Stone Cliff Inn Ratings and Reviews
Our family has been to the Stonecliffe inn several times over the past several years. Usually it is to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday, out of town guests who would enjoy seeing the river, or just my husband and I for a nice dinner out. Our experience this last Sunday was less than satisfactory. There were six of us and a child celebrating my sisters 61st birthday. It felt as though we were inconvenience to our waiter The hostess paid more attention to the table than our waiter. We had to ask for everything. Three of us were drinking iced tea my husband got the weight of the tension and asked for more ice tea all of our glasses were empty but the waiter brought back one glass set it down for my husband and walked away. I said what about me? About 10 minutes later the hostess noticed and brought over to fresh glasses. Our waiter and another waiter perhaps the fellow that was watching the bar spent more time watching the football game openly as if that were there priority rather than being attentive to the diners I felt a little embarrassed suggesting the place for my sister celebration, it was very disappointing
We had a lovely evening with family celebrating our oldest daughters 21st birthday. We had superb service all the way around. Our youngest daughter is vegan and not all restaurants have choices, but, the chef was excited to make her something special. It was Devine. Thank you so much, we will be back!
We come here when we want a great meal without having to drive downtown. Our waiter had great recommendations. He was very attentive, but not annoying. Delicious bread, onion rings, specialty salads and great steaks. My friend had the fish and loved it. The apple strudel and chocolate mousse were delicious. We will definitely be back.
Always enjoy Stonecliff Inn. Ambiance is cozy and comfortable. Service was great. We went on New Years Eve and it was lovely. I do think the prices were a little high for what was served. Menu seemed a bit limited on this occasion, not what was posted online. Still would return again.
We love coming to Stone Cliff. We have been with kids, a large group, and for a date and it has been great for all three circumstances. Great food, friendly service. This was New Year’s Eve and they had a special menu which was wonderful. We were also celebrating our anniversary and were treated to a dessert on the House. We will be back for sure.
We chose Stone Cliff for our Anniversary, which happens to also fall on New Year's Eve. Even though it was on a holiday known for being busy, we didn't feel like it was different than any other night. The service was very timely, the food was excellent and we had a very enjoyable Anniversary dinner. We ordered the duck and rib-eye. Be prepared for a large portion with the rib-eye. It's a good meal to share.
Honestly we did not like the plates. We ordered grilled chicken for my kids with fries. After I while I realized that they were not eating the chicken and one of them was complaining about a little cut he had on his lip that was burning him. To make the story short, the chicken they gave the kids was so salty that was uneatable. We told the waitress and she like didn't care that much and still charged us for that dish. The food was OK. Too expensive for the quality. This was my third and last visits to that place. It is a shame because it is a realy beutyfull place. Needs light in the parking lot. And we were 4 adults and 2 kids and they charged us 20% gratuity no option to change that witch I didn't liked neither.
Very disappointed in the food. I had braised short ribs with risotto and Brussel sprouts. Dinner salad was not included. The ribs were tender but incredible salty, the risotto was very bland and barely done. Way over priced. Bacon wrapped meatloaf was dry and bland as well. Bread was artisan and delicious, as was the strawberry lemonade. Service was good, very dim light, great for ambiance but if you like to see your food it's a little dark. This is a one timer for me, won't be back.
Setting for the restaurant is gorgeous. Food was very good. Onion ring appetizer was terrific. They were perfectly cooked and screaming hot. Served with catsup and a Chipotle aoli.
Wife had the cioppino which was good and seafood was fresh.
I had the stuffed pork chop. Pork was well cooked and served with a mustard cream sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Dessert was bread pudding which was topped with pecans and a bourbon caramel sauce. Was served warm with a dollop of whipped cream.
Overall a good meal, the entrees maybe a bit overpriced ($28) for the chop.
It was our 52 anniversary. It was a Sunday at lunch time. Not crowded and so we were able to get the table by the window. We had a great waitress and her service was fantastic to include going outside and took 6 pictures of us with my phone. The pictures came out great, and I never take a great picture. Also the dessert was fantastic. It was soon nice that we purchased 6 gift cards for friends.
Two words... Bread Pudding. omg. Any salmon selection you order is great (and I've tried them all) . Very consistent cooking. If you like woodsy northwest ambiance then this is the place to be. We've been fortunate enough on several occasions to watch the bald eagles in the area patrol the river while we had lunch on the deck. Love it.
Today is mine and my wife’s anniversary. We made reservations at stone cliff inn and couldn’t be more happy with the great food awesome atmosphere and amazing service. We look forward to returning again soon. Thank you all so much for your help making our special night turn out so awesome.
I called for dinner reservations for my wife's 61st birthday. Our hot date was scheduled for 6:30 on a Tuesday evening. We arrived a few minutes early. The place was nearly packed. The host gave us a choice of tables for two and promptly seated us. Our table was in front of the high seating at the bar, between a table of 4 and a table of 6. There was not a lot of elbow room, but we became friends with the people setting at the tables around us.
The restaurant has a nice wine and beer selection. We each ordered a glass of wine and smoked salmon cakes for a starter. The salmon cakes were delicious. My wife ordered $28 herb crusted Ahi tuna. I had a pan seared rib eye. My wife enjoyed her meal. I enjoyed everything that accompanied my steak and all of the flavors, but the $39 steak was not the quality I would expect for the price. It was about 5/8" thick and marbled with heavy gristle. . . tough, inedible tissue. It was not as described on the menu "hand cut, Natural Certified Angus Beef rib eye". If someone hand cut that piece of meat, they need to be trained to know what a good cut of meat is. The chef should have caught it before it was seared or served. I have got to admit that the bad piece of meat was covered with a delicious rosemary green peppercorn demi glaze (I call it tasty gravy). We both had desert. The food presentation is well done.
This was our first dining experience here. It was highly recommended by friends. The log cabin ambiance of Stone Cliff Inn is unique with a lovely view of the river below. The wait staff was friendly, prompt and attentive. The restaurant is moderately noisy. We will be back, but next time I won't hold my tongue if I am served food that is not top quality or cooked to my satisfaction.
Delicious cuisine, beautiful setting overlooking the river. Only area that needs improvement is servers to be more attentive to their customers. Check back to see if anything is needed. Had a hard time getting waiters attention to ask for desert then to find our waiter to request iud check.
Very good service, quick but not pushy. Gave us plenty of time to have drinks, have our bread, talk, have our meal and dessert. Really like the atmosphere. Food was pretty good, but really not worth the price. Pork chop was fatty and a little over done. Veggies were under cooked. Cedar plank Salmon was tasty. Desserts were good.
My sister and I decided spur of the moment to go to lunch with our significant others. I had passed this restaurant a couple days before and made a mental note to check it out. Loved the style of the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and we liked the menu options. My husband has a food allergy to tree nuts and that was duly noted by the waitress and we had an uneventful experience (that's a good thing). Will definitely do this again!
