We always have a great time at Stone's Public House. The food is consistently wonderful, the portions generous. Our favorite menu items are the clam and smoked fish chowder, the fish and chips, the Guinness mussels and the cheese board. We've always gone to Stone's Public House following my daughter's voice recitals in Hopkinton. She just graduated high school, so no more recitals, but we are sure to find another excuse to enjoy Stone's Public House often.

After a long high school graduation ceremony and traffic, etc, it was nice to have a reservation at John Stone's Public House becaue we were all starving. My brother and I each had the roasted cod, adorned with a few littlenecks in the shell and generous amount of thick, crispy bacon with the creamy sauce, potatoes and scallions. It was delicious! My 94 year-old mother loved the garlic shrimp. Service was excellent and our waitress was attentive.

Stone’s I’m has long been one of our go to spots. Unfortunately, this visit was not up to the usual standard from a service standpoint. After taking our dinner order, we never saw our waiter again until he came to take our plates away. We had wanted to order a second round of drinks, but never had the opportunity. Food was great as always, but not the friendly and efficient service we are used to here.

Very historic location and awesome ambience. Are dinner with colleagues and the food was excellent and the rotating New England selection of craft beers was fantastic too. Our server was awesome and told us the history of Stones and how it is known to be haunted.

My wife and I go to Stone's Public House often. This was one of the worst meal experiences I have ever had. I had requested an upstairs room which was no longer available because of the outside seating. We were seated next to a table of 8-10 extremely loud patrons. We literally could not hear the guests sitting at our own table. It was miserable. The waitress was aware of this and she apologized at the end of the meal, but I think there should have been a more active intervention. The other table was either oblivious or didn't care. It will be a long time before I return to Stone's again.

We live very close by but don’t dine here very often. The menu doesn’t change, ever! As a vegetarian who has eaten the Shepards pie three times now, twice in person and once from delivery during Covid. Last nights pie was so bad and we were with friends so I didn’t want to send the embarrassment back. It was a mushy nothing. Not even sure what was actually in it. Strange textures and mostly mush. Clearly they may have cooks but no chef in sight. The server even commented on how the menu doesn’t change. It’s bizarre. Not a lot of restaurants in this area so you have to drive to Wellesley, Needham Boston etc for anything great. I would encourage them to bring in a chef who might be able to revamp the menu and include real vegetarian dishes not one bowl of mush ( Shepards pie) or a fried eggplant sandwich. Learn to make a protein that isn’t an animal protein. Sorry for the harshness but feel it’s better to be honest and informative.
