Great live music, good food and friendly service. I would definitely return again.
Food was ok....but the live music was so loud that the sound was distorted and peaking. It was actually painful at times.
Dinner before concert. It was great! Our reserved table was ready and food was yummy! Nice wait staff and cold beer!
We had a lovely meal. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The Dubay Band was great. Fun dancing. Great music. All enjoyed their meals.
Poor food. Bacon in everything without notice. Bacon in Cesar salad?? People should be notified about it ahead of time.
My sandwich wasn't grilled well. Very loud! I only enjoyed being able to sit outside as the noise was way too much. The waitress was amazing though she did all she could to take care of us.
Mothers Day breakfast. It was quiet and gay. Found the food was very good... but the price was way above average for breakfast... even with a Champaign and grapefruit beverage for my mom plus a carnation? It was above $25 per person. I expected this price at a higher end establishment.... but let's take a close look here... it's a bar turning tables. The good point was ... The staff was grest but the price reallllllly changed her tip. Sorry for being harsh, but your standard needs to reflect the cost specially when Hamilton is becoming a foodie haven .. we wont be going back anytime soon.
The wait staff was very friendly, great band when we were there.
Stonewalls is the best live music venue with great dining, not only in Hamilton, but also in the entire province
The food was excellent but the service was incredibly slow.
Great atmosphere and good food. The menu was a little sparse but everything that was on it (that we ordered) was very tasty. Great location for us to walk to the First Ontario Center.
Excellent servers, nice comfy tables and chairs, great selection of wines and beers , great parking and very convienient to the downtown core.
This was our second visit to Stonewall's, and we enjoyed every minute. The food was great -- even catering to the vegans among us, while satisfying the omnivores. Our server was kind enough to share her soy milk with the vegans for their coffee. Overall, a great experience, and we will be back!
The place was nice, the band was fantastic, the service was great, everyone was good, we although did not like the food
We only had the option of ordering from the event menu but were not informed of this when we booked our reservation. The options were limited. Food took a while to come out, we were given free shots to compensate. Overall it was good. But, if you're expecting to be busy (the event menu should be an indication that they were). They could have been better prepared.
Thought the menu was lacking that particular day-only one page print out-but still had some good menu options

We were attending an event at First Ontario Place. It was within walking distance. Due the concert at First Ontario Place - menu options were limited - but was good and suited our needs. Service was good and wait for food was minimal.
I was actually disappointed with Stonewalls. The place looked great online, but once there, my impression was of a run of the mill sports bar. Another thing that got me was the prices were way to high for the portions served. The food was also a bit on the bland side. I'm not sure why Stonewalls gets the hype it does, because it's a typical downtown Hamilton dive. Maybe growing up and living on Vancouver Island for so many years has spoiled me with their 5 star restaurants and accommodations. My experience in Stonewalls was mostly one of disappointment. One positive however, the waitress was attentive and friendly. I do know that there are some Hamiltonian's who've gotten it right. Rankin's Grill is a top notch establishment, and I would recommend it over Stonewalls, any day.
Attended for dinner and to enjoy a band. The service was attentive, the atmosphere is perfect! The Prime Rib poutine is heavenly. Hamburgers a tad greasy, fries are lovely! We will definitely return for other occasions!
Went there before a concert. Very busy but service was efficient and food was good. If going before an event, get a reservation!
We used a wag jag deal and it was really good. The entertainment was fantastic!
Dinner and a movie with friends
Our group had a great time,,,, the band Freedom Train was playing, always a big crowd, the unfortunate part is we tried to get on the dance floor, just packed and my girlfriend got elbow in the head. Really just an accident, .
Also I notice that people had drinks on the dance floor, kinda of scary to say the least.
All around fun time, we will go back again . We will just stay away from the dance floor.
We had a blast, awesome band, great service and fun place, would come back again for sure!
our server was amazing, it was super busy and she managed to check on us often and was super friendly and helpful. We were table 101 (I think that was what was said- the closest booth to the band) Just wanted you to know what a great server we had!
Thanks for all your help with my birthday surprise. I really appreciated your help with the decorations and cake. My boyfriend loved it 😁
Our server was excellent. We like to go to Brunch before a play at Theatre
Aquaris on Sunday afternoons, Stonewalls was perfect for this.
Food was good and prices were good. What more could you ask for?
I have been to Stonwalls several times. The food is reliably delicious and the service is fantastic!!
Went here before a show at the First Ontario centre. Was a but disappointed with the good selection. They had a small menu to order from not the full one tonight as we had the last time we were here. Food came quickly though and was good.
Our server was excellent and very attentive, dinner was quick and very tasty, plenty of food. We were not rushed and had time to talk before ordering
great service , friendly and professional wait staff and just a fine neighbourhood friendly pub atmosphere..
Great for before an event at the First Ontario Centre (formerly Copps). Jam packed! So-so food
Visited before a show at 1st Ontario Centre. Handy to the venue and menu looked great. Was a little disappointed that on "event" nights they have a reduced menu that is more strictly pub food as the full menu was a draw. Ended up having wings and they were fabulous. They are very good at churning lots of people through with terrific service and great food. I would go back again for their pub fare.
Great service! Their event menu had enough choices and we made it to the concert in plenty of time. Free parking too was a bonus and only about 6 blocks to First Ontario Place.
Called the restaurant the day before the reservation to add three people and they confirmed it on the phone but did not have it at the time of seating.
Added three chairs at the end of the table and made it quite cramped.
Took two hours to get food from initial seating, put us in a rush to get to show.
Too noisy, ribs were dry , French fried cold, small and dried out, ribs were not hot, cramped seating, band was too loud for small venue , not happy they added gratuity to our bill , paid 49 with wagjag and then 3 drinks plus wagjag tax plus tip was another $30 , not impressed.
My boyfriend's Dirty South Burger was enormous, and my portion of lobster mac and cheese was also very generous. The food was of high quality and truly delicious. The only tiny negative thing that sticks out in my mind about port experience there was the server's assumption that I was only ordering food for myself. After I was finished ordering she was ready to take our menus and walk away before asking my boyfriend if he wanted anything! That was strange. Otherwise we loved the food and will be back.
I don't know anything about stonewalls. I booked a table for the 28th of October through open table and they booked the 4th so....???
I would like to tell you why I only gave 1star for service. We started with a terrific waiter. When his shift ended the service was absolutely terrible. We use stonewalls for of our social gatherings and have never encountered such horrible service. It was not busy but our waitress seemed to have no interest in serving. We had to go ask the bartender for service. For a large group I was very disappointed in this waitress. It took her about 30 minutes to figure out of bills. 5 in total. We had to tell her one by one what we ordered throughout the night. We were there from 8pm to last call. Fortunately, we were sober enough to inform her of what we had. She was just such a scatter brain. Not the right job for this lady. Luckily, we know how wonderful it can be at Stonewalls. Otherwise if this was a first experience for someone, they may not return. Thanks!
Great food, terrific friendly staff and they allowed the booth to be decorated.
