Another good spot at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge.
Good for breakfast
I set up a dinner for 15. As the number of guests grew, they were flexible to meet our needs. Then they saved a an extra 4-top just in case.
Service was superlative at every level, food was great, it was a good atmosphere and wasn't too loud.
Wonderful selection of food and great selection of bar drinks, I highly recommend this place!
We ate at the Stonegrill five times during our stay at the JWM Desert Ridge Resort. My wife is celiac and this was the only restaurant that was suggested to accommodate her gluten free requirements. *(It would be nice to have options with the other restaurants in the future). The entrees and salads were very good and well prepared. However, only one of the five occasions did we have service from an acceptable time standard. On one occasion we sat for twenty minutes before anyone came to our table. Otherwise the time of food delivery was very long when all we ordered for one of the lunches was soup and salad. I would go back to the Desert Ridge Resort in a heartbeat ... it was a wonderful venue for a convention. I believe the only issue with Stonegrill is a little "tighten up" needed in the kitchen and wait staff.
Good food but very loud
Overall it is a nice place with nice atmosphere. When we arrived hostess was a little rude and said we can not sit outside. Restaurant was empty inside and she set us at the table next to the kitchen and employee entrance, so we could hear and see everything what is going on at the kitchen. Luckily our server Arthur was great!!!! He allowed us to move outside and also he got a heater for us!!!! He took a GREAT care of us!!! He showed his genius care!!! Arthur made our stay!!!!
Great place for lunch. Good food, good service, just what I was looking for at lunch.
Staying at this Marriott Resort. Had done breakfast several times with great service and good food. The fruit selection was outstanding. Tried dinner one evening after long day. Difficult to discern where the Grille and Twenty6 separate. Seated promptly. Dining room was not full and could follow conversations from other tables. Menu limited. Asked about flatbreads and was told that you had to be in Twenty6. There was a patron eating one on the way in at the inside bar or could have ordered in the room(on room service menu). Ordered meals with some issues. Food good. Server was not attentive as expected. Long gaps between checking back at table. Was not encouraged to stay longer. We should have just ordered room service.
Casual, good menu choices that are varied, excellent and friendly wait staff. Nicely decorated.
The food was good but not great. The service was ok but not outstanding.
Refused to seat us 10 minutes before reservation, even though our table was set up and ready, and restaurant was half empty. $35 for valet parking! (Self parking was available, used that instead.). Slow service. Nice waiter.
Regrettably, a large tour group was checking in, many of whom went to brunch. We had arrived first, but were seated in the same area that the newly arriving tour group guests just behind us were seated. The very boisterous and enthusiastic people milled about, standing and loudly talking and rearranging tables to seat larger groups. There were several alternative dining areas far more suitable to an older couple dining alone. We considered it to be a bad move by the hostess staff ruining what would otherwise have been a delightful brunch.
The quinoa bowl my wife was served was devoid of moisture - we asked for sauce to make it palatable and were charge for it. My enchiladas were appetizer size and were nothing to write home about.
On both occasions, we enjoyed exceptional service and food offerings. On par with other outstanding Marriott venues. Make sure you have reservations, however. This is a popular place. And rightly so.
My Wife and I stayed at the JW Marriott in Phoenix. While there, we had dinner at the Stonegrill. It is a very nice restaurant and our waitress, as well as the entire staff were just great. Throughly enjoyed and will visit it again.
Delicious food and drink. You will not come away hungry. Service and food were excellent. Granted, it was on a slow night. Will need to return when it is much more busy to see if the results are the same.
My chicken quesadilla was delicious and seasoned very well.
Our veggie omelet was very dry and bland. I have had the veggie omelet any time before and it was great! I asked for gluten free toast with butter on the side and got blueberry bagel and NO butter. The server didn't can back for a long time! I told him about the blueberry bagel! He told he would get me one slice of toast. By then it was to late. We had hot tea and the server was not around. We had to ask some one if we could have more hot water. My girlfriend and I were very disappointed.
It is surprising, being a Marriott restaurant, that this place is probably the best restaurant at JW Marriott Desert Ridge. My wife and I had the burrata, which was excellent. We also had the cactus salad, which was also very good. We were not terribly hungry, so your waiter suggested we split an entrée. We shared the short rib, which again was very very good. In fact, my wife took 1/2 of her 1/2 home for lunch the next day. We have dined here quite a few times, sometimes in large groups and the food is constantly good and the menu has many interesting southwestern style choices.
The food was good but was freezing most of the time
We were staying at the Marriott Vacation Club and walked over to the Stonegrill for breakfast. The weather was fabulous and the buffet breakfast tasted so much better just eating outside. I would highly recommend to eat here if you are in the area.
We love your brunch and all the wonderful options on the buffet. The outside seating is great (despite all the birds). Thank you for gluten free options that are tasty. Steel cut oatmeal toppings the best. We come here frequently
Location outside was perfect, by the fireplace, service from Jonathan and the staff outside by the live music was good.
We had the best waiter alive serve us! Food was great too!
Great brunch buffet with the normal staples such as made to order omlets, breakfast meats, fruit and cereal but also had delicious cheddar and buttermilk biscuits and gravy (although I wish the biscuits were warm) and great pastry/bread selection with fun topping including Nutella, sprinkles and coconut. The crumb cake was so good. I only wish there were waffles as most brunch buffets offer waffles and it usually my favorite part. And it would have gone great with all the toppings they had already. The hot chocolate was also very good. Can't wait to go back!
Good food and nice server (Nick was his name, I think). Food was all tasty and well prepared. One of us had the braised ribs. Ordered large salads; they were generously-portioned.
Several kids around, so not a romantic spot. Could use some updating on the decor. On the pricey side.
On a separate note, we did have the breakfast buffet. All very tasty!
This isn't the place for a romantic dinner at 7:00 pm on a Saturday night. There were many groups with lots of young children. The parents were having a good time socializing and seemed to be oblivious of their young children running all around disturbing others trying to enjoy a peaceful evening. Supposedly, kids eat free on Saturday night. The food was very good and the service was great. I was expecting to have a nice quiet evening and that isn't what I got.
We were staying at the JW for the weekend. Food was great as was the service. Exactly what you'd expect from a resort like the JW. The ability to book a spot through open table is always a plus!!
For being a restaurant in a JW Marriott, I was very disappointed. It has more of a diner feel to it. Food was not very good for the price, especially at a JW.
We ate at Stonegrill while staying at the JW Marriott to celebrate our anniversary. Our waitress was overly persistent, almost in our faces , the start of our meal. She walked by when I was tasting my sal on, which needed to be labeled as heavily spicy on the menu. Our waitress offered to take it back. The returned salmon was overlooked and dried out, and placed again on a spicy sauce. Fast forward , we were done with the meal, and the waitress brought out an anniversary dessert. We asked her to take our picture, and 15 minutes later, she appeared. I have a severe tree nut allergy, which I indicated at the start of dinner. The waitress seemed to have no idea, if the dessert she brought us was allergy safe. The waitress said that there may be peanut butter in it- Dinner took 2 hours! Poor service and lackluster food.
The title says it all. A little disappointment for the sweet potato bread pudding, but worth a $4 gamble.
The setting could not be more relaxing and peaceful. The weather was mild, the scenery great. The menu was eclectic and the food was delicious. The service was impeccable.
You will want to make reservations for a table for brunch at this popular place with great food. We had 4 in our group, and we sat outside under a shade umbrella. The buffet had many choices, including a made to order egg and omlette bar. They had many breads and sweet pastries to choose from, along with a huge assortment of fruit. The service was fantastic. We will definitely be going back!
The staff, both hostess and waiter, were not attentive, were rude and not very good at all. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
A lovely venue with nonexistent service and terrible food. The waiter was very pleasant however incompetent, for example, appetizer sausa first arrived mid way through the entree. The chicken dish had pieces of meet that defied mastication and the short ribs were all fat with occasional islands of discernible meat. Not worth the time , money or aggravation. It is difficult to rate the service---it was nonexistent. After being served entrees no one ever enquires about satisfaction. I asked for lime when I ordered sparkling water at the start of the meal--it arrived after the sausa just before they cleared the entree dishes. The appetizer guacamole was good but bland for having ordered it hot.
Sometimes Tacos and enchiladas and other simple foods do not need to be overly done with so many tastes.
The shrimp and pork tacos were a disaster. The green chili enchiladas were similar in that they seem to throw every spice, sauce, cheese and taste they can in. Less is more sometimes.
Also the hostesses all seem to have a smug attitude from the moment you approach them.
Like other reviewers, we found the food to be so-so, and the service to be poor. I wouldn't recommend.
It’s very nice indoor and outdoor setting. Very kid friendly with a large lawn they can play on while you eat. Large manmade river and pond for sound and ambience. Great for brunch.
I ate here at several times over a five day stay at the hotel. The food was always very good but the service was hugely variable; sometimes fast and accurate other times very slow and unresponsive. If you are staying at the hotel you are somewhat of a captive but the place would be hugely improved if they could bring the service more dependable.
