Stone Rose Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Lovely view, But....we made a reservation for this lounge. When three of us arrived the rude hostess seated us at a table in a dark corner that was less than 24 inches. (When another couple with no reservation came in, they were seated at a huge coffee table with couches right by the window.) The waitress was almost impossible to flag down and when the food and drinks we ordered did arrive, there was no room on the table to put them. The beef and chicken "sticks" were edible. The hamburger-overcooked and lobster rolls -very little lobster drowning in mayo, both marginally edible. It's amazing that Michael Lomanaco would have his name tied to this establishment. The only saving grace of going to this Lounge is that it is right beneath Lincoln Center Jazz, so if you need a place before the show you may want to go there. Beware, it is extremely overpriced and the food is barely passable. Heed other reviews.
The ambiance was very nice and the crowd was very swanky. The music was great! We arrived around 1 am on a Sat. in Feb. of 2015. It wasn't very crowded at all and the kitchen had closed by that time. There's a pool table and several chairs and couches. The view of Columbus circle was a plus. The waitress was attentive and the drinks were pricey. Nice for a nite cap.
So disappointing! The worst hostess ever, super rude and unprofessional! We had a reservation but when we arrived we were told they cannot accept it?'!?!?!? And that the wait time for a table is at least 1 hour! Then why on earth did you have for that night open reservations every 15 minutes apart on Opentable???
The place is really beautiful, the view is really nice. We had wine and cheese and it was good but not amaaazing. The bad is the staff, the host was really unfriendly and the waitress a bit better but not good as well. But if your company is good the view worth a stop.
We went on a Monday night to listen to jazz and have a glass of wine - we did not dine. The wines by the bottle are pricey -very pricey. So we instead ordered separate glasses of wine There were four of us. They were the typical $13/$14 per glass - but were not good wines - pretty terrible.
But the view is fantastic and the ambiance is nice. And live music is great. Maybe they can improve their wines by the glass offerings. We will try again soon. And maybe have some food too next time.
Their cocktail menu is good - drinks are good. But it seemed like one server was responsible for the entire floor- took a long time for a server to take our order and for the food to come. We are drinkers and they could have sold us way more if they had been around to take the order. The meatball sliders were great - could have eaten several of those, but could not taste the cheese in the grilled cheese and the soft pretzels, that come with the cheese dip, were hard. I realize this place is about experience - cushy lounge seats, the view, the bar.... And that's all great but it doesn't make the food and service less disappointing.
Upon arrival, the hostess immediately said she wasn't able to seat us and that she called my cell phone to tell me that. She did not call my cell phone. And she did not seat us. She said there was a private event and, despite our 6:30PM reservation, she was going to have to ask us to leave at 7PM. She never got in touch with us. The website made no mention of having a private party that evening (had I known, we would've gone somewhere else). And she was very rude when we came in. I really like stonerose but this past experience left a sour taste in my mouth.
Took my friend for her birthday to Stone Rose Lounge. I wasn't as intimate as I thought and it doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It looks like a more elegant lounge, but then there's a fooseball table in the middle of the bar. I wasn't impressed with the cocktail menu and didn't care for the offering on the menu. The classic cosmo was better than the signature drinks. The food was very taste and we enjoyed it, but it just wasn't the atmosphere we were looking for. Great for groups and tourists, but doesn't have the sophistication that most New Yorkers look for in a bar/restaurant in the Time Warner Building.
I've seen Stone Rose Lounge before but never went in until the other night. What took me so long? So glad I made the trek from my hotel on 48th all the way to Columbus Circle. Music was great. The grilled chicken sandwich and the turkey club were surprisingly delicious and unique with the special sauces. This is my new favorite New York hot spot and I will be back. Loved watching all ages on the dance floor.
It isn't a restaurant, it isn't a bar, but I'm not really sure it's a lounge...so what is it? The food was good (not fantastic). The tuna carpaccio tacos were delicious and the kale salad good, but the hummus in the veggie hummus plate was terrible. The mini s'mores dessert was wonderful.
The plan was to go skating in Central Park and follow that with a nice drink, a light meal and a scenic view. Unfortunately, my date took a bad fall while skating and as a result we were 30 minutes late for our 8:45 reservation. Upon checking in, I was lectured about being late. In spite of our excuse- I understand that late is not good. BUT the place was only about 60% full. Hostess then said- "I have a seat for you". Worst seat in the house- no view, close to bar and front door. If the place was full- fine but between the attitude and the terrible seat-- i recommend that you spend your time and money elsewhere. Waitress was great, good was good but the attitude of the hostess and the terrible seat were both unacceptable.
This is a lovely venue--scenic views of the Park, and sweet dark tables. Apparently they are more interested in the bar scene than the food part, it is a limited menu. But what we had was tasty and just right before a concert. Service was a bit hoity toity for me, but competent enough.
Great spot for drinks and munchies when business entertaining in the city. Large tasteful lounge has lots of room and table service is good. You won't be jammed in or overwhelmed by large screen TV's here. Gets a little noisy after 7 but
comfortable, quiet and nice ambience in late afternoon. Love location overlooking
Columbus Circle and Central Park. Nice drink selection...though at $16 per cocktail you better be on an
We came here from experiening it two years ago on my birthday after dinner and once again experienced it on my birthday this year before dinner. The view of Columbus Circle is amazing and the bar itself is beautiful and vibrant. A bit pricey, but that is to be expected.
We made reservations for dinner here and it really is more of a cocktail lounge. They tried to seat us at a couch with a low table, but moved us to a regular dinner table when requested. Service was quite slow and sorting out an extra charge on our bill took another 15 minutes--all in nearly 2 hours for a couple of sandwiches and a burger. Nice view of Columbus Circle if you're early enough to grab a table by the window.
