Lovely outside patio with good distance between tables. Waiters wear masks and gloves.
Erica provided excellent service.
If you are looking for old New England / Irish tavern charm with good food and friendly service, Stone's Public House is the place. A nice selection beers on tap from local breweries and of course Guinness. Dine indoors by the fireplace in the pub, main dining area or outdoors on the patio. Service is great.
Great spot in the center of Ashland. Outdoor lunch was excellent!
Wonderful last days of summer evening at Stone's -- first day eating out since start of the pandemic. We ate outside on the terrace-- tables nicely socially distanced and sanitizing efforts visible. The Cobb salad was amazing (huge)-- so were the corned beef and cabbage egg rolls, which were fresh and piping hot. And what's a night out at Stone's without yummy Irish bread and Guinness? Perfect evening.
Service was great and the patio was lovely but not impressed with the food. Shrimp appetizer lacked taste. Fried Eggplant sandwich tasted good but the ciabatta was stale and the fish and chips was under cooked.
The staff was wonderful the food was great we loved the dining on the patio it was a great experience
Lovely outdoor patio. Food was very good. Servers were excellent. Fully compliant with Covid regulations. We felt very comfortable eating there.
Fun place, great patio very far apart tables. All our meals were very good. Scallops appetizer enough for full meal and really good.
Good. Would go again
My husband and I sat in the bar for an early dinner on a Saturday. We have loved Stone's since we moved into the area and were happy to see the bar area was open again for seating, it is our favorite place to sit in the restaurant! The atmosphere is amazing, the bartender is outstanding, the food is top-notch. We will never stop recommending Stone's to anyone who asks. Thank you to their staff and management for handling the new cleaning and restrictions in stride. We ordered from them many times when it was take-out only, and would continue to do so if it were still that way, but we are thrilled to be able to join them again on the property to take in the great atmosphere they have created. We will be back soon!
It was great. My sister and I needed it! We felt very comfortable and safe! Food was great!
Great food and drink. On main street so trains pass through. I highly recommend this place. Just could use a little more lighting in some spots outside. Food has never disappointed.
Great service; great atmosphere (love the patio!) and good food!
Awesome food, love the place. Outside was great, plenty of distance
The wine choices were limited and my Albarino tasted suspiciously like a Chardonnay. Other than that the service was quick and the food was very good.
Great place to get away, and enjoy a night out with the family, friends, or even a date night. Just what we were looking for!
Great outdoor dining space and fantastic staff
The first time I had been there in a while. They had a lovely outdoor patio and the seating was suitably far apart. We had a very friendly and efficient server. I enjoyed the Heirloom Tomato Salad, Salmon with Fingerling Potatoes and warm Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp with ice cream. All the food was delicious and the wine menu well priced.
We ate on their outside terrace. Tables were 10 feet apart and all the covid-19 guidlines were in place. There was one paper menu and you accessed the wine list on your cell phone. All staff wore masks and gloves and service was prompt and friendly. It felt very safe and we will definitely go back. As always the food was very good and the restaurant is a valued downtown Ashland business
Food was excellent, ambiance was great and our server was outstanding. Terrific draft beer selection. Tasty fresh salads. My favorite local restaurant in all seasons.
Always great times and great service at Stone’s.
The food and service was very good. Definitely coming back!
I’ve eaten at Stones for many years but this was my first time eating outside. It was very enjoyable and the food was very good.
We have liked Stone's since long before COVID, and were glad to see it was still a comfortable and cozy place to eat. We had a table inside where they were well spaced apart. The staff was congenial and did a great job of reviewing policies and procedures in an upbeat manner. There was a variety of choices on the menu and the food was delicious. We were glad to see that the new normal is pretty close to being the old normal.
Sat outside in nice little nook that felt like our own room. The waitress was excellent! Food was yummy! We enjoyed our lunch and felt safe!
One of my favorite places to go in Ashland. Good food. Good drinks. Good atmosphere. Never been disappointed in 20 years!
Great food and service
Chicken was overcooked and very dry, also seemed leftover taste. Spinach and fingerling potatoes were great . The scallop app is fantastic . Burger and fries very good
Stones Public House is wonderful. We sat outside and felt very comfortable with the cleanliness, staff was sanitizing and wearing masks. We have 6 adults and everyone loved their food. Our waitress was super nice and kept our glasses full!
We will be back!
I made an online reservation for 4, for outdoor dining and got a table at 12:30 pm. was wonderful, relaxing, quiet. 3 of us ordered fried eggplant on ciabatta bread, with basil pesto and red peppers. Came with Caesar salad -2 got. I got field green salad with cucumbers, half cherry tomatoes. $ 14.00 each. We said wonderful tasting. One thought too much bread. 4th person/birthday boy/guy/man got n.y. sirloin steak with horseradish butter, fries and asparagus, $ 32.00. He enjoyed it, said delicious. then one piece of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and chopped walnuts on sides. We sang Happy Birthday and the guy gave us a small slice of cake with a spoon, and a dollop of whipped cream, included. Unlimited soda for $ 5.00 each. Very nice day and we full. Also had strawberry rhurbarb crisp... We did not get too much to eat. Next time.
We made a reservation at Stone’s Public House, sight unseen, because of its convenient location near the intersection of I-90 & I-495. Imagine our pleasure at finding their lovely shaded, comfortable patio. The menu is varied & interesting, our chosen dishes
were delicious (the Clam & Smoked Haddock Chowder is outstanding!) Our server (Riley) was helpful, friendly & efficient. The patio fronts a busy street but a tall fence & well-placed plantings keep the street noise at an acceptable level. Our friends drove 2 hrs from The Berkshires to meet us (we drove 2 hrs from Cape Cod) for this special lunch.
Stone’s Public House fulfilled our needs perfectly on every level!
Going out during covid with careful & thoughtful hosts.
They are doing a great job with safety. We had a fantastic lunch. Our server was amazing!
John Stone's has great ambience...
great food and great staff...especially Vicky, Kim and Isabelle
Dining on the patio out front is an excellent choice. Plenty of space between tables. Attractive area to sit in, fenced in off street, and the sun sets behind the building so it's shady. Great burgers and salmon BLT.
Safety first..masks required when walking in but not everyone is stopped..
Food was ok. We were quite disappointed to see that the Moules were no longer on the menu, which was why we come here. Ordered chicken Caesar salad ..it was ok.. and calamari, which were good and ample.. a single glass of Chardonnay and we made it thru another day of the new normal. Hardly perfect but nothing is anymore.. everyone is just trying to make it out alive.
Excellent food and a cheerful and very engaging waitress
