It was nice. Reasonable, decent food , prices and service was excellent...I recommend.
The bar was crowded and loud. That was great if that is why you were there, we were there for dinner. The noise from the bar carried into the far corners of the dining room and we were forced to yell to be heard. The service was brusk, the waiter totally lacked manners and it was obvious that he had never been instructed on how to wait tables or take care of customers. The food was fair, the mashed potatoes served with my pork chop were watery and tasteless, the chop was inconsistently cooked, raw at one end and dry at the other; the other vegetables on the dish were cooked to a point where they were indistinguishable.
I have been to Stoney Brook before and never been this unhappy, apparently, I am not the only one because even at 9 PM when were leaving the dining room was almost empty.
Always lives up to our expectation.
Celebrated my Mom’s birthday with their Sunday brunch . Everything was very good and the selections and variety of food was excellent . Everything from eggs to lamb so a wide variety :)
I enjoyed our lunch very much. The service was great and food was fantastic. However I think the meal should come with a cup of soup or a small salad to start off with.
The food was good and the server was pleasant, however, when one of my dinner companions asked for straws for the water glasses, he clearly rolled his eyes at her and made a face. A few minutes later he dropped off one straw and left before we could say we needed more than one. When I saw him walking by again several minutes later I asked again if we could have a couple more straws and he rolled his eyes and walked away without answering. He was not trying to even hide his irritation. There were 5 of us and he wasn't at the table often, we had to try to catch his attention if we needed something. We're not the type of patrons who required constant attention, but when you also shouldn't have to spend 10+ minutes trying to get your servers attention for a drink refill or napkin, etc. When you pay $150+ for a dinner for 5, you don't expect to have the server roll their eyes at you and get irritated when you need a straw. Also, the dishes and empty glasses on the table were so bad we kept constantly having to try to stack them up so we had room to eat. It was not good service
Our waiter was outstanding and the food was excellent!
Enjoyed a great lunch. One of our favorite restaurants! Looking forward to our next visit - Sunday brunch.
We like Stoney Brook, its a good local place and a nice selection of entrees. Our only complaint has been some entrees are hit or miss. I ordered a pan seared fish which i thought would be a light meal but was heavy on sauce on the top - not what i was expecting. My daughter ordered a shrimp appetizer as her main course and was swimming in teriaki sauce, way too much made it inedible. Again its hit or miss, my son got a burger and it was great
My husband, son and I ate there this past Friday night. We sat in the bar area where there was a great guitar player/singer. Our food was amazing - I have some dietary restrictions and they were happy to accommodate. Our server was top notch - making excellent recommendations. Over all I give it 5 stars and can't wait to return!
The menu was vast and interesting, however, our meals were very ordinary for the price. The restaurant turned out to be alot more expensive than we realized. $29.00 for three baked stuffed shrimp was a bit pricey. Add to that a salad and dessert and the price really crept up. The shrimp were not jumbo and mostly stuffing. Cannot recommend this restaurant.
We thoroughly our meal. It was perfect for our family with teenagers. Everyone had a good choice of food and the food was very good. We would return.
Server was fantastic. Food was delicious - as always. We drive 40 minutes to get here and it is well worth it.
Go early. When it fills up around noon it is very noisy. The waffles were very light and very good. Lots of variety and everything was good.
Nice casual meal.
It makes me sad to say that something changed at stoneybrook grille. We have been having dinner here for many years, but for the last year or more we have been frequenting this restaurant one to two times per month. The food is usually pretty good and if you go before 7, you can have certain drinks at happy hour prices. We got to know several of the workers and always felt appreciated for our patronage.
This past Saturday night, after a long day, we landed for a quick bite. My husband got a burger which normally comes with fries. Sometimes he prefers onion rings or onion straws for a change. It is usually an even swap without any issue. On this night when we received our bill, there was a strange additional fee. I ask what the deal was and we come to find that there was an up charge for the onion straws. No warning when we ordered, we were just charged $3 on a $10 burger. The most insulting part was when we questioned what was going on, we were told the owner, who we had just warmly shook hands with when we entered insisted that charge be added and rather than coming to us and explaining, he sent some young uptight girl we never saw before from the kitchen to rudely explain it to us. She basically called me a liar when I told her we had done this many times before and received no charge. Anyway, it was quite shocking and seems as though the days of appreciating regular customers are behind us. Oh well, there certainly isn’t a lack of options around here. I guess this will no longer be our regular spot.
Large restaurant with very nice modern decor. Staff was welcoming. Service was extremely efficient without over the top intrusion. Food was very good and presented with flair.
Made reservations, did not have to wait .
Food good. Waiter was decent. Overall good experience
The ambience reminds me of a hotel restaurant but I’m ok with that. They food was outstanding all around! We had appetizers, dinner and dessert and everyone was happy with everything. We also had drinks from the bar that were great. The service was pretty terrible but when we brought it to the managers attention, he was very apologetic and more then made up for it. His attention would absolutely make me go back!
Decent local restaurant - I rarely give out 4 stars as expectation is good food at reasonable value with a good variety on menu - all of which Stoney Brook provides.
If you want to have a conversation over dinner might ask if they have a quieter section - and if you find trying to hear/talk with a lot of background noise annoying (my situation), definitely ask or consider other venue.
We had a nice Valentine's day dinner. The food and service were good, except for the long wait for dessert. The dessert was excellent, so we could forgive the wait.
Great onion soup! Always enjoy the food and the service. Very consistent. Noise level can get alittle loud.
Calamari was absolutely awful, clearly not fresh. Burger was passable but really nothing special. One coworkers crab pasta was bland and tasteless. Service was poor as well. Bourbon ordered neat was brought on the rocks (and rather than return it to the bar our server told us the bar was a mess...wait WHAT??), sauce requested for calamari was forgotten, lettuce included on nachos when specifically asked to be excluded (again, kitchen was a mess), garden salad brought rather than caesar salad...and then the server argued with the woman who ordered the salad before reluctantly returning to the kitchen for the correct order. Would not return to this restaurant.
Excellent food and attentive wait staff.
Excellent food as always and great service by Thoran!
The service was very slow even though the place didn’t look particularly busy. The waiter got several of our orders wrong... wrong side, forgot to leave off sauce, didn’t have the correct condiments, burger wasn’t cooked to the correct level of doneness. It was a long wait for food, then coffee... and especially long for the check. The food wasn’t anything great and the menu not very interesting. We won’t likely return.
We have been going to the Stoney Brook Grill for years. The food was pretty good on this visit but they have changed the menu and the ribs in my opinion were better on the old menu including the presentation (used to be upright and round which was very interesting). I also miss the prime rib which was excellent. I hope they bring it back.
This is our second time coming here for New Year's Eve dinner and we have not been disappointed either time! The food is delicious and the service is great. Can be a little more pricey than other restaurants we have frequented but the taste is well worth it!
The brunch was just okay. Service was slow to get coffee, replace my cracked water glass, etc but we were not in a rush. Expensive for what we ate (eggs/waffles). Likely won’t be back for brunch but will try dinner!
We recently visited SBG with a small group to celebrate a family member's birthday. We have dined here on several occasions and this one was just as enjoyable as our previous visits.
First and foremost, our server, Thanos, was fabulous. He was personable and very attentive but not overbearing. He made sure everything was to our satisfaction. One one of our dining members found their entree too spicy for his liking, Thanos immediately brought a menu so another selection could be made. We had some elderly guests and he was extremely patient with them.
The food was up to SBG's usual high standards. Everything was prepared as ordered. The only issue a couple of us had was that the brussel sprouts had bitter/sour taste, but that could have been from seasoning (?) such as a citrus juice (not sure). Other than that, food was fabulous.
Xmas eve dinner for family
Great value and great service. Lots of options for the entire family without breaking the bank.
We went for the Sunday brunch. The Service was excellent. Food was good, but there was not much of a selection considering the price charged.
Great menu selections of all entrees (fish, steak, burgers, pasta, chicken). Seafood was fresh and delicious. We had two entrees of prime rib which were slightly disappointing. There were several areas of very tough and chewy pieces.
Will definitely be back
Atmosphere was beautiful. They had the lobby decorated and even had a harpist playing for Sunday brunch! Food options were great and well organized. The price for brunch was very reasonable and it is a buffet so you can take your time. Staff was friendly. It was a bit loud however there were a few small parties going on. Overall would recommend and will definitely be going back.
Always get a great meal at Stoney Brook. Service and atmosphere always perfect.
We were attending a concert at nearby R.V.C.C. we were glad that we dined here again. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The filet mignon special was tender and delicious.
A nice local establishment with a menu variety.
Good for meeting up with friends.
