Breakfast at Stone Grill was actually the best part of this resort for us, did not have an opportunity to use any of the other amenities as we were there for non-vacation reasons. The food was good, excellent actually, service very quick and the people very friendly. It’s a wonderful thing that the Marriott gives out the coupons for breakfast because while it was delicious we would’ve had a hard time paying $60 for a couple eggs and bacon no juice no muffins… if you have an opportunity to enjoy breakfast here and you get a coupon for it, all the better! They are great at telling you it includes the tip but honestly step up and give the guy an extra five, they deserve it!
This is a great breakfast place. I never found a bad item and morning drinks are great!
My dinner ( short ribs) was excellent, however my husband salmon was very average. Our waiter was not the best - never offered us the specials. Outdoor ambiance was lovely. For the dinner we received, (including 1 beer) the price was a little high.
We had breakfast on the outdoor patio and if that is preferred, when booking on OpenTable you should request Outdoor Dining. Many people were being turned away because they did not have reservations. We had great service and enjoyed our All American and Breakfast Sandwich. With it being our Anniversary, the server brought a brownie on a Happy Anniversary plate and it was delicious. I would recommend dining at Stonegrill, but be aware that reservations on Open Table are basically needed to dine with them.
Stone Grill did not have my Open Table reservation.
I showed up precisely on time.
Open Table mis-represented the menu. It was prix fixed $75.00 per person.
We walked out.
I realize the menu is a shortened version due to Covid-19, but with a full resort, it is time to expand the menu, hire more servers and start offering room service again. Our meal was good once it arrived, but service was slow due to having only 2 servers for the entire outside patio. My husband had the 1/2 Chicken and I had the Scallops and both were very good. We also had a cup of the Tortilla soup and that was delicious also. It seems their reservation system isn’t working well because there were people being turned away at the door due to not having reservations, and there were 10 empty tables open. When we asked the hostess, she said they were all reserved for guests with reservations. After having our meal and lingering alittle with a glass of wine, we looked and all those same tables were still empty. I would think 15 minutes after reservation time, if the guests don’t arrive, the table is given out to those walking in.
It was a wonderful breakfast!!!
Waiter made recommendations and was spot on. Food was delicious
The food was fresh and the service was attentive. It was really nice eating outdoors.
The eggs took an hour to arrive, the restaurant was about 20% full and our server never checked in to see you the food was to bring needed items
We did not know menus were On a QR code, which was not shown at our table. We waited 20 minutes for a glass of water. The waitress did apologize and it did not seem to o be her fault. It was very understaffed. Some food did not come until we asked a few times. The food was pretty good. Just hard to pay $140 for breakfast when lots went wrong.
It was unusually disappointing. Two of the four of us ordered a new york strip steak. The steak was of low quality. Very chewy, almost like a low grade of meat. Certainly not worth 36 dollars. Salmon was okay, but nothing amazing. The server was enthusiastic but there was a slight language barrier. The desert was just awful. Crem brule and a cheescake. Way short of our expectations.
Excellent brunch! Beautiful outdoor seating! Would highly recommend. Resort pricing.
Very underwhelmed by this restaurant. Had a very pleasant server but it was jus impossible to outrun the atmosphere and fact that we were seated in what was clearly an ‘overflow’ room. Not the kind of setting for a $20/glass of wine, food was okay. Beautiful hotel, jus disappointed.
Nice restaurant. Very good atmosphere outside. The service was slow. They do not have enough servers. I will go back, and hope it gets better.
Great fresh food with attentive service and pleasant staff!
Excellent NY Strip Steak. The bread served with the meal was amazing as well! No room for dessert, although it looked very tempting.
Always good food and great service!!
We missed our brunch reservation at another restaurant and I took my family here (again) out of desperation. Never. Again. This remains one of the worst Marriott’s I have ever been to. Corporate REALLY needs to send someone out here. If you want to compete in the Valley, you simply cannot be this mediocre. The food is always cooked average at best. Presentation = IHOP. Service, likewise, average at best. Moreover, invest in a freaking coffee machine so you can offer more than simply ‘fresh brewed coffee.’ And in today’s day and age, you need to offer more than just ordinary dairy milk with coffee. The attention to detail at Stone Grill is downright awful. I’m sorry, but there is no other way to put it. I’ve been here seven or eight times, both brunch and dinner, because I live nearby - but never again. This is a three star type restaurant. Anyone who rates it well clearly doesn’t get out much.
Dining outside, if there are tables available, is the way to go.
We are staying at the resort and this restaurant was very accommodating to our change of plans on several occasions.
Service was great...food was good...was able to get a table reservation for 4 day of...could not get 3 pool chairs for 3 days so I was surprised I could get an 8:15 reservation...
one side of fries feeds 4 people...spare ribs was too salty but flavor and tenderness was good
resort was almost booked to capacity and they had lots of seating even with covid protocols...
The atmosphere is very quiet and the scenery is beautiful. They were very busy but we were sat quickly because we had a reservation. We went for brunch and the food was really tasty. The downside was the 50 minutes it took to receive our food. The server came by the table 3 times in the 2 hours we were there. We never received a refill on drinks or even an “house is everything?”. I needed some basic condiments but the server was never around for me to even ask. For what you pay, I would expect better service. The portions could be better but the food is great once you get it.
Great place to eat. Terrific menu selections and generous portions. Exceptional service. Better have reservations...
Unfortunately the wait staff was completely swamped and unable to service the patrons. The host/hostess kept seating people knowing that the kitchen and wait staff couldn’t keep up. 2 1/2 hours later we were just finishing dinner. I can say that the food, once it arrived, was absolutely fantastic.
Great outdoor dining setting. Service was exceptional and food was great! A little on the pricey side, but there were some more economical options. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
We paid $60 for a breakfast burrito, 2 pancakes, and potatoes. Not sure how that is possible but we did it.
Overall was a good experience but my wife's steak came out VERY rare but we didn't see our server for quite some time and couldn't let her know so we picked around it and ate what we could. Pretty high price for the ambience you get but my pork chop, the salad and drinks were good.
The food was great and service was amazing! Thank you
Was really disappointed in this Restaurant. The price we paid for the quality of food was ridiculous. The ambiance and service were just ok. When staying at such an expensive hotel and going to that price of a restaurant would have expected a lot more.
Phew. The worst dining experience I’ve had in decades. An hour and a half after being seated we received cold, poorly cooked steaks. While we were being ignored, the propane on the heat lamps ran out. So as our meals froze inside, we froze outside. Finally, the propane was refilled, and the steaks were recooked arriving 2 hours after we were seated. Still not good, but we had no other options at that point. At least the steaks were warm even if the sides still weren’t. I appreciate that the bill was written off, but I’d have gladly paid for another meal at Roy’s instead. If you’re at the JW, do yourself a favor and have dinner at Roy’s or go to In-N-Out burger at Desert Ridge.
Great servuce,, food was terrific our server was teslly attentive. Great experience
The burbon salmon was excellent! We also got the chips, salsa, and guacamole for an appetizer. Loved it! Our waitress was very friendly and nice and did a great job that evening.
We had a most enjoyable dinner at Stonegrill on February 18, 2021. Our server was knowledgeable and efficient. Our meal was excellent. We enjoyed the quinoa and arugula salad. It was just delicious. We also enjoyed the glazed grilled salmon. We enjoyed 5he beautiful outdoor terrace and had the prime table beside the blazing fire.
Our server was fabulous and the food was delicious!
I booked for Valentines hoping to have a romantic dinner. I'm not against prixfix dining, but I felt that the appetizer to entry did not offer any sort of theme. I ordered the pork belly as an appetizer, but it was just a pool of grits with pork belly on top. The steak overall was acceptable but it was not cooked to the requested temp. I hope that on future years to come more of an effort is given to make it feel like its Valentines day (dim lighting, maybe some flowers or flower petals on the table?) The ambiance was lacking, and I feel that for the price you pay youre expecting to get a better vibe. The wait staff was great though, appreciate the hard work.
Mostly everything was great, but the entire experience took 2 1/2 hours! We wondered at one point if they were ever going to bring our entree'......
The service was terrible, waitress complained about being busy, brought wrong wine to table, food tasted like cafeteria food, waitress asked us if he had been served??? comical and extremely different than what was expected. I would not go back ever again.
nothing like getting the table next to the kitchen when 40 empty tables existed.
