Stone Creek - Montgomery Ratings and Reviews
To be honest, we were excited to visit the new Stone Creek location in Montgomery. First, let me say, the food was very good. However, we both felt that the atmosphere in the new dining area did not "feel" like fine dining (and the meal cost every bit as much as we have paid at Eddie Merlot, Carlo & Johnny and Embers). The lighting is too bright, the seating did not feel intimate and, to be honest, it's far too loud in there. We will try again when the weather warms up since we noticed that there is outside dining.
This was our first time at Stone Creek's new location on Montgomery Road. It is a beautiful new building with a lot more room for small and large groups. They now have outdoor seating for warm weather periods and the new bar area is spacious and beautiful. The food was great as always as was the service. It's a great place for good food at a reasonable price. A very good value for your money.
My first visit of many at the new Montgomery location. The restaurant is beautiful and the food and service were great. They always make you feel like they are happy to see you. The parking is right by the restaurant and is plentiful. One of my favorite places to dine in Cincinnati.
I know you are new, but 45 min to get a small salad after having to flag down a server was a little much. Have dined here many times before at old location and was disappointed. The hostess brought our salads and never saw the server again. The salad was not of the usual quality, but no one came back to check on us.
This was our first time at the new location. It was a beautiful restaurant. We had reservations but the restaurant was very busy so we did have to wait. The staff was very accommodating since we had to wait and gave us a free appetizer. The waitress Katie was outstanding. I had the salmon and it wa so good. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. I hope to go back soon
My lady friends and I enjoyed our visit! The food was great as was the service. We loved the new restaurant because it is more open and spacious and beautifully decorated! We were impressed with how smoothly the operation was running since we were there only 4 nights at the new location. We also like the easier access and better parking. We will definitely come back! Thanks for making the evening enjoyable.
Have always loved Stone Creek. Unfortunately this night was not quite as great as usual. They are moving to the new location at the end of the month and it showed - light bulbs were out in the fixture over or table, they were out of our beer choices, etc. that’s ok we’re looking forward to the new location. Food was still excellent!!
Excellent dinner as always. Wife had the scallops and I had the filet medallions with lobster risotto... again. I say that it the most positive way. The consistency of that dish has been amazing. After starting with the blue cheese wedge it was my go to dinner. For the money you simply can’t beat the value. Having said, I have been going to this restaurant for quite some time due to the service and quality of food. As I just looked over the menu for the new location on Montgomery road I was disappointed to discover the dishes are no longer available. As I understand changing the menu to keep things current and be innovative but some dishes (in my opinion) should remain strong go to options.
On a Saturday night, the restaurant was full of folks really enjoying themselves, but we were given a table tucked back in a cozy corner. Our Server helped make the evening fun. Grant had a great sense of humor and helped us with the menu. The food was excellent! Two of us shared the "twin pork chops" and each had enough to eat. We were there to celebrate a family member's birthday, and she was able to pick out a dessert free. I will definitely return to this restaurant.
My wife and I had dinner at Stonecreek on Saturday, January 13.
We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation time and were seated promptly - we appreciated this and the hostess and staff were friendly and accommodating.
We were seated at a table very close to the window and it was VERY loud and the menus were almost impossible to read due to the lighting. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary going on around us - I'm sure this was due to sound reflections and lighting.
This made it difficult to converse with my wife and decide what we want to eat. We don't get out much so we have to make the most of every minute we have together.
The waiter arrived to take our order. I pointed to the half bottle of Merlot on the menu that we wanted and we ordered our appetizer and dinners - spicy garlic shrimp, Tuscan penne pasta with a House side salad, and the Filet Medallions.
Our waiter returned with a bottle of Chardonnay and not Merlot. The brand name was the same but this was a little disappointing since I specifically POINTED at the EXACT bottle of wine that we wanted.
Our appetizer arrived before our bread did which was another small flaw in the table service.
A few minutes later our dinners arrived...the order for the House side salad did not get put in. and the item never arrived nor was it on our bill. Given this and the mix-up with the wine, I suspect that our server may have had trouble hearing our order just as we were having trouble hearing each other in conversation.
All of our food was delicious - I have nothing but good things to say about the quality of our appetizer and dinners.
Perhaps some of this seems a bit persnickety and picky, but when a dinner approaches $100 in cost the expectations change and the small mix-ups shouldn't happen in an upscale restaurant of this caliber and cost.
Is it enough to stop us from going there again? Probably not. If it happens again, we make look elsewhere for date night dinners.
