As it's closing soon, its appearance is a bit tattered. Notably understaffed but understandable. Still a nice bar but no piano player. Food was very good though.
It was a very limited menu, unlike what was shown online. 2 of the requested items were unavailable and one of our group had a meal that wasn't cooked to his liking, even the second time.
We didn't kn ow they were closing in 3 weeks. We had heard it would be in August. We did enjoy the restaurant for many years,
Horrible- no one cares anymore now that it is closing- horrible experience
I looked at the menu online but when we arrived the printed menu provided (two pieces of paper stapled together, previously used) was completely different. It looked like a menu from a pizza place, a few basic Italian dishes, even the "specials" were simple items like clams oreganata, etc. We left and went to a very nice local restaurant that fortunately had an opening for us. We found out later that The Stony Hill Inn is closing in August, so I guess they replaced the menu with what's basically Italian diner food that can be made by short order cooks.
Excellent food and atmosphere!
Old world charm, delicious food, a stronghold for
Great Dining. Sorry it will close soon.
We were not warned in advance when we made our reservation that two large parties would occupy most of the restaurant. We were seated in a very noisy bar area (only seating available). Difficult to converse. And because of the location of our table there was a constant flow of diners walking past us. Food ranged from very good to just OK. Not a good dining experience.
Fantastic place. Food was outstanding and the service was out of this world. What a shame this place is closing. We absolutely love this establishment.
It is very, very sad that this wonderful restaurant, where I have had so many happy times, will be closing soon forever.
An absolutely beautiful setting inside and out with very good food.I hope it doesn't close.
It was an awful experience. Service was terrible. Food was awful. Never again
So disappointed. Service was terrible. We over heard they had 200 people with 5 waiters. It took over one hour to get drinks and 3 hours to actually get out main courses and the food was horrible.
I guess they don’t care anymore about good food or service as they are closing at the end of June.
We were disappointed to find a number of items were unavailable for lunch. Since we have been coming here for more than 5 years, we were underwhelmed when we asked about several items and told that they were not being made the day we were there. Perhaps it was just an off day, but it was painfully noticeable as regular customers.
Covid-19 precautions taken seriously. Quality has not diminished any since pandemic.
I had a delicious dinner at Stony Hill, I would definitely recommend this place.
Good was excellent, nice ambiance and service was also perfect!
Gus was a wonderful server and the food was fantastic as always. The bar seemed a little crowded and loud, but we have been quarantined for a while and were used to more limited numbers at the bar. We will be back again before August 1!
The ambiance was romantic! They made up my favorite dish that was no longer on the menu since covid thanks to Gus our server! He was very attentive!
We had a wonderful evening. The food, service, and ambience were great!
Great services and very fresh food!
Will be back.
We love Stoney. We will miss it for sure. Great people.
First time dining here and we’re talking about when we hope to get back. Our server Albert was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. Gorgeous restaurant and everyone on staff was great. Highly recommend!
We had a great time celebrating my aunts 87th birthday. Our server Gus was wonderful; professional , efficient and charming. We wished the menu could go back to pre-COVID days but our food was great. Our favorite restaurant for special occasions in this area.
The restaurant provided a private room for our party of 5. The waiter was extremely attentive and the food was great. Highly recommend!!!’
Great service, food and atmosphere.
Our Short Rib & Osso Buco dishes were wonderful. Gus, our waiter was as good as the food!
Great Service and Atmosphere Highly recommend anyone to experience this Restaurant
We will definitely miss the Stoney Hill Inn. The people have always been great. The Venue is second to none. We wish them the best.
The chicken cordon blue special was by far the best I’ve ever tasted. Probably the best chicken I’ve ever had. This place is the epitome of elegance. Tables very comfortably socially distanced, I never felt unease. Was married here 26 years ago, and it’s still maintained the charm and quality that brought us here in the first place. Best around.
Best looking bar around. All the people are special. We will definitely be back.
Love the atmosphere great bartender!! Always remembers my name and my drink. Paul is the best
Food is excellent. Staff attentive. Priced appropriately.
Service was excellent as always and food was well prepared and delicious.
Everything was awesome, it was also very cozy with all safeguards in place!
Stony Hill Inn never disappoints!
Lovely decorations for the holiday. So glad they made outdoor dining warm and toasty, though I'd suggest some warmer color light bulbs in the outdoor tent. Additionally, I would love some more accessibility – the outdoor chairs were not very comfortable for folks with a larger frame and there were steps leading down to the outdoor area, which may be difficult for wheelchair users or those with a cane. Mask wearing seemed to be enforced, which I appreciated for safety. The food was good – I wasn't completely wow'd, but it was a solid meal that you'd expect at a wedding venue.
A hidden gem on the Bergen county dining circuit. Food was great and the service was first rate from Gustavo.
Everything is superb. Place is beautiful. Service awesome and food exquisite.
We have been here on numerous occasions and never had any problems with the food or the service. Our most recent visit was horrible. The staff took our order, brought out only 2 of the 5 things ordered. We waited for over 40 minutes and then the staff came back and said they had to check on the order. When she came back stating that the order was finally ready, we were up from the table getting ready to leave.
Still one of the most beautiful restaurants in NJ. Great facilities for outdoor dining, even on colder nights.
