Stoney Brook Grille Ratings and Reviews
The servers was great and attentive
It was loud
The bar was fun they had a trivia
Someone recommended the seafood tower but I did not like it because you did get big pieces of shrimp or crab It was all chopped up in tiny pieces
The menu had a lot of variety to choose from
Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly hostess, but it was very difficult to hear her due to the noise level. Both live music (love it) and loud diners (sound dampening needed?) made the dining experience at this terrific restaurant a 4 rather than five star for my husband and I. Not a deal breaker, but certainly difficult to have nice conversations. Even our waiter had to lean in to give us the specials of the night so we could actually hear them. Nice decor, delicious food and appealing bar with nice cocktails. We will be back!
This place bills itself as a fine-dining family restaurant. The food and service almost qualify as fine-dining, but the ambiance falls short. Think Applebees with higher level food. Lots of kids running around and an exuberant noise level. We were there for a special occasion and we'll probably go back, but just for a casual meal with friends.
The Sunday brunch was awesome. The selection of food not only covers the standard brunch items,(breakfast potatoes, precooked bacon and sausage etc.) but they also have some unusual items like General Tso's pork or crispy zucchini balls. There are waffle and omelette stations and the best carved turkey breast I have ever eaten. The dining rooms are quite nice and not over crowded. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. Overall a great place to go for brunch.
Five of us went to dinner - we all got the filet mignonette on special and it was delicious! Ginger mashed potatoes were soooo good, and the baby carrots with the balsamic carros were the best. We all had salads too which were fresh and chilled. Drinks were great. All in all a really excellent meal. New menu, lots of great choices! We will be back soon!
The food was just OK.
The waiter had an attitude, disappeared after taking dink orders. Came back to take appetizer order but never offered specials, water or bread.
The appetizers were delayed but other tables got their food. He cam back with food and stated the kitchen was very slow. I said it was his issue and he got confrontational but later apologized.
The owner did credit the appetizers and offered a discount for our next visit.
I guess i need to take a break from dining here for a while.
My family and I traveled from Freehold, New Jersey for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my birthday. We were a party of nine with a reservation for 11:30 AM. We were shown right to our table and greeted quickly by our server Ryan who was very attentive with filling drink orders and explaining the buffet to us. The buffet itself was sumptuous... and for $23.95 per person, well worth the price. The food was delicious with plenty for everyone. We were surprised and happy to enjoy both old favorites...bacon, sausage, home fries and new treats..cheddar fried grits and short ribs eggs Benedict! Made to order waffles and omelettes were fresh and delicious. The lunch options did not disappoint- the roast pork and freshly carved turkey breast were a hit and everyone loved the penne a la vodka. After all that, make sure you leave room for desserts.. the lemon raspberry cake is to die for! We will be back......
The food itself was excellent. The interior design is lovely but the noise level, with sound bouncing off of all the hard surfaces, was extremely loud -- even with the dining room only half full at times. It was difficult to carry on any conversation and also made it difficult to hear our server and vice versa. I believe this is what led to some confusion over the preparation and delivery of our order. The server was fairly attentive, but having to also keep all of his tables' water glasses full throughout the meal, he was stretched pretty thin. (Note to management: consider hiring someone to focus just on keeping waters full, to keep the fresh water cold, and dishes cleared away). Our server did his best to correct some mistakes with the order, but I was surprised that nothing ended up being done on the bill as a gesture to the confusion with the order. We did enjoy the food we received (again, some of it wrong), but likely will not be back as it just wasn't a relaxing experience. The noise level wasn't "energetic" as described on the star rating above it was just downright LOUD due to the acoustics in the place.
First time here a month ago was GREAT across the board (food, service, value, atmosphere, etc); so we came back.
Very disappointed this time around. If this was first visit I would not go back. However, because it was so good the first time, I will chalk this up to "a bad night" ... and look forward to a much better experience next time around.
Met up with my girlfriends for Sunday brunch. What a treat! The buffet was extensive and offered something for everyone - even healthy fare. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious My favorite was the Sweet Potato Wellington and Eggs Benedict. I highly recommend this place for Sunday brunch. Reservations are highly recommended.
The minute we walked in, all 4 of us said how nice the place was. The staff was attentive and friendly. We were seated, ordered food and drinks, and were pleasantly surprised when each item came out. The pot stickers were top notch. Pasta dishes for the ladies, and burgers for the men. All were perfectly cooked. The burgers were medium rare as requested. The waiter, a young man, not 21, was a lot of fun, very helpful with our questions about the food, and was not pushy. We wished more waiters had this guys talent. All of our plates were emptied clean, which is a good sign!! The owner came over and talked with us. I found this place on the internet. It was close to a concert we were attending. Their website really helped me to get a feel for the place. If you go here for a meal, you won't be disappointed.
Went to the Easter Sunday Brunch with our family and were pleased to take part in all of the huge selections that were offered. The staff was very attentive and pleasant and the food was wonderful as usual. The restaurant has a lovely decor, the staff is helpful but not overbearing and the value is superb. We often go there just for Friday night drinks and burger at the bar! It's a fun, friendly and delicious way to start the weekend. I'm glad this place is in our neighborhood.
