Stonegrill @ JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa Ratings and Reviews
We were very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the Stone Grill as typically we find hotel restaurants overpriced and average at best. The service was fantastic and both our meals were delicious. I had the Salmon and my husband had the short ribs. We will definitely make a return visit the next time we are in town.
Disappointed in our meal here. Hostesses at the front were flustered trying to handle seating the 7pm reservations. There were 5 of them, shouldn't be overwhelming. Dining room felt very stale, not warm and/or cozy. They use this space for a buffet as well as ala carte which is what we chose. Food was just "ok", service was good though.
We appreciated the ambiance, which made us feel at ease. The servers were terrific, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We had a light lunch. Later, we ordered nachos and churros for snacks at our meeting. The churros are incredibly good! If you have to spend an afternoon someplace for a business meeting, Stonegrill sure helps make it pleasant!
Made reservations for my husband's bday. I had left them a note about the same. We were pleasantly surprised when our server (sweetest person ever ) brought champagne glasses & dessert for us. I was really impressed that they took note of my request. And another reason for my 5 star was the server. She was a genuinely sweet person & made our evening very pleasant. Coming to food, were both vegetarian . I had ordered enchiladas minus meat & was expecting cheese enchilada, but chef made scrumptious meal made of fresh harvest vegetables. It was the best enchiladas I've ever had. Would highly recommend this place to everyone!
Stone Grill is the main restaurant at the JW Marriott in Desert Ridge. We had breakfast here and it was an excellent meal. The blue corn pancakes are tasty and the drink menu with seasonal juices as a nice surprise. They offer a full breakfast buffet for 28 a person as well as the al a carte menu. The view is of the pool area and resort and very peaceful early in the morning for a quiet meal. The service was very friendly and efficient. Prices are a little on the high side for a breakfast spot in Phoenix but to be expected with being in a resort. Overall a great meal and well worth partaking if you are staying at the JW.
Came here for brunch at the end of a bachelorette party weekend at the Marriott and it was awesome. Perfect patio dining, delicious pancakes (blue corn), and our server was super fast and accommodating. He was great! We came the previous day and it took forever for breakfast (two hours!!) and our waitress was rude and slow, but Sunday they definitely redeemed themselves. I would go back
The food was average, not bad but not great either. I had chicken mole, and the mole was just OK. Service was spotty- took a while for someone to even ask for a drink order.
After that, service was relatively timely.
My husband had steak, and there to, it was acceptable just no outstanding at all.
Quality of the food received mixed feedback from my guests......burgers,salmon,enchilada good....shrimp ,chicken mole lousy!
Service was poor....waitress must have never been one before or she was angry about something....argued about whether the Starmount Chardonney was served by the glass even saying the menu was mis printed.....clearly it was offered by the glass......
Did not return to ask if we wanted additional drinks...had to go to the bar to get my own.
Had to get another waiter to get a 2nd dessert for our grandkids guests...since the waitress was not findable.
There were 9 of us therefore the 18% tip was automatic....Personally ,I would not have left a tip.if that was an option.
We have used the JW since it opened and were disappointed in this visit!
We held our Company Christmas lunch here. We ate outside on the patio which was adorable. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 10 minutes to get seated and it was not crowded. The food was fairly good but not incredible. Service was slow - several of our employees had to wait for drinks and sides.
There was some kind of construction going on in the pool area so there would be some REALLY LOUD crashes all of a sudden which was disconcerting. The worst part was the birds. It was like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's movie, the Birds. They swooped down several times at our food. We were disappointed.
Went for breakfast for a couple of mornings while staying at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge (the restaurant is in the hotel). They have a nice breakfast buffet, including lots of gluten-free options. The make from-scratch omelets with lots of good topping choices. If you choose the buffet, you can also order anything else on the menu that may not be out on the buffet line (my husband ordered an eggs benedict and said it was very good). It's hotel fare- so expect to pay a higher price, but the service is excellent! They'll even send you with a "to go" cup of coffee or tea when you leave.
