend ordered a steak, which was cooked to order. I'm going back soon!
Great food, great service, great experience!!!
My wife and I are long time customers of the Stony Hill and we like to eat at the bar. However, it was one of those nights where the experienced bartender ( Paul) was out ill. Unfortunately, the substitute (Gus) was not up to the task. We know Gus and he is an excellent waiter, but not a bartender as he readily admitted all night. The bar was busy with everyone eating at the bar. Needless to say, the service suffered and everyone at the bar complained about the poor service. I actually blame the restaurant management for not providing adequate back-up and assistant to handle the Saturday night crowd.
In any event, the food was good and we always love the atmosphere and ambiance. We look forward to going back.
This is the first time I’ve ever been here for Sunday for brunch and it was absolutely wonderful with 2 of my close friends to celebrate my birthday. I live near Philadelphia now but it’s always a privilege to come here.
Restaurant staff was so accommodating and welcoming. The Sunday Brunch had a vast variety buffet and tasty.
The wife and I eat there all of the time and it never disappoints. Always a good meal and great service. A combination of tasty corned beef and cabbage; and Paul's amazing service at the bar made St.Patrick's Eve a wonderful night.
Really nice service really nice for kids the food was good 3 adults 5 kids they did amazing really nice staff !!
On of my favorite places. All the people from the owners on down are always very accommodating. Great spot. Best bar anywhere.
Delicious dinner in the Garden Room while dancing to the music of the Betty Liste quartet featuring the vocalist, Stephen Fuller. A romantic evening for a date night
Wonderful service and food was delicious! We appreciated the special birthday card and candle in dessert cake.
My girlfriend and I have dined at Stony Hill Inn many times over the years and we usually, come away feeling satisfied, overall. On this occasion, we began with the Buffalo Mozzarella, served with Prosciutto di Parma, Beefsteak Tomatoes, Roasted Peppers, Drizzled with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. For our entrees, we enjoyed the glazed Pork Chop served with sweet potato fries and the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes. Everything was very tasty and we felt satisfied. The only bad mark I would give is the over-aggressive waiter and bus boy that tried to clear our plates when we weren't done. They did this 3 times. I would understand if the room was packed, but it was not.
The entertainment was wonderful but, it would be nice if the dance floor was bigger. The bar scene is always great and this night was no exception. Very knowledgeable and professional.
I will continue to highly, recommend the Stony Hill Inn for any mealtime and their banquet facilities.
The restaurant is lovely. My husband and I arrived earlier than the rest of our guests and ordered a cocktail at the bar. If we were alone, we would have had our dinner served at the bar. It is a very deep counter top which allows for your dinner plate if you decided to eat at the bar. Once our friends arrived we moved to our table on the dance floor. Everyone enjoyed their respective entrees and the music was fantastic!! Can't wait to go back. Great evening.
I must say for an establishment that promotes rustic ambiance... i was extremely disappointed. We were seated in a room that had a disco ball going the entire time and 70's disco music. Not someting i ever expected. The food was very good but overpriced for the crappy experience. Will be a long time before i go back.
Food and service outstanding
Needs to be updated inside
Only 2 things you should know about. 1) I had reserved (through open table) your hi top seating in an upper dining room. But we were escorted to a table in the bar section and had to request upstairs dining of the hostess. We were then accommodated immediately. 2) Two gentleman were seated at the left corner table near us. One was already so slopped up and loud that we could hardly hear ourselves talking. We left after our dinner at about 9:30pm. They were still there louder and drunker than ever. The sober gentleman was obviously embarrassed but could not quiet the loudmouth. Maybe next time, escort THEM to the barroom table and keep the dining rooms for those who prefer a more elegant dining experience. Food and service were otherwise outstanding.
Only issue is they need to upgrade their beer/ale list. No craft beers.
Delicious food and great service!
Stoney is always consistent. Good food and service. People are great.
Staff insisted the room could accommodate 14.. even 16??!! Way too tight and uncomfortable for a 2 1/2 hour lunch. Don’t do it!
Our server actually brought out 1 or 2 (max) meals at a time... no one else in the restaurant could assist for a timely delivery of the meals?
Stoney has been around for years. Absolutely love the bar and the live music. Good food and service.
I was very glad that I had reviewed the bill as it automatically included a 20% gratuity. I normally tip at that level when I receive good service, but I usually tip in cash. If I had not examined the bill I really would not have seen it.
We have been going to Stoney for years. The people are great. The food and service is always good. Beautiful decor.
beautiful restaurant. great location. my tuna and avocado appetizer was delicious, had chicken entree, best thing on my plate was the mashed potatoes.
Service was slow only required drinks . It was a bruch, food was out long time was dry or soggy , not one bit impressed at all very disappointing , brought buiness clients, and the waiter included the tip, it appears to me that the food was from a left over event
Service was slow and the quality of the food only fair, would not recommend
