Brant was not on his game during our whole visit he seemed frazzled from the start. Our reservation was 7pm. Hostess seated us right away & left us with menus. Brant came & introduced himself then disappeared we waited 15 minutes for him to return to take appetizer orders. We gave him our meal orders at same time. Not sure if he would return. This created a problem as our soup salads & entree all came out @ same time. We still had appetizers on table. This created a lot of plates on our table so made it hard to eat things when they were hot. There were 6 adults & 1 child. Had to ask several times for more water which he kept forgetting to bring & additional silverware. Each time we needed something we had to try & flag him down. We have dined here several times. If this was our first visit it would be our last visit because of the poor service. It was first visit for three of the adults with us. I felt bad because he had pumped them up for a great dining experience.
Always nice to return to Stone Cliff Inn. We were celebrating a birthday and we were treated like royalty. Rum Punch was a great way to start, then coconut shrimp, then ribs and a steak, polished off with a brownie and vanilla ice cream. Service was spot on, food was A+ and always a comfortable venue with fantastic views of the river.
Nice experience, food was fabulous. Party of 7 so conversation limited...table end to table end, service was excellent. One of our party forgot sweater and they kept it for us which I picked up next day.
I've never had a bad meal here. My husband and I spend almost all of our "special occasion" meals here, and I have confidence when I bring my clients here. I know the food will be delicious, and the service outstanding.
Food was excellent and very nice and easy going staff was great
Great location and ambiance (Large two story log cabin on a cliff above the Clackamas River). Service was timely and attentive. Menu has nice variety and prices are reasonable for a better restaurant. Food was excellent. Wife had the seared Ahi, and I had the cioppino, and both were nicely plated and very tasty. Excellent wine list. A little more noisy than I prefer but not intolerable.
We went last year for our anniversary and loved it so much that we went back this year. The food is fabulous, the staff attentive and the atmosphere delightful. Our only negative is that if it’s cold out, each place we’ve sat have been very chilled every time the front door opened.
First time in was Friday evening. Celebrated a special friend’s 70th birthday and it was lovely!!! Food was delicious, atmosphere was stunning and the service was OUTSTANDING! We will be back for sure. Well done Stonecliff.
Our waiter was cordial, service was professional, food was excellent. We enjoyed walking around the grounds after lunch. The design and building materials of the structure is quite impressive.
We ALWAYS enjoy Stone Cliff, and in fact, had our first date there, and got engaged there (at table 31). The service is always impeccable, the sommellier knowledgeable without being pompous. I was gratified that Kendra (the server that took photos of our engagement) recognized us,where she wasn't waiting tables, and made a point to come over to visit with us and to congratulate us on our recent marriage. We always feel comfortable and welcome.
Great good food and atmosphere
A great place to celebrate special occasions. It's comfortable, spacious, excellent food and very good service. The fireplace in the winter adds a wonderfully warm atmosphere.
My wife and I enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the Stone Cliff. Get there early for a beautiful window seat! The service was great.
Food was great. Drinks were nice little on the stiff side. Great place for a date or anniversary dinner.
This is a local restaurant for me I usually eat there at least 6 times a year
We had reservations at 6:30 and arrived about 45 minutes early and asked if they had anything earlier, and they accommodated our request and had dinner 1/2 hour earlier! Our server was amazing and very attentive to our needs. The food and service was outstanding, we will definitely be back soon!
We were looking forward to the Stone Cliff house. We read some good reviews and loved the look of the log cabin structure. It was a Friday evening. We were seated near the front desk, chilled by the opening and closing of the front doors and in the path of high traffic. That was something we could adjust to; but the meal itself was not good. The preparation was so heavy handed. . . overcooked string beans and carrots smothered in heavy dark sauce, risotto that was too buttery, salty and mushy, and salmon that was flavorless. My husband had the Ahi, which was equally disappointing. The entrees were in the $30 range, but the lack of quality of the food cannot justify this price range. Its a lovely setting in a forested area near the river, but the food needs vast improvement.
Amazing service. And delicious food. It was a great way to celebrate my Birthday!
Great log cabin in the woods feel with slightly upscale dining menu. The menu is sort of a Pacific Northwest style menu. The food is good however for the price point I wouldn't call it memorable such as like a Ruth Chris or El Gaucho . Seems they concentrate more on the over done presentation than the recipe. Nice rotating tap and impressive wine selection. Having said that I would eat there again and would recommend it.
Amazing customer service, amazing food. We had an incredible evening.
I have been to Stone Cliff in the past. But this time for Valentines Day the tables were very close together and felt like you couldn’t move or you would hit others. The noise level was very high due to all the added tables. I wouldn’t recommend it for a busy holiday. The food was very good as usual.
We go to Stone Cliff on special occasions. We've always been very impressed and feel it's worth the extra money every now and then. This last Valentines day we were a bit disappointed with our meal. The Calamari was nothing special. We didn't even finish it. My husband's steak was bloody and he ordered medium well. I have to say the smoked salmon chowder was excellent! I asked the waiter for a crem bulee to go and he just said it would fall apart so he didn't recommend it. I left without ordering it
This is our special Valentines Day tradition. Third year and we are excited to come back in the spring and try patio dining. Always look forward to coming here.
We got in pretty close to our reservation time. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Great food! Not our first visit and we will continue to come back!
OK, I will be frank. We went on Valentines night. Keep that in mind for my "Stars" as they reflect the only experience I've had in there. I expected busy and it was. Parking was fine. They Sat us Relatively Quick with our reservation, we only had to wait 5 or 10 minutes. The place was packed. Every seat taken. We sat upstairs. My wife has a disability with the joints in her body, she made it just fine, but it should be mentioned for those who cannot make it. There is main floor seating. The tables were small, so small it couldn't hold our food and appetizer at the same time. People constantly brushing past us the entire visit, and it was super loud inside. The staff was great, super nice and fairly attentive for how busy it was. Food came out at a reasonable time and was great. There was nothing that we didn't enjoy as far as the food goes. The price was a bit high in my book, I don't usually spend $150 a night for just the wife and I for dinner, and I know the Menu was limited for the Busy night. Desert was good, we took it to go and were pretty pleased. Would I go again? Yes, but we don't end up going out a lot and I knew I'd be spending more than our usual trips out. My compliments to the Staff.
Fantastic evening. Service was on point! The only disappointment was the Mako shark. It was a bit dry, and had a burnt taste. That said, everything else was great. Stone Cliff will continue to be one of our go-to places for special occasions!
Seriously, kudos to the staff! It was packed, and every single staff person we encountered was smiling, and professional.
All our meals were fantastic. Our server was outstanding and all the staff were friendly. Perfect Valentines meal ❤️
We ate at Stone Cliff Inn on Valentines Day and had our worst experience ever at your restaurant. The food was good but we felt like we were scrunched together like sardines. Our waitress tried her best to make it enjoyable but I’m afraid the emphasis was on optimizing profits and not customer comfort.
We will certainly come back because we usually enjoy our time at your restaurant.
Food and service was remarkable.
This was a great overall Valentine's experience. The setting, building and interior make it something special. For a such a busy night, staff and food were top notch. This is our third visit, something must be right.
It was super pretty, super romantic. Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time!
We were there on a evening when it snowed and had the place to ourselves. Very romantic way to spend our 30th anniversary. Staff were excellent!
View is amazing, service outstanding, food par. Was very disappointed in the side dishes.
A very charming place, waitstaff was fabulous, excellent food and affordable.
Although we hadn't been before, the menu & the setting looked excellent, and to our party of four's delight the creative appetizers and main courses and drinks were all top drawer / top notch. And the staff was over-the-top friendly & fast. Many thanks for the delightful dining experience: we'll be back!
Food great. Presentation great. Freshness great. Service was poor. Anytime I needed something I had to flag down a different server. Very disappointed in the service.
Great food, great service, highly recommend for a romantic dinning event.
I continue 'trying' Stone Cliff in hopes to see consistency balance out. I've gone there for years---so many times it was wonderful---but, the past year, it's spotty in terms of food flavor (selections/options), clean and professional servers, etc. For the quality of food, their prices are out of line. Example: I've order the steaks and 2 out of 5 times, it was to tough to chew. Again, the other times, it was excellent. We are not sure of they have turn over in the kitchen or what the actual problem is.
Liked that the menu had some unusual options. Log cabin feel was nice. One of the chicken options could have been cooked less, was dry. Presentation was fine. Several different beer and wine options was good.
The Stone Cliff Inn was fantastic!! We have been driving past there for years, and finally tried it--will be back! Service was excellent, food was beyond awesome, and the atmosphere was quiet and private. We are super excited to return.
