I’ve never been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. The salmon chowder is one of my favorites. I just tried their bread pudding dessert and I am not a fan of bread pudding and it was absolutely delicious! The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating when I’ve asked for different seating, since the view is beautiful. We’ve gone for lunch, happy hour and dinner and have enjoyed it every time. I recommend making reservations when the sun is out, as it gets extremely busy.
Always great This is good food a tasty lunch to a special dinner night out
The 4 of us were there to celebrate a birthday. We took the first available reservation and were rewarded with a window table and a lovely, relatively quiet lunch! We are grateful for a very considerate waitress, which helped us have a wonderful dining experience! The birthday girl received a delightful dessert (which we all shared), which was a great surprise! Thank you!
Lots of screaming children during Sunday lunch. Lunch menu has better options then dinner menu.
When we arrived they sat us at the worst table over near the cash register even though we had a reservation. When we asked for a different table the manager argued that we would mess up other people’s reservations. They eventually moved us. The server was friendly and the food was pretty good. One person in our party was not happy with his drink. Overall a C+ experience.
The menu prices were a little expensive for what you get. The view and facility is outstanding. Great for a night out but is a bit over priced in my opinion. The service was great and the menu has a lot to offer.
Service was awful the waiter forgot my appetizer and he didn’t get my order right. He also forgot to drop off my card when we finished our meal and paid. We spent an extra 10 minutes here that we didn’t want to spend.
We celebrated a birthday lunch with a friend. It was her first visit on a beautiful sunny day. She thought the meal was excellent - - just as we did. It was very necessary to share three desserts as well. Delicious!
Stone Cliff Inn is not what it was. Very overpriced wines. Two of us had cioppino. Broth good, but serving small with messy, uncracked crab. No crab bibs offered. Lettuce in Caesar salads was mostly stems or bitter, unde- ripe romaine. No adjustments made though we couldn't eat them and sent them back. Noise level extremely high making conversation almost impossible. Have enjoyed SC since they opened, but this visit was very dissappointing, both in the quality of the food and their lack of attention to diner satisfaction.
Pros: The restaurant and the view are lovely. In nice weather you can sit on the patio and see the river.
Our first table was next to the other occupied table and those people were very loud. The dining room staff was super nice when we requested a move to a quieter location.
Cons: For our most recent visit the service was friendly but mostly absent. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived yet we waited at the host stand for several minutes before anyone would acknowledge and seat us (and we had a reservation). I think they were busy talking amongst themselves in clear view of the empty host stand.
Our waitress was friendly, but was gone or not making eye contact for very long stretches of time. Again, the place was practically empty so it is not as though there were too many guests to handle. We probably waited 20 minutes between water and her coming back to take our orders. And she walked by doing other things a few times without glancing our way - I was on the verge of chasing her down.
They have a tendency to over cook meat. Our guest's steak was very chewy. It was either the cooking or the quality of the cut, either way, it was not in line with the price. My husband's fish was fine.
Summary: I like this place. It is not a chain, the location is beautiful. The service for this visit was not good, but we have had decent service in the past. It is pricey so I expect the food to be really good, and my last three visits have been disappointing from a taste and texture point of view.
We took our out of town friends to Stone Cliff for dinner Monday evening. We all ordered something different. Smoked salmon, stuffed pork chop, diver scallops and short ribs. Every dish was delicious & well presented. We shared the Brussels sprout appetizer, it was very good.
Great wine menu too! We’ll be back.
The food was excellent! We tried the calamari and the onion ring tower and they were both cooked perfectly. We also had a cup of the smokey clam chowder which was very good and had a truly unique smokey flavor. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
I was disappointed again because I never get what I make my reservation for. I never get the seats I request.I tell them it's a birthday they never remember or look at a the reservations. I ask for outside seating they sit me inside even though I do reservation well in advanced it's just frustraiting.
Our waiter just got a 10 top right before us and didn’t have time for us. The second string, the general manager, knew there was a problem and assisted us after 10 minutes.
Having been a waiter for many years it was clear they did not have enough wait staff. It was hectic, nobody asked us why we came..a birthday, and the evening continued. We must say the food was good, however the experience was not for what we paid.
We had a great time. Food was wonderful as was everything else.
Great food had a wonderful time steak was cooked excellent (though I like it rare). Only complaint was the staff seemed a confused on which table ordered what and just getting bread took quite a bit of time. So not a place if your in a rush, otherwise for fancy dates and special occasions total recommendation.
My dates food was a little cold by the time it got to our table, but the overall experience was great. The manager went out of his way to accommodate my special requests.
I would definitely go there again ! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😊😁😁
Heather was a great server! Enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Made reservations in advance for Valentines Day knowing it would be busy.... made a specific request that I would appreciate not being by the kitchen. We arrived a few minutes early and they seated us right on the corner directly by the kitchen ....I could have helped prepare the meals we were so close. We would have waited a few minutes to be seated somewhere else. We sat for a couple minutes and I was so upset that we just got up and left with out ordering. I would like to be able to hear what my fiancé is saying at dinner instead of listening to kitchen noise for our special night out. I’ve always enjoyed Stone Cliff but when I put in the reservation in advance it would have been nice to have my request honored instead of having the exact opposite.
Valentine’s Day was excellent
Every time we come here it’s a great experience.
Food and server was great. It was very hot in the restaurant though and busy because of Valentine’s Day but overall a great dinner
I reserved my dinner for Valentine’s Day a month in advance, hoping for a quiet and romantic dinner. We were placed at a tiny table with a view of the dishwasher in the kitchen and next to the servers picking up the dishes by the grill. We were bumped into several times by the servers. It was so noisy we couldn’t hear each other. The servers were very nice though. The food was wonderful though a bit cold. It was a very expensive meal for the lack of ambience we hoped for. I would love to come back again but not during such a rambunctious time.
Valentines day dinner. Prime rib was small and the Caesar Salad was warm, limp and not appealing at all. Kind of disappointed.
I would come her again!
Great food and great friendly service! The dinner and desert were amazing, and while there are other entrées I am eager to try, the crème brulee and bread pudding are a must again!
We enjoyed our time at Stone Cliff Inn. It was a cold day and they had a cozy fire going, that warmed us up quickly. The food was very good as usual. It was an enjoyable time!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We've never been disappointed in the food or service.
First time visitor. Very pleased. Beautiful place, food and service excellent.
Great overall experience; Rib portion was massive and just OK however the rest of the food was amazing
We had great service! Our server went out of our way to make us feel special! Wonderful food too!
Great staff as usual great service................
All four of us in our party enjoyed the dinner and were pleased to have had our dinner there. We had both been there once before and said that we will be back.
Overpriced cafeteria food. If you pay $39 for a steak you don’t want gravy on it! The calamari tasted like cheap frozen grocery store bought stuff. Very disappointing.
Had dinner there for the first time several months ago. Went back because of the good food, excellent service, spectacular scenery, just a wonderful atmosphere,. Would recommend to anyone who likes good food
We were both very pleased with our meals and service. The Stone Cliff Inn is really a gem and we will be back.
The food was great, a little spendy but understand you're paying for atmosphere. Kind of small portions for large man. Most negative thought is not enough lighting. Had to use cell phone flashlight just to read menu.
Loved the experience and we will be back.
Wasn't sure why loft seating wasn't an option.
Would have been nice.
We have been coming to the Stonecliff for several years. There are always interesting cocktails on their menu, and the chef just keeps getting better. The rib eye was fantastic!
It was a warm winter day....no rain before 3:30...
View was excellent...
Food was good...however quite bland...could have used some spice more flavor...
Burger was way overcooked, not juicy...
We had a great view from a window table, the waiter was awesome, even took the time to take a picture of the group, good sense of humor, food was good and lots of it.
