I love the Stone Cliff Inn. We only visit on special occasions, but it is definitely our go to when friends and family come to visit us here in the Pacific Northwest.

I made a reservation through Open Table. We arrived before the rush, seated promptly and at an awesome table. Our server was responsive, attentive and super friendly! Food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back!

I called for dinner reservations for my wife's 61st birthday. Our hot date was scheduled for 6:30 on a Tuesday evening. We arrived a few minutes early. The place was nearly packed. The host gave us a choice of tables for two and promptly seated us. Our table was in front of the high seating at the bar, between a table of 4 and a table of 6. There was not a lot of elbow room, but we became friends with the people setting at the tables around us.

The restaurant has a nice wine and beer selection. We each ordered a glass of wine and smoked salmon cakes for a starter. The salmon cakes were delicious. My wife ordered $28 herb crusted Ahi tuna. I had a pan seared rib eye. My wife enjoyed her meal. I enjoyed everything that accompanied my steak and all of the flavors, but the $39 steak was not the quality I would expect for the price. It was about 5/8" thick and marbled with heavy gristle. . . tough, inedible tissue. It was not as described on the menu "hand cut, Natural Certified Angus Beef rib eye". If someone hand cut that piece of meat, they need to be trained to know what a good cut of meat is. The chef should have caught it before it was seared or served. I have got to admit that the bad piece of meat was covered with a delicious rosemary green peppercorn demi glaze (I call it tasty gravy). We both had desert. The food presentation is well done.

This was our first dining experience here. It was highly recommended by friends. The log cabin ambiance of Stone Cliff Inn is unique with a lovely view of the river below. The wait staff was friendly, prompt and attentive. The restaurant is moderately noisy. We will be back, but next time I won't hold my tongue if I am served food that is not top quality or cooked to my satisfaction.

Enjoyed my visit and food was great.service was excellent...except need to pay attention and keep coffee hot. I had to wait for coffee while waiter made fresh pot and it was the lunch hour.

Delicious cuisine, beautiful setting overlooking the river. Only area that needs improvement is servers to be more attentive to their customers. Check back to see if anything is needed. Had a hard time getting waiters attention to ask for desert then to find our waiter to request iud check.

Very good service, quick but not pushy. Gave us plenty of time to have drinks, have our bread, talk, have our meal and dessert. Really like the atmosphere. Food was pretty good, but really not worth the price. Pork chop was fatty and a little over done. Veggies were under cooked. Cedar plank Salmon was tasty. Desserts were good.

We like this place for its location and ambiance; during the daylight hours, the views are what we love most. Food is always mediocre and prices are pretty high, for dinner.

My sister and I decided spur of the moment to go to lunch with our significant others. I had passed this restaurant a couple days before and made a mental note to check it out. Loved the style of the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and we liked the menu options. My husband has a food allergy to tree nuts and that was duly noted by the waitress and we had an uneventful experience (that's a good thing). Will definitely do this again!

We have been here before on Thanksgiving when our children were out of town. We got in right away and the food is really delightful. The bread is SUPER GOOD. I was a little disappointed with the prime rib but a very enjoyable dinner.

I am speaking only of Thanksgiving. We had our hearts set for prime rib. 1/2 way through the day they were already out. The server forgot several items and we had to remind him. Then when we got the food it looked like it had been thrown on the dishes and honestly for a $32 meal very disappointing. We will not return for Thanksgiving

Our waitress Arrielle was delightful, the other workers did their work well.
This is the last time we will try a fancy restaurant during a holiday.
Plenty of food for the high price, and we did get a window looking out on the carved bears, and parking lot.
Just too old to enjoy partially cooked food. Turkey still had pink, and green beans still snapable. Yes, I know, we should have said something while there, but . . .
Enjoyed the yams!

We went for a nice Thanksgiving meal. The service and food were excellent. However, the noise level was unbearable and we skipped dessert to go find someplace else quiet. Suggest you visit this wonderful lodge but not during peak meal times until they can figure out how to buffer noise.

I stumbled across this place when looking for a nice place to go on a date. I loved the ambiance and the food was amazing. Stone Cliff Cioppino...if you like seafood, this is amazing. A spectacular blend of lobster, clams, scallops, crab, all swimming in a broth concoction I have never tasted the equal of. Great portion sizes too. My date had the hazelnut breaded chicken and enjoyed it immensely. The only downside is that if you wish to carry on a conversation, the food will distract you from it! It was dark and the patio was not set up for outdoor seating, but what we could see was breathtaking. It commands a beautiful view of the Clackamas River. You have to drive up a switchback up a cliff to get there, so it lives up to the name.

I could go on, but you should go try it for yourself. I don't think you would regret it.

If you are on a tight budget looking for a deal then don't go here. I wasn't. I was looking for a good time with some friends and good food and I was not disappointed. The pot pie was a little too bready for my friend but the filling was good. Everything else was really good. Blackened chick sandwich, reuben and kobe beef burgers were all very good. I've been twice and would go again. Summertime on the deck would be really great.

One would think that at 6:30 p.m. the entire menu would be available. As my date and I were repeatedly told, "I'm sorry. We're out of that because....blah, blah, blah"; the disappointment grew. That disheartening fact might have been overcome by our enjoyable conversation if the conversation were a one-way yelling fest'; We not only couldn't hear one another but we couldn't hear ourselves or our server. One of the most obnoxiously loud dinner environs I have ever encountered, Texas Aggieland game night BBQ's excluded. ... and a 95-minute wait for a rare steak and a seafood soup? The food looked and tasted great. I'd go again if that and our wonderful server were our only considerations; but very sadly, not!

Attractive venue with lovely scenery. The service was friendly, attentive and prompt. The food was terrific and showcased local options. My smoked, broiled salmon was delicious as was my husband's choice of chicken breast with creamy blue cheese sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. We enjoyed a Willamette Valley wine which we'd tasted the week before at the winery. Loved the cozy log building. We loved ve in a timber frame house and felt right at home!

Great ambiance.
Brussel sprout appetizer was great. Seasonal vegetables (green beans and peppers) were a bit spongy as if they had been previously frozen. Entrees were solid. Service was a bit on the slow side but the staff was very friendly. Our visit was in the fall so outside seating was not available but looks like they have great space for outdoor seating.

On this occasion we had very good service and the fresh caught salmon was outstanding, we did not order the a la carte salad or soup-mostly because the salads are very large and we are light eaters; however in the past they have been very tasty.
We always enjoy our trip to this establishment and the most negative thing we can say is the menu in general is a little overpriced for our budget so we save our trips for special occasions.
