There is a real problem with lighting in the restaurant around 6-7 PM at this time of the year. The interior lighting is dim, but the windows let in a lot of glaring light. It is difficult to see as you enter the dining room. And in the bar area, the sunlight blinds people sitting there. The old restaurant, with its many booths, was much more comfortable and better lighted.
That said, the food is quite good, and the service is too. But I will have trouble getting my wife to return until the seasons change or they get some improved window treatments and/or increase the interior lighting.
We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the waitress was marvelous. She immediately understood, we wanted a nice dinner and a good time. She encouraged us to take time indeed, gave excellent information and was just a pleasant person all around! The wine was very good too.
It was our first visit to Stone Creek at their new location. Very nice atmosphere. Tyler took good care of us. My steak was undercooked, and it was noisier than we would have liked, but generally a good experience.
Wouldn’t go back anytime soon. Better places to eat.
The décor of the new location is VERY attractive. A bit too noisy at first (7:30) but became much more enjoyable for our group of 5 as the restaurant began to empty out. While our dinner salads were good, our desserts were fantastic. And 4 of them were free because we were celebrating 4 birthdays!!! Our waitress Linda was exceptionally good. We appreciated her saying "Are you still enjoying your dish?" rather than the typical server's question of "Are you still working on that?" I flinch every time I'm asked that! Our table was inside, but for future visits I wish the patio seating were on the east side of the building out of the setting sun and away from the car exhaust from the street.
Very nice evening. My entree was the steak frites and couldn’t have been worse. I am used to this dinner in France and this couldn’t even begin to compare. The meat was tough, chewy and had no taste. I sent it back. Got a salad and it was fine. I think it was just this entrée.
Everything was wonderful. We were seated right next to the kitchen where there was a lot of hustling people and noise but it was fine. The food is terrific and the prices are reasonable. We will be back!
Food was very good and our server was very good- The biggest problem is that the area where we sat had people around us that were so loud, we couldn't hear each other when we talked. I had asked for a booth when making the reservation, but they claimed they didn't have any at the time.
We will not be back the noise level was beyond where we could even hear a crossed a table of six matched by a very uninteresting menu, complemented by a server who had to redo the bills because he got them mixed up between the couples
We are 40+ year residents of Montgomery this is our third trip there but primarily because of the yuppie menu we won’t be back again
Unfortunately the service was not stellar the night we went. Birthday celebration for three of us… Table of six outside. Our waitress seemed distracted. Waters never refilled unless we asked....she didn’t ask us if we were finished for the evening, just assumed and brought our check… We told her we wanted to look at the dessert menu, she forgot. So we decided to pay and leave. While we were signing our bills, she came to the table and apologized for not bringing the dessert menu.
We would have sat there much longer to have more drinks and dessert, however didn’t feel like waiting on the waitress any longer for service as she seemed to forget about us once dinner was over.
My favorite restaurant for a bit of a fancier place without feeling overwhelmed by snooty staff and complicated menus. The food is delicious and always good, staff is very friendly and accommodating. I need my food gluten free on account of Celiac Disease and it is a safe place to eat with excellent choices. My only wish would be that they put their wonderful gf risotto also on the lunch menu.
This was our third time at Stonecreek and we absolutely love the place. Each time we had wonderful meals and the bartenders really know how to make a great drink. We were NEVER rushed and enjoyed great conversation in this lovely atmostphere with good friends that you could actually hear speaking to you unlke many too unsoundproofed restaurants. I had the Salmon and it was delicious. Their salads are wonderful as well. Highly reccomend for a great dinner out. So happy we have this treasure in our backyard.
5 out of 8 had the worst meal SO salty.... told server she did not seem to care, just said sorry.
server was nice and we know it was not her fault but she should of offered us alternative and to refund it.
Had requested if private room not being used if we could have that space, it was hard to hear in main dining area. The room sat empty the whole time we were there. That was the only disappointment. Everything else was fantastic.
Great food, service and experience. Always enjoy coming here. Very consistent.
Firs visit to the NEW Montgomery location. New building- very minimalist . The only sad thing was the limited menu they now have. they cut their menu in half- lucky they kept some of the things we like- but really disappointed there !
There are fewer small booths and booths in general and the place gets noisy very quickly. The best thing I can say about the new place is the easy parking in the back. We will likely go back for a steak but from the waiter heard that the Westchester location still has the OLD menu so plan to head over there and check it out when we want to DO Stoencreek the next time !!
Now like that location better !!
We have enjoyed several dinners now at the new location. The ambiance is energetic. With the change of location also came a change in menu. Personally, I preferred the food options better at the old location.
Food is good as ever; missing some of their old standby menu items like the mixed grill. Would be great if they brought that back...maybe too difficult to get fresh seafood every day?
I was a frequent diner at Stone Creek for years. This new location is beautiful and great patio atmosphere but the food was terrible. I took a business associate out for dinner - we both ordered steaks medium, they came out rare at best. Sent back and they came back so overcooked you couldn't eat them. No apologies just said "oh, we can take that off your bill if you'd like". Mashed potatoes were fake and cold, asparagus overcooked. I was disappointed and embarrassed. The beet salad was great - and the bread is still good!
Great food, but I like the old menu choices better. The combo dinners were my go-to at the old location.
Server was excellent with wine & food recommendations
Service was quick, noise level was high
Family in town
GREAT WAITER knowlageable helpful. Good atmosphere.
Our waitstaff was good and attentive but getting the food was a bit on the slow side. We went at 5:15 so maybe the kitchen was just getting up an running? Otherwise we had a good experience. We requested outdoor and was seated outdoor.
High quality and well presented
Limited desert menu
Decent wine selection
It was Friday night and place was packed - quite noisy in bar area but where our table was it was good
Servers were bit overwhelmed - for example our table did not get the bread until after appetizers were served - and it did not have salt and pepper shakers nor was it available until we were well thru our meal
Don’t get me wrong it was a nice relaxed evening and they were all nice - but for a upper price point dinner there are competing with they could do better
The new location is much more inviting and bright. Lots of room and natural light. The food and service were excellent, as always.
Service was slow. Sat someone right next to us when 90% of the tables were empty.
I like the new location. The service isn’t as special as it once was and the new menu is good but not many options like before
Loved the ambiance and our waitress was great, but a little disappointed in the fish tacos. Could have done with a little more slaw filling and a bit more spice.
Great decor! We loved the complimentary bread and the spiced oil. My husband enjoyed the espresso rubbed steak because of its interesting flavor.
Everything was great other than the temperature. We sat in bar waiting on table and it was very comfortable. Our table though was back between the kitchen and a private party room and it got rather warm where we were sitting. We ended up taking our drinks after eating and going back out to bar since it was alot cooler and more comfortable.
At first we were seated near the kitchen but due to noise requested to move to a quieter location. Our server was great! While he had many tables, he came by frequently and made sure our daughter’s birthday dinner was perfect.
We will go back!
The food was good.
We were seated next to a party room. The people attending the party spilled out into the general dining area and were a bit loud and distracting. The server never came back to ask if we needed anything and left the dirty appetizer plates and leftover bread sitting on the table throughout the entire meal, even though we had placed them at the end of the table and were clearly finished with them.
They completely changed their menu. We got up and walked out. It is not the same Stonecreek it used to be. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Will never go back! They took a lot of favorites off of the menu.
Decided buying alcoholic drinks not necessary every time we go out- so we didn’t. Ordering 3 course dinner which we split between us was adequate- cost relatively low and food was tasty.
Service was good and food was fine. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food was very good, but small lunch portions. And food was very slow to leave the kitchen--they appear understaffed the day we were there. Hopefully this is resolved in the future as I'm planning to return soon.
Birthday and small family gathering
VERY noisy. SLOW service. Food overpriced and only fair. Much preferred old location and menu.
We had a nice table and could easily talk. Not a lot of noise.
