Stone's Cove KitBar
There are of course booths and tables branching off of the KitBar if you'd like to be facing your company. Our unique design allows for an energetic and lively experience.
The menu features a variety of American cuisine with a contemporary twist and specialty cocktails. We feature lunch, dinner, brunch, and happy hour specials daily.
I love this place. They cater to my wants. Great food.
Love this neighborhood gem! Staff are all so nice and very efficient. The food is consistently good and made to order to always served hot. We all enjoyed what we ordered.
This eatery is unique, more bar space than tables— huge fancy marble top bar that takes up some 70% of its space (and the restaurant is large, very nice)
This is a high energy hip place, noisy but tolerable.
The food is DELICIOUS! I wanted to lick the plate clean ;-)
Had the crab cake appetizer and salmon main entree... heavenly!
I will become a regular.
My team had a great experience and some of the ones that are from this area had no clue about your establishment and are planning to visit with their families in the near future. I will use your facility again when I am looking for a dinner or lunch.
Great location vibrant atmosphere always enjoy this place. Highly recomended.
We had a great time at Stone's Cove. Though busy, we were seated quickly at our favorite table. We've come to know several of the servers and many stopped by to say hi, even though they weren't working our section. Flat bread (chicken parm) was good as ever. I tried the cobb salad for the first time. It was different (all ingredients mixed together), but I enjoyed it that way. Hubby's burger was a hit as always. The new chocolate cake dessert is AMAZING and could feed a family of 4 easily, it's that big.
Food was good but our server was not very attentive. We would have ordered more food but he didn't come around very much.
A friend and I have been to Stone's Cove KitBar three times in the past year or so. The first time the service was quite attentive and the food was excellent. The second time the food was good, but the service was not good. This last time, neither the food nor the service was good. The exception is the Hot and Cold Dips, which was still tasty. The Mackinac Flatbread was weak and not very flavorful. The beef sliders were okay. The S'mores Flatbread was overcooked. Service started out slow and never improved. We had to keep flagging down a server to replenish water (Hate that - pay attention!) even though the restaurant wasn't that busy on a dreary Saturday afternoon. We were very disappointed in the experience this time - and we'll debate whether there will be a next time.
Service was efficient and attentive, but for my 2nd consecutive visit, a food item wasn’t prepared well.
A quibble; the Kit tots with my burger weren’t fried either hot enough or long enough - they weren’t crunchy outside, and arrived lukewarm at the table.
Otherwise, the Meatloaf cupcakes, my friend’s salad and my burger were all great.
Our server was a little distracted and slow to respond.
There was a hair in my salad and I reported it (found it near the end of the meal), specifically requesting that the salad not be comped.
However, a manager should have been summoned to confirm my complaint was registered.
In short, a bit more attention to detail and responsiveness is required for STKB to continue to thrive.
Chicken tacos were great. Not a great spot for a romantic dinner based on most seating being at a huge table that circles the kitchen which means you’ll usually sit next to your date. Very reasonable prices.
Always a fun atmosphere. Service slow - wait staff not as attentive as usual. Good Valentines venue.
Great place for a good meal that won’t overstuff you. Staff is always friendly.
Most times we visit Stones Cove we have an excellent experience. It's not a huge menu but what is offered is well prepared and present. It's a fun environment.
However, with our party of four our food seemed to randomly arrive at the table. There was nearly 20 minutes between the first entree and the second without so much as an explanation. The last entree (mine, the steak special) was almost cold and overcooked by 2 levels (MR -> MW) and unseasoned.
It was valentines day but our reservation was super early so they weren't even half full. I'm treating it as a "one-off" experience that I expect to improve next visit. Apart from the complaints the other meals (cod, fish tacos, pasta prima) were very good as were the desserts (tried one of each).
Stone Cove has a very unique menu and is worth trying when you're in Herndon, VA
This place was definitely better than i expected. They make all the food in front of you which is different, but i didnt mind. I think we tried five different menu items and they all were delicious. I would come back.
We were pretty much ignored all night. We sat at a table attached to the bar. Other than Matt, the service was not good.
I reserved what I thought was two seats at the cute bar-type seating around where the wait staff are. That area is arranged like you're being served in someone's kitchen. Unfortunately, I was seated at a tiny bar table against a wall in the back of the restaurant.
I ordered the hot/cold dips as recommended. The flatbread crisps with it came out completely burnt. I tried to flag down the waiter several times but it was 30 minutes before he returned -- meanwhile, the entrees were brought out and the hot/cold dips had become lukewarm-all-around dips. Another waiter noted that the flatbread was burnt and brought out some fresh ones, but at that point the entrees were taking up the whole table. They didn't comp the appetizer that we unfortunately never got to eat. The entrees were reasonably priced although the cod was very undercooked -- and made me sick all night. I was hoping to have just an hour-long meal, but the service was so slow that it took over 2 hours just for an appetizer and two entrees. Just waiting for the check at the end was at least another 20-30 minutes. This place had so much potential, but unfortunately the service and poor quality from the kitchen just ruined it.
If ever I visited of a more enjoyable casual (but foodie) restaurant in consistency and ease of service, food quality and flavors, and a friendlier and inviting atmosphere, I can’t recall it.
Stone’s Cove Kitbar consistently wows any first time guests (and me) with all this and more!
Four friends met and we enjoyed happy hour! Second day in a row for me, tells you how much we like this place!! Happy hour Guacamole is a winner!!!
This restaurant is consistently good, service is amazing. The seven of us all loved the food. The chili is delicious.
Food and staff were awesome!
Great food and great service. As most have said, the shrimp and grits was amazing! Can't wait to go back. Ahi tuna app and flatbreads were great too!
LOVE this place! The food is delicious -- make sure you get the bourbon butter! The staff are all phenomenal...very helpful and always witty. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.
A great meal with great service in a pleasant setting. What else could you want?
Were seated quickly. Service was fast and extremely friendly. The food of excellent. Would go back again any time.
We had a very nice evening returning to the place where my wife and I first met 2 years ago.
The wait staff was entertaining and made the experience more fun than just enjoying excellent food.
We’ll keep coming back!
One of our favorite spots. Never disappoints.
Great New Year's Eve! Food was delish. Brought some first timers with us.
Stone's Cove is one of our favorite restaurants!
Fun eatery, service varies, food is good...we like having this place nearby
Always excellent food in intimate n friendly environment.
Always great food and service. We love this place.
Food was the highlight - everything was outstanding. Service was solid as well. Only drawback was the noise. Literally had to shout to the people sitting directly next to you.
Conscientious and friendly service. Drink specials are great too.
Food was amazing, service was good and atmosphere was inviting. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I thought the seating wasn’t what I was expecting for a dinner for 2. Seating is mostly at the bar and not much in the way of traditional seating. Still really cool if you’re not looking for a romantic evening out.
Good American food (needed it after a week in Europe) with great music and service
Great ambiance and service. Good beer and drinks. Regretfully, the food let down the rest of the experience. Flat bread was not bad. The guacamole and chips were not good. Overly acidic and garlicky. The chips were of extremely poor bought in quality. The naked wings were supposed to be seared (we think) but were really really burnt.
What a shame. It’s a fun place and experience but the food prevents me from wanting to return. Sorry folks.
Great food! Highly recommend the meatloaf with mashed potatoes appetizer and the chicken with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes entree.
Excellent meat chilli and incredible service.
