Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill - Roswell Ratings and Reviews
It has been awhile since my wife and I tried Stoney River Steakhouse. Boy were we in for a surprise. Our meal (petite filet) was cooked perfectly, the sides were big enough to share. The wine was great, we had a special night. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Upon arrival at Stony River we were told that our reservation had been received but since no tables were available we would have to wait. After 15 minutes we were seated and we waited for another 5 minutes a "helper" arrived to say that our waitress would be over in just a minute. The waitress finally showed up but I get the feeling that she was not used to multitasking. The entire evening she seemed to be off balance. There was no checking in to see how the food was and she seemed to be preoccupied with other patrons. The meal was just ok but the Lobster bisque was probably the worst I have had at any establishment. After 2 spoonfuls I just pushed my cup aside but the waitress did not even ask why I did not finish. I guess that little details matter and I now remember why we have not been there for the past 2 years. I can spend my hard earned money at any establishment and be ignored.
Overall a very nice meal. Good food and we actually turned the lack of service into interesting conversation. Our table was not set up when they sat us down, Missing napkins and silver ware. We only had one(1) knife when the three (3) pieces of bread were served for the four (4) of us. We did ask but NEVER received any more knifes. One of the group is not eating bread right now so I guess he did not mind not getting to taste your delicious rolls. We actually asked for more bread, for the rest of us, and NEVER received any.
They did bring out a very nice piece of cake for my wife's birthday (thank you) but had taken all the silverware up and brought only two (2) new spoons.
We wanted to enjoy a "post-Christmas" special dinner and I wanted a good steak.
Our high expectations were blown away by both the quality of service (THANK YOU Schyler!) as well as the food. The Steak Rolls were a tremendous starter and all of our meals left us smiling with delight! We will be back!!
Wonderful experience. I took my company for an end of the year xmas dinner. I had the legendary steak and it was one of the best steaks that I have ever had, hands down. The service was amazing and all of our meals came out perfectly. The only two complaints I can come up with is. . . 1) it was a little too dark for my taste. You could barely see to the other side of the table. LOL. 2) The selection of beer was very limited. They didn't have Blue Moon, which is one of my favorites and everyone else at my table as well. Two red hares in, we didn't seem to care any longer. . .LOL.
We drive an hour each way to go to this restaurant because it is so consistently wonderful. At this last visit we had a minor issue with our order and our waiter as well as the manager went above and beyond in sincerely acknowledging the issue and making it right. Stuff happens ...how an organization responds is what makes the difference and why we make the drive.
We have had dinner here many times, but this was our first Sunday Brunch experience... Outstanding! The selection off the menu was varied and the portions were tasty and ample... recommend any of the "Benedict selections and the Waffle with Blackberry was sauce was scrumptious. Service was top-notch and we never felt rushed... will do this again real soon!
