Excellent location. Excellent food. Great service. Overall an A+.
This was our first visit to Stoneground. It was very good. All four of our entrees were very good. They had good flavor and were just the right proportions. There are vegetarian options and meat options. I would personally recommend the port tenderloin - it was superb!
One thing I would caution anyone with nut allergies would be to avoid the rum cake dessert. I had asked about tree nuts and they guaranteed there were no nuts. There weren't any nuts but I did have a reaction (slight) so there was some cross contamination from something.
Service was tremendous. Dillon was attentive. Presentation of the food was perfect, and the food and drink pairing recommendations were excellent.
Away for Thanksgiving holiday. Took chances and Wow were we surprised. From service, to atmosphere, to food presentation, to food taste, we were wowed. All pasta dishes were fabulous, hot and fresh. Donuts for dessert Uber tasty. Just might have to move to Salt Lake just for this restaurant.
I can’t say enough about Stoneground! I had family in town and wanted them to experience local dining that SLC has to offer and of course I chose Stoneground!
They loved everything about this place but mostly how good the food was!
Thank you for a wonderful experience from the moment we sat down, to our awesome server, and the excellent food, they left impressed.
I’m bringing my office staff for our Christmas party here and can’t wait for them to experience Stoneground!
- Polenta tots, just fine, nothing special.
- Chef’s Pizza: Very Good
- Tuna Piccata: The tuna was okay but the lemon caper butter sauce was espectacular. Recommended.
- Tiramisu: Let me put it this way, “Best dessert ever in SLC, for real!
Stoneground Kitchen was amazing. We had a business dinner with Samuel as our waiter. He was attentive and kind. The food rivals anything you’d find in the larger cities. It was definitely FIVE stars!
Upscale restaurant with outstanding food at a reasonable price. Not often both my wife and I have a great dining experience. This place is a favorite. Highly recommend.
It took forever to get drinks, refills and good. Food was not good. Chicken in my salad tasted odd, dips for the Facchino weren’t the same as usual (like a bowl of sour cream ... really?!) the spicy honey pizza’s didn’t have enough honey on them. We were very disappointed, it was a totally different experience than what we’ve in the past!
Server was knowledgeable about wine selection and chef's special. Attentive enough that you didn't feel interrupted, but also not neglected. Love the ambiance of the place.
Love this place! We keep coming back for the great food and the fun ambiance. Fun downtown date night place!
Stoneground has become a go to. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent wine. The Black Tagliatelle with Lobster is delish
my only regret is that I didn’t know about this place sooner. I randomly found it while looking for dinner reservations on OpenTable and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was gorgeous inside, we wanted to live there! Our waiter was amazing, he knew the menu so well and checked in with us the right amount. I had the gnocchi and it was amazing, and our beignets with local gelato was to die for! This place is a must go.
My husband and I had a great experience at Stoneground Kitchen. We were glad we made a reservation because people who hadn’t only had the bar as an option for seating. All the food was excellent! The polenta tots as an appetizer were amazing. I could have eaten two more servings of them! The gnocchi was excellent- and their homemade doughnuts? AWESOME. It was a tad overpriced but overall I was happy with our evening!
Great service, unique food choices that were fun. Will be going back again.
They didn't have what I researched and wanted to order on the menu when I got there. They were sold out. Other than that service was great, atmosphere was great!
Good designer Italian food; amazing service - perhaps the best I’ve experienced in SLC to date!
I went to Stoneground when I was a kid and haven't been back since they have updated the place. My wife and I went for our anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better restaurant to celebrate. Beautiful setting, amazing food, and a very knowledgeable staff. This will definitely be a place we come back to for celebratory events.
Great food. One of me and my wife’s favorite spot.
One review said it was good place for quite conversation, wrong very noisy. On the plus side food and service was very good.
Exceptional food and service as always. This restaurant is a true gem of the neighborhood!
Stone Ground has upped their game in the last several years from pizza and pool tables (they still have the pizza) to creative Italian fine dining. My wife and I had dined in their nice outdoor space before, but this was the first visit "inside" the renovated digs. Wonderful, rustic stone and wood, but an upscale vibe with white napkins and very well-stocked with talented waitstaff. Our server, Samuel, was very knowledgeable about the variety of Italian wine selections available, the selection very well chosen and reasonable in price. All of the staff worked together to provide a seamless, timely and yet not rushed dining experience, including fresh cutlery for each course. The menu was not extensive, but a wide variety of choices. The presentation and taste of our appetizer (shrimp cannoli) and entrees (black tagliatelli and cab and avocado agnoletti) was perfect--and well worth the reasonable price, far below other Italian establishments not nearly as good. Can't wait to return!
Stoneground is by far my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City. Great atmosphere and incredible food.
The visit to Stoneground was mainly to try out its contribution to Salt Lake’s Dinoround event. I have observed that there are restaurants that enthusiastically embrace the idea that the semi-annual downtown event is an opportunity to shawcase the best they have to offer patrons and draw them into the downtown dining scene and others whose participation is less enthusiastic. Judging from Monday’s dinoround dinner, Stoneground belongs in the latter catagory. The dinoround dinner menu was nonexistent. Neither the waitress or the receptionist knew what was being offered. After the waitress researched the question, she reported there was one choice— a house salad or soup, chicken Parmesan, and gelato for $30. Since our purpose was to try out this “menu” my husband and I both ordered, choosing the salad, which was the highlight of the meal, with fresh greens, grapes and sugared walnuts. The chicken breast was heavily breaded, under coagulated cheese, served with a choice of pasta. We chose linguini:, which came quite a bit more solid than al dente. The tomato sauce was well seasoned and although not extraordinary, was quite good. The ample bowl of gelato came with a small dish of raspberry coulis to share, and was a pleasant end to the dinner. I was disappointed because based on experience I know that Stoneground is capable of producing excellent dishes. If restaurants aren’t really into Dinoround, perhaps they should leave it to those who go all out. I am not likely to return.
This place is fabulous. I can barely wait to go again.
Great find! Sunday nights they do family night with delicious salad, a variety of Pizzas, and a Pasta delivered to your table. It was delicious. We'll be back!!
Always great food and exceptional service. Thanks to Courtney for taking care of us so well.
Loved the recommendations from our waiter! He was very attentive! Will go back again!!
The ambiance is absolutely charming. I can do without the stairs, but the view from the window tables is great of the outside and interior of restaurant.
We could not have had a better experience. We were seated on time, our servers and hostess took care of everything, and the food was delicious.
Lived downtown pretty close to stoneground kitchen. Walked past many times but never went. I took my girlfriend there last Saturday. It was a great experience. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. Parking in the back but plenty of free parking on the south side of Washington square on the weekend.
Four in our party: I had the Black Tagliatell and it was outstanding. Wait staff was excellent and ambiance was both upscale and charming. Lively conversation so probably not the best place for a first date. Yes, we'll be back.
Great night for a double date. Delicious dinner and ambiance.
I really like this place. Alas, not every dish you get will be awesome. It’ll be good. It’ll be fresh. I keep coming back. But, it’s a bit spendy for what you get.
My experience at Stoneground Kitchen was wonderful. Loved the food, loved the wine, loved the server. Definitely sit outside!
Food and service was great and timely. Atmosphere was cozy and it was easy to hear and talk.
My boyfriend and I came here for a Saturday night date on a whim and it was one of the best nights of our lives! We had wonderful bottles of wine, phenomenal food and the service was exceptional. Courtney, our server, was knowledgeable, attentive and yet not too overbearing! The atmosphere/view on the patio was stunning as well. The rest of the staff was great! They were all smiles and very friendly! Would highly recommend the pork tenderloin and the Margherita pizza! You won’t be disappointed! Thank you Stoneground Kitchen xoxo
My first visit, but not my last! We loved everything! It was delicious and a great vibe!
Service is bad and food is just ehhhh.
