Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill - Deer Park Ratings and Reviews
We had not had steak in a long time and decided to return. It was excellent as were the au gratin potatoes and brussel sprouts. My drink was generous AND they gave a wonderful slice of chocolate cake for a birthday celebration. It is a little pricey but well worth it.
We hadn't been to Stoney River for about 10 years but had been wanting to try it again so when our kids wanted to take us out we suggested SR. It was a Sunday so it was not terribly crowded which was nice. Our waiter, Andrew, was very nice and professional. When the drinks came for
Our daughter & son-in-law they were 3/4 full so I questioned Andrew about it and he took them back and they returned full. We were near the bar (which didn't have many people at it) and I watched the bartender who looked young and looked a little inexperienced.
When we ordered a second round of drinks it took a long time for them to come to the table, not sure whose fault that was, the waiter or the bartender. Food was good, not great. We had two fish
dishes, two steak dishes and one chicken dish. I hate to be negative but I imagine you want a truthful review. With all the other restaurants out there and with the money you spend at them I would not go back to SR and would not recommend it.
Everything was wonderful! Service was terrific. Our waitress was so helpful, friendly, fun to joke with. Great wait staff. Food prices got me, but food was prepared to a T. Steak, tuna, shrimp were all delicious and well proportioned. Cozy and warm feel. Fire side tables were nice. Fun to celebrate your anniversary !
Nice cozy spot to eat at after the tree lighting at Deer Park Town Center. Service was excellent. Only complaint is my husband and I both got the steak and biscuits and it was over seasoned. Way too much peppercorn and they smothered the same seasoning all over the vegetables. I had these before and don’t remember them this way.
This was our second time here and what a huge disappointment. They were in a hurry to get our order and the food came out quickly, unfortunately our server disappeared for fifteen min and didn't bother to check if things were fine! Guess what, they weren't. They served us some soggy fish dish with no flavor and a steak that was cold. They did recook the fish, but it took a long time and we were not all eating at the same time. I will say the side dishes and salad are good, too bad the entrees lack! Doubt I will go back.
This is our favorite steak house in the area. The steaks are great and the martini perfect! They have Prisoner wine by the glass, which is a big plus. We enjoy a good red wine with our steak, but don't want a full bottle. I don't know anywhere else that offers such a premium wine by the glass. They added many nice touches since we were celebrating a birthday.
My wife and I have visited Stoney River on multiple occasions and this experience was consistent with our past visits. The service was prompt, courteous and attentive. The food as always was excellent. We’d definitely recommend that you put this restaurant on your list for a special occasion or just a night out.
Stoney River Steakhouse in Kildeer is one of our favorite “special occasion” restaurants. Always consistently good meals, drinks and service. Our table ordered 4 steaks and one chicken dish. All steaks and sides were served hot and as ordered. The crusted chicken breasts were something I would come back for again. Deborah was our knowledgeable waitress who was prompt, kind and attentive. This restaurant is not inexpensive but worth the price.
We’ve had the opportunity to eat at StoneyRiver 4 times now. Ate and drank at the bar, which is a very nice experience. Service is beyond reproach. Food is so good...really nice variety...mix drinks are wonderful as well the wine & beer selection. It’s one of the best restaurants in the area. The Chef is outstanding and creative. Worth the trip. The menu has something for everyone. BTW: The Ribeye is awesome and salads are over the top! Thank you StoneyRiver for wonderful experiences.
I chose Stoney River for a brunch outing (8 of us total) to celebrate my daughter's upcoming wedding. The staff and servers couldn't have been more accommodating. We were seated at a large round table in a quiet area of the restaurant allowing us to relax and converse at leisure. The brunch menu options were plentiful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal selection...not to mention the brunch cocktails. I had been to Stoney River before for dinner but this was my first time for brunch. Their caring attitude and great food made this day a memorable one for all of us, especially for my daughter and I. What a positive and delicious experience. Definitely recommend a visit.
Great service. 10 minute wait after our reservation time - worth the wait! Good menu selection. Generous sized drinks. The rib eye bigger than I could eat, enough for leftover lunch today. Big enough baked potato to be able to slip with my wife. A really wonderful neighborhood gen of a restaurant.
Our server was awesome and attentive. They used to go out of their way for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. but have stopped bringing a slice of cake on the house for occasions, which is too bad. It was a nice touch and with the slightly above average prices, they could still add that nice touch without losing their shirts.
The food was excellent, as always. My ribeye was perfectly grilled, the baked potatoes are huge and perfect for me but the mashed are as good of a choice.
We had eaten there prior to this past Friday evening. Once seated, we asked for the specials and were informed what they were. Informed the server, that we wanted to see an evening Special Menu, and she went to locate one. She came back and stated that she could not find one and told us what the specials for the evening were. I stated to her, that the previous time we had dined at Stony River, I had order and eaten the "baby back ribs" and "Special Seared Salmon"asked if they were available. She immediately told me that "Stony River has never served baby back ribs and they did not have the item for dinner. As for the special on salmon, just what was on the menu. She could tell from the look on my face that I was shocked and informed me she would go and ask if they had ever served ribs. After several minutes, she returned and stated that she has only been working there at Stony River for a couple of months and she was informed that several months ago, Baby Back Ribs & the Seared Salmon were on the menu and that they are not available until further notice. She again informed us what were the specials for the evening and asked if we had any further questions pertaining to the specials and the present menu. Informed her, that we would look at the menu again and and them make our decision for our dinner. We waited for approximately 5 or so minutes and the server returned and asked if we were ready to order and again informed us that the evening specials did not include baby back ribs or the seared salmon. We informed the server that we were not interested in the menu or for that matter, dining at Stony River for the evening and departed.
The food was a bit overpriced. The quality was good. There is not enough description on the menu in regard to what is in the food. I order the sweet potato casserole my fault probably there was quite a bit of marshmallow in it.
The service by our waiter was good; however, my friend had to ask the hostess who was serving us , and everyone around us had server . We tried to get their attention; however, they ignored us.. that was a disappointment.
I wouldn't recommend due to the high prices , and we were overlooked and did not get prompt service. Once again a disappointment.
