Food was great! Waitress was amazing! She was attentive and friendly.
Front door staff needs some work. They acted like we were bothering them. We had reservations but the dining room was empty at just before 5. They stuck us at the table right in front of the noisy servers station. She was very irritated when we asked if we could have one of the other open tables. Walked us all the way back to the front to figure it out before seating us.
Service was great and fast. Food was very good.Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Since moving to Plainfield two years ago Stone Creek had been one of our favorite haunts. We typically eat there about once a month on one of our Thursday "date nights" out. We were previously there with our broker two week prior to our Thursday 3/14/18 visit.
1. Early Thursday afternoon we requested our "regular" Table #61 for 6:00 p.m. and had rec'd a reservation acknowledgement at 4:24 p.m. When we arrived at SC we were seated at #62 because others had been seated at #61. The restaurant had lots of vacant tables, and was anything but busy.
2. We had to wait for what seemed to be a long time for our food to arrive at the table at about 6:45 p.m.
3. I had ordered a small fillet (medium well) . When It arrived at the table the server warned me to be careful of the hot plate (He must have worked previously at Ruth's Chris). There was nothing to be afraid of, however, inasmuch as the pat of butter on top of the fillet wasn't even melted, and it wasn't going to melt either, as the fillet was anything but hot. I suspect that it had been sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting on a server to deliver it during the long while we were waiting to be served. I have a policy not to send food back to the kitchen as I had friends who worked in the food service business.
4. After paying the bill I voiced the above to the manager on duty, but didn't get a very empathetic response.
Thanks for listening and being proactive with solving the above problems, as we like SC.
Solid meal, a low risk choice for a group of almost any background. Prices are fair, would go back if in the area again.
My husband had the crab cake, lobster Mac and cheese with potatoes. His was exceptional. Bread and house served dipping oil was to die for. Atmosphere and service were very nice. My steak was cooked perfectly, but was cold when I got it. Mashed potatoes were luke warm, asparagus was raw in the middle (supposed to be grilled). Simple assumption and long term restaurant experience myself told me that it probably just sat in the window too long. Still tasted good, besides the asparagus.
Always a good choice for a nice meal. Requested a booth that is out of flow of traffic that I have used before. I find it is easier for me to hear and not be distracted by the goings on in the large dining area. Bread and dipping oil always start a great meal. We went with a pasta dish and the pick two meal. Both were wonderful. Service was good and the booth we had was right by a service station which I did not find distracting. Overall a top notch meal and evening.
Really enjoyed my experience at Stone Creek. I went here with a co-worker and one of our customers, and had a delicious meal. We started off with the shrimp cocktail, dined on the filet and crab cakes, and topped it all off with Graeter's ice cream.
Poor service. Cold food. We typically love Stone Creek but this was a very poor experience.
We eat at Cunningham restaurants at least once a week. The food is good and the wait staff is even better. The only issue we had this time was we had a nice romantic two top booth in the bar area, and we had two loud talkers at the bar across the aisle from us. It was like trying to eat dinner at a monster truck night. VERY LOUD!
Enjoyed dinner with my wife before walking across the street to the movie theater. Give yourself at least 1 1/2 hours for dinner, or you'll miss your movie.
Normally this restaurant is great but this last time was not so good. My food came out a full 10 minutes before my friends and we almost missed our movie because of it. It wasn't as good either. I also made a note that it was her Birthday but had to remind them anyway. Even though I made a reservation and the restaurant was empty they acted like they had no room for us. I suppose I caught them on an off night, I'll give them one more try.
Excellent food & service
Very enjoyable experience, plan on going back.
We were actually disappointed this visit. The waitress didn’t know to mix the oil for the bread so we got a glob of oil but no seasoning. We had to ask for refills. The entire desert menu had changed, and all I’d wanted was plain old strawberry cheesecake. The broccoli we had to cut with a steak knife and it had no buttery seasoning. And perhaps the menu had changed on the two pork chop entree, as we ordered from memory, but it too had entirely changed in how it was prepared. Perhaps the fact we were ordering dinner item during what was still technically the lunch hour was to blame. This was hands down our worst experience at this location. I
Fine lunch...good service. Great BLTA sandwich. Butterkase grilled cheese overwhelmed with onion jelly. Burger superb. Solid menu even if it hasn't changed in forever
It was a very uneven experience. Restaurant looks great, server was adequate but the steaks were over cooked, fruit flies by the bar and there was even food on the menus. Horrible experience that a free desert can’t fix.
Love the food and atmosphere...it is a bit loud but overall a great place to eat.
We visit twice a year. Unfortunately they seemed off this time. The dipping oil for the bread was all herbs and no oil. The garlic mashed potatoes were flavorless and a big sticky lump. The steak was lacking flavor as well. Quite disappointed. It’s usually spot on. We had made reservations with another restaurant and decided to cancel because we knew we liked Stone Creek so we should just go there. Sad that it wasn’t as tasty as usual. It was our belated valentine’s dinner and I had looked forward to it for two weeks. I had even thrown my back out the day before and made myself power through the pain to still go. Really disappointed.
Outstanding experience! I've brought my daughter here two years in a row for Daddy/Daughter dance and their food is amazing and atmosphere is perfect! I've also brought my wife here, which she loved as well. Keep up the great work Stone Creek!! We'll definitely be back!
As usual the food at Stone Creek was delicious. I REALLY did not want to pay as much as I did for the scallops, but they ended up being delightful. I did not like the tomato stuff on top- very sweet.
My husband got a burger and their house fries. Neither of us liked that either. The only thing I didn't like was that the server did not ask us why my husband didn't eat his fries. She just took it away without question. (He didn't mind because he just didn't like them- but to me, they should at least ask.) Other than this, our experience was overall good.
valentine’s with friends
I think we would have enjoyed our first-ever visit to Stone Creek (Plainfield, IN) more if we had not been seated directly across from the server station. It was brightly lit with servers going in an out all the time which was quite distracting to our conversation. The food we ordered was good. However, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server was very inattentive and rarely checked on us to see if we needed more drinks and bread. Overall, I was disappointed in our visit. I was really hoping for a more enjoyable experience since we were having a last dinner with friends before their move to Texas.
Stone Creek is quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants. Food is always excellent, especially for the price and the service has been good every time we go in there. The bread is outstanding!
We enjoyed a good Valentines dinner. After a aloof greeting and delay, the manager comped appetizer (very good calamari) and a dessert. Impressed by his awareness of what happened. Food was very good and service was great. We will be back and recommend highly.
Service was great. Good wait staff. Food was nothing special and was not served hot. Nice ambiance. Would try it again, maybe just a bad day for the kitchen.
Always good food and service. The bread and dipping oil is the best! Reasonably priced for date night meal.
I have always liked the restaurant. I had the smothered chicken tonight. The chicken was overcooked on the edges and difficult to cut with a fork. It was a disappointing experience this time.
While the food and wait staff are constantly above expectation, getting seated is not. We make reservations every visit and every visit we wait at least an additional 30 minutes. We are taking our business to Carbonos. Same food and service but their hostess seems to know how to get us seated at reserved time.
We were seated 30 minutes after the reservation. Our table was by a coat rack and the emergency exit. Service was ok, the service was uneven. Great when the server remembered us. Not great when he didn’t.
The food, however was outstanding.
Good as always
Service and meal were exceptional. Very good atmosphere.
Great birthday celebration meal. Table was ready, server was attentive and food was excellent.
Something has changed or the time of day but I was not impressed as I have been in the past. Everything was just good, not bad nor excellent.
The early bird was not tasty and not worth the price
The salmon was covered in citrus vinegarette and did not taste fresh. The waiter did not explain the preparation and the salad dressing w as like ketchup
Very nice atmosphere. Decent food and service.
Couldn’t have had a better experience — food, staff, especially Server (Brandon) were great. Manager stopped by table to check in—a lovely Sunday lunch.
Didn't know they were participating in Devour Indy at this location. Since they were, 3 of 4 meals were from that menu. Brought out of town guests after raving abt Stone Creek and Stone Creek didn't let me down. Great food, great service.
Love lunch at Stone Creek...pick two soup and half sandwich is perfect. French onion soup delicious. BLTA is delicious and clearly freshly made...not bacon cooked the day before. Outstanding attentive service.
I haven't met a Cunningham restaurant I didn't love, and Stone Creek is very near my home, so I go there often. Usually we sit in the bar, where there are large, cozy booths in addition to the bar, itself. This was a family celebration, however, and I had made a reservation for 6 in the dining room. I was surprised by an extra person at the last minute on a busy Saturday night; but a quick phone call, and the manager assured me they would make room for us upstairs.
Very good wine was suggested by our server, and while some did the Devour Indy menu, I opted for the ahi tuna appetizer and the beet/feta/spring greens salad. Both were wonderful, and all the other family members loved their food, as well. You can't go wrong with any of the Cunningham restaurants: Stone Creek, Boulder Creek, Charbono's, VIDA (fab!), Bru Burger, Mesh and a couple that I have yet to try (heard that the Livery was very good, too.)
